Hi! The bolt that breaks off and ends up in the number 6 cylinder attaches the positive cable to the grid heater. Wiggle your cable, if it’s loose, panic a little bit. Buy this kit.
How much horsepower increase in does this improve the fuel economy? I have a 20113500 dually with 2.2 million miles on it & I use for hauling & Fuel academy is important to me that's my money.
this isnt a fuel econmy upgrade this is a "dont choke your engine" upgrade, it makes the air movement from intake to combustion chamber smoother and more even, it does unintentionally fix the heater grid failure bolt
@@DieselPowerProducts I can confirm that. Put this exact item on my 2007.5 3500 6sp manual that is otherwise 100% stock. Performance, & mpg improved. I do not have an EGT Guage, but being I pulled a trailer 500 miles across the Mojave desert on a VERY hot day with ease & the AC running and had zero temp issues, I'd say at the very least, EGT was well withing acceptable limits. Personally I feel this is the very first mod any 6.7 should have. PS I also have the equivalent item on my otherwise stock 06 5.9 and love it as well.
How does it not throw a check engine light if you dont use the heater element? Because correct me if im wrong but if you turn the key on the ecu automatically sends juice to the stock grid to heat the air, so if it has nothing connected drawing power wouldn't the ecu see theres no draw and throw a CEL?
im guessing you dont live where it gets acculy cold do you, because these bolts fail ALOT up here in the north where we have to deal with temps being at -20F or lower for weeks
@herculesinwyoming fake wind chill, ya ok you snow bird, get back to me when you are LIVING in sustained -50 before windchill like I had last Jan, fake windchill, fucking city slickers
I bought this kit and took it to my diesel mechanic to have them install it, they saw two trucks where the bolt dropped and had to rebuild the engines. I don't think its rare but not very common but yes it does happen.

That is GREAT information. Thank you for sharing!!
Panic? Nope park it and fix it before you drive it. You wiggled it and might have knocked off the bolt.
I can’t find anyone or any video that talks about horsepower increase. Can’t you please touch on that or does anyone know the numbers?
It works great and makes a big difference in proformence.
Whats the dyno results before and after?
No one knows. I figure zero
I deleted my 2017 Cummins 6.7 can I install a Banks monster ram?
Just ordered mine today!

Can this increase performance while still keeping everything esle stock..... boost tubes, etc?
Yes, it can, and does.

banks has a heater element in it
does my 5.9 have one of those dangerous bolts?
No, it does not.
What if i live in a super cold area?
No sweat! Comes with a heating element. Check out 1:15.
I have a 2016 6.7 if I install this would I need a tune? My truck is all stock not deleted.
I have a 2015 6.7 with the Monster Ram. No tune needed.
The bolt failure is super rare. So rare i almost think some have been faked.
🤣

@David-jt9nt north east wyoming. We get plenty cold. He had -45 one time last winter and that's not with the fake wind chill junk.
