In short, a cylinder can only draw in X volume of air, and to improve the cylinder filling for more torque there are only two ways of doing it.
a/ make it more efficent passing the air into the cylinder to fill it to it's maximum potential - or above.- - end/or remove the exhaust gases as effectively as possible and/or minimise the pressure resistance to the piston forcing the gases out.
b/ increase the density of the air drawn in - the volume is the same, but the oxygen content is much greater.
By tackling all these things, as Mr Banks does, the net advantage is greater than the individual parts and there is also the benefit of avoiding one 'improvement' compromising something else.

I have an uncle who started working for Cummins about 40 years go as a Mechanic in Joplin, MO. He was eventually moved to Denver, CO to work on the big generators used by Ski resorts and hospitals. He retired a few years ago, the only person to ever sit on the board of directors without a college education. He swears by Banks parts, and has always fitted out his Ram trucks with lots of shiny stuff from Banks. If their good enough for uncle Joe they have to be good parts, as far as I remember he hasn't bought anything other than OEM or Banks since he started buying Ram 2500's years ago to pull his camper with.

I just finished installing mine on my 2007.5 that has 275,625mi. on it I bought it new in 07 with 26mi on it. When I removed the old Intake it wasn't to bad as far as soot, and the heater grid looked good also, and I'm sure that had to do with me deleting all of the stuff at 20,000mi (don't have emission here were I live) the heater grid was easy once I got the fuel lines broke loose. Once everything was finished and double checked I did have a clamp on the new intercooler tubes that I installed also so I had a boost leak. Got home cause I noticed that the boost on my I-DASH Gauge would only go to about 9psi got home and found the T Clamp on the tube that attaches to the Turbo was off, so put it back on and tightened everything down and took a ride. Well I can tell you this my truck runs better than when it was new, got on it a few times and hit 22psi on my gauge. This product is great and does exactly like Gale Banks talks about in this video. Great product I should have done this a while ago. Keep up the great products, and research that you do.

Bought this kit for my wife's 2018 Ram 2500 4wd. It only has about 25k miles. But has been to the dealer 3 times for a P20EE code. The last visit, the dealer replaced the SCR under warranty.
I bought this kit to keep from having the grid heater bolt failure. And having to spend $15k for a new engine.
Diesels are lean burn engines. We add fuel to air. I have the hope that with even more air flow. For an even leaner burn. May help the aftertreatment devices not fail again.
After I install the Monster Ram intake elbow. My test run will be from Quartz Hill CA, to Tehachapi. Using Tehachapi Willow Springs road, to CA-58, to CA-14, back to Quartz Hill. The test will involve towing our 7x16 Wells Cargo trailer. At a steady 55mph, on cruise control. A previous test run yielded 13.1 mpg with the trailer. The same test loop, with just the truck got 27mpg. The trailer is towed empty. It is all aerodynamic drag.

1: I'd love to see a BONE STOCK truck with a baseline Dyno, and then a Dyno test with just the monster ram, then a Dyno with just the intercooler, then just the big filter... Then dynos as things are combined.. that way we can see what each individual part improves, and the. The compounding effect of combining the upgrades.

I really appreciate all the development you put into your products! Do you know of any companies that put this much research into VW diesel engines ? I already have the monster exhaust, but im going full 3 inch and have to make it myself . I wanna make sure I get good properly engineering in my parts.

1:30 Have you tested an engine where a TVS or twin screw supercharger is feeding the turbo? That makes more sense in my mind.

Gale, your science and testing is why I choose your products every time. Cold air with super scoop and exhaust brake on so far; Monster ram, ecomind and inter cooler pack to come on my 07 5.9 Cummins.
Speaking of testing… what’s up with killing that Duramax? Been itching harder than a crack addict for the next mod and test video.

All these years of intake horn videos all over. But yet i have never seen any of them backed up on a wheel dyno all together and under same conditions. Why? Or have the cylinder head on the flow bench and flow the intake valves with all of the options of horns.
