Quick and accurate breakdown on the gas for each trim. This is a great video brother!
Thank you 💪🏾💯
False info lmao only time you need high octane is higher compression it actually hurts you hellcat yes run high octane anything else u pissin in the wind
The real secret is having your car run on water or sea water.
Lmfaoooooooo 😂😭
If you figure it out just know you’ll disappear
There is a car that runs on hydrogen called Toyota mirage lol
That’s a boat
@@babyninja7883boats take fuel
If you bought one of those cats... your sister is waiting for you to pick up your son/nephew.

I don't get it 😅
@@killerbee792
You get/got it..
😂😂😂😂
I’d be more worried about those higher end models being carjacking magnets than the type of fuel you put in it.
💪🏾💯
It’s pretty simple to protect your car. Just carry and be aware of your surroundings. It’s also smart to have a garage or a sheltered place to put these cars in
Just switch it to a manual, wont even look at it after that
@@Joe-jj3ohdamn straight 🔫, I never ever leave home without it. Whether I drive my truck or my Widebody Redeye…Gotta stay ready in these pathetic streets
Just keep it just under quarter tank by the time the tyres peel out as they are driving away take a slow walk towards the next block and by magic your car will be waiting for you in the middle of the road lock it up and start that walk to the nearest gas station
Nothing but 89 shell gas in my 2019 R/T
In most cases, the difference in performance is small and something you may not notice during normal driving. If the car is designed for regular gas - or doesn't specifically say that the car requires premium gas - go with regular. There are no benefits to putting premium gas in a car that doesn't need it.
💯💯💯
Hellcat recommends Jet Fuel for max performance.
😂😂😂😂😂
Don't do that. Jet fuel is diesel without lubricants...
Don't do that! Just Don't! Do Not! 😂
@@booradley1995 fuckit add methanol
It literally never recommends running 87 octane for extended periods of time in the owners manual. It says 87 is “acceptable” when 89 is not available.
Costco gas a V8's best friend
My boy i knew something was up, I brought my Durango 5.7 second hand. Good to know. Need some more “need to know info”
💪🏾💯
Where were you when I got my Durango rt 💀
They did the same with the Rams too. 5.7 and 6.4 state 87 octane is expectable, but 89 is recommended. I never run any less then 89 in either of Hemi's
Same! 89 all the way 💯
I run 87 it seems to run really good
@RamYRN I noticed both of my Hemi's ran rough on 87. Felt like they were missing under hard acceleration, and hard on fuel.
I run 91 in the hemi
@TeejYisrael I can't afford to up here Canada, 91 octane is 8 bucks a gallon....
Dude literally don’t know anything about mopars 😂😂😂😂
The top tier list is missing a few places. There is a website with the complete list.
Use what the vehicle manual recommends unless you tune for a different octane.
True, and now I know why the Arkansas state police department cant catch nothing. ... I have a old trooper 5.7l and believe me you, they throwing 87 in a v8 , that's 10.5 compression. That rates up to 93. N they putting 87 in governed cars that can take up to 93. Buuuuut, you do have to tune for all time use. I'm a 89, but I dropped some 93, just to see. ..... 😢😮 almost thought I messed it up. 1. Almost crack my sternum, when it launched and seatbelt ratcheted. 2. Turned my car into a rocket, was scared I might crack the head or mess off a sensor. ..... but, I found I'm ok due to the compression, but you definitely have to tune for all time 93, you can tell when driving it, its powerful but held back. So just fall back to no tune 89.
@@kingshark5938 I’m at 6.4k elevation and we have 85, 87, 91 and only certain places have non ethanol fuel, 93, E85. My RT Durango does perfectly fine with 85 and I only use 87, 91 when the price is “worth it”. if I decide to 392 swap then i’ll obviously run the higher octane and maybe tune for E85/Flex Fuel. It takes a decent amount of time for the ECU to self learn fuel parameters throughout the entire fuel table when using a certain octane with a tune.
@@surgeonso4345 .... ok, yeah my talk comes from 223' of elevation. Lol and uhhhh I'm just learning of the elevated parameters. Ahhhh so that's why feul different up north. Yall 87 is our 89. So understanding, if I ship my car up north, I better burn off my 89, yall 91, and go 85 with some octane boost, if I'm there for extended time.
@@kingshark5938 our 87 is like southern 89. 85 is like 87. Less air density up here. They have pumps with higher octane but I have to drive 20-30 minutes out the way from where i’m at to get it.
@@surgeonso4345 ..... yes, reading up on that I understand now. I was wondering why gas was so different.
BP IS NEVER TOO TIER. WATERED DOWN . Ill say Shell or Amoco
bro I live in WA in lynwood it like 5 bucks per gallon if i get even premium
Yall would be surprised but meijer got good quality gas too prolly better then shell no lie
A month into owning a new r/t and i use 93. Can get it for ~$3 a gallon here
Im just gonna put 91 in my 04 cateye, the 5.3 will eat it.
Yep, I have an S55 AMG and I always tell other Benz owners or guys who uses 93 to only use Top Tier gas. For those who dont know, top tier only applies to 93 octane and are normally sold at big name fuelers. Even if you use 83, 89, and 91, I still suggest that you use big name fuelers that sell top for their 93, though, bcuz they still have better quality for their lower grade fuel. I just dont trust small name fuelers. I used to use WaWa in my Buick that I used to have, and it used to choke up soons I fueled her up and started her up. Btw, if you have a forced induction car, you should automatically be using top tier 93 octane! Never just put anything in your car, especially for forced induction cars, which are turbos and superchargers.
Nailed it right on the head bro 💯
Most of this info about gas isn't accurate, all the fuel comes from the exact same terminals. There is little difference in between fuel at different gas stations. Most recognized retailers do have branded fuel at the terminal but the only difference is a single additive just so it is recognized as that brands fuel.
I have a dodge challenger sxt I put plus
Your transmission type shouldn’t effect what octane you use. The performance motors have higher compression that’s why they use higher octane NOTHING ELSE
It's real easy under 9 to1 compression 87 over 9 to 1... 91 octane.
I got a v6 back in may and was putting 89 in it. Just recently had some ticking start in the engine. Wonder if it’s because of that 😐. I’m going back to 87 once I get it back
Hopefully it’s not fam! I wouldn’t think 89 would cause ticking.
@@TheGrimRunner I already got it out of the shop and they fixed the rocker arms. Heard rocker arms and lifters are a issue in those v6 vvt engines
Well, my 5.7 345 is recommended at 89.
I've put 87, you can notice the difference almost right away....depending on how empty the tank was to begin with ( having straight 87, only 89 left is in the lines....)
Definitely true. When I first purchased my car they filled it up with 87 and the ride felt sluggish. After I moved to 89 the car drove like it should.
@@TheGrimRunner
That’s because car dealerships will do anything to save money. It’s pretty pathetic when your buying a performance sports/muscle car and they fill it up with something your supposed to put in a Toyota Corolla
Got that big boy hemi on 93 wit the auto trans😂
I got a 6.4 Ram and run 87. I’ve used 93 that’s ethanol free for a month but didn’t see much of a difference to make it with the $2 more it costs
I’m using 91 and have a rt . I don’t know I have tunes but it runs great for me should I use 89?
89 is best to run without a tune fam.
Noted , appreciated.
I will be having a Diablo tuner in next coming weeks would I just continue using my 91 untill then or use 89 .
I’ve been using 91 and 93 in my 2023 Rt, I don’t really notice a difference and the price is so close that it doesn’t even make a difference anywyas
I used to do the same on mine. But I noticed a difference. At 93 = 240/260mhp at 89 =370/360mhp. I got surprised
I got an RT I still use 93 only
I have to use 91 up for my supercharged Monte Carlo 😂it run horrible on 89 n under
That’s what’s up fam!
😂😂 I feel you I was using 89 in my 01 Grand Prix GT 4 door...but 93 in my 01 GTP coupe
Anything forced induction should only use 91 or better because it can detonate before spark with the increased cylinder pressure
So basically a 5.7 should be taking 89
What? Bruh. Its not recommended to have a tune. It will be better if you get a tune cuz they can change you timing. Better fuel will reduce pinging in any car. Which in turn is picked up by your knock sensors pulling timing and reducing power. Higher octane reducing ping keeping timing tables higher which helps performance remain in tact. Your welcome. 87 should not go in any performance engine. Its dirty and pings
Bruh use no ethanol and see the power difference
Sadly my country only has either 87 or 91 octane, and after years of using 91 on my RT then switching back to 87, the car felt so much smoother and lighter when accelerating vs 91, as if 91 was too heavy for it
I got a 2013 r/t rwd. It was filled by the dealership with 87. Should I use all that up and then switch to 89 or is mixing cool for a bit til it’s straight 89. Or does my car not do well wit 89. Ion even know
Fred Meyers 89 is legit from Washington. Hazel dell hwy 99 Fred Meyer. Best 89 in town. I run o5 dodge hemi crew cab long bed with lumber rack and aluminum rail boxes. 288,000 miles original short block n heads. Dod. Is shit too. No motor like killing half it's cylinders. N e thang O8 n up got dod on it.
Lmao, pathetic dodge. I put the best I can find in my Toyotas, Lexus, and Nissans, and with the full custom titanium straight pipes they’re fine, they spit flames. My 99 JZX Chaser spits 4 foot flames easily. same with the 18 GTR but i daily the chaser 😂🤣 realistically with a well engineered engine you can run any fuel with just a straight pipe. Otherwise you put 91 or 93 in a Norma commuter car it’ll plug your catalytic, choke out your engine, and perform terribly. Just get rid of the cats you’re fine.
Wow the knock sensors are that crappy. Everyone knows 87 is more explosive, 89 little less, 91 and higher slow burn. It's for high compression engines. My LS430 only 91 octane or higher, I don't race. The knock sensors adjust the timing after getting the 91 out by driving filled up with 87, got in home disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, this resets the ECU to default. It gets better gas mileage on 87 and has more power. Going on 8 years. Just a old retired Toyota Master Technician that don't know nothing.
Octane rating is based on compression ratio of the engine using 91 in a low compression engine is going to have zero benefits. Your car will not be a race car if you put 91 in it. 87 is good for 9.3:1 and lower compression ratio 10:1and higher should be 91 to avoid pinging
Funny how people really think putting 93 in is automatically making their care a NASCAR
The higher the octane is better for higher combustion engines. If your compression is high like a high hp vehicle or super charged/ turbo vehicle usually have higher compression. Use what the manual says. If you drive a honda accord and run premium your wasting your $. You can actually hurt your motor if you run high octane in a low compression vehicle.
sxt compression ratio is 10.2 to1 rt compression ratio is 10.5 to1 more than ok to run both those on 87 octane the higher octane fuels handle compression better if you have a higher compression motor say 12.5 or 13 to1 with 87 gas you can detonate the fuel before the piston comes all the way up and before your spark plug sparks causing back fires and all kinds of problems and not to metion these motors have been designed and tuned to run on the fuel the manufacture is telling you to put in it running 89+ octane in your rt will have little to no positive effect on it than just running the 87 it was built to run on lol in my opinion if your seeking some informative car advice this aint the place to come for it lol
Lol the hemi and 6.4 are normal ass engines used in trucks as well and have no issue running 87 octane.
It being auto or manual has absolutely nothing to do with what octane the engine requires.
Hellcat definitely needs 93 octane.
You have no idea what you are talking about because have to tune your engine to take advantage of the higher octane gas. The RT will run perfectly fine on 87 and nothing will happen. The hell cat and scat pack are tuned for 91. Putting 103 race gas will not make it all of a sudden make more power or run better. It will actually make it run worse because higher octane gas burns slower
Man all 8 cylinder vehicles have a higher compression.. they need 93 .. the only way you can use anything less grade is if you add the gas treatment or .. you have a flex fuel motor then you can put E 85 .. which makes a car drive faster than 93
Yea because the engineers who built the car dont know what octane to put in the tank. If it says 87 then that means you will not gain horsepower with 93. Now if it tells you 2 different horsepwer levels for different gas then that means you have a tune that learns on the go. Thats why i use 93 in my mustang becaause the manual says higher perfornance with it.
Catch me at food for less filling the Honda for 35 bucks 😂💯fuck all that times is rough
Lol! I’m not mad at you bro 😂
I feel like 91/93 octane runs better my charger says it only needs 87 but i put 91 in their usually and it runs better
I had a 2015 Charger RT I bought brand new. I only put 93 in it and never had an issue with it. My homeboy had a challenger RT same year and had some issues with it. He would burn 87 all the time and ride around with the gas light on smh. Mine was also faster than his. Gas does make a difference.
So Should we use 87 or 89 on a 2023 Charger GT AWD automatic 3.6L V6 engine?
So I’m guessing for the pursuits models it’s the same as the RT’s considering it’s basically the same engine?
I go to chevron because I use the app to save money. I have an rt so I use mid grade but I’ll never use regular. I just can’t afford premium 💀😂
Nope sxt takes premium too I drove mine for a year took it on. 2500 mile road trip and got home it was tripping they checked it no pro but before I left they asked what gas I use told me to only use premium
I use to hual gad and diesel it all comes pretty much from the same place just with a few different ingredients
What about a 2023 Chrysler 300C SRT8 package with the 6.4 L V8 ?
I have a 2019 rt with less than 55k miles on it original owner and it has never seen has other than shell 93 v nitro+
Just get an eFLEXFUEL KIT and get some corn fuel in your life
Why worry.. they will either blow the engine crash or baby momma will trash it. or someone going to steal it.. It's not lasting long anyway and no one willing to by a abused vehicle 😒..
I have an sxt 2017 rally with flex fuel. Takes E85
nah fam if your putting 93 in your hellcat your doing it wrong, e85 all the way.
I put 93 in my octane, it’s like a couple dollars difference bruh 😂
87 is like for an emergency but shouldn't be used long term it's rare but I went to a gas station and 89 was not available. If you use 87 get a flush then fill back up on 89 just in case riding on 87 top long can cause issues with your fuel pump or EGR valve.
Thanks I just got a scat and I was using 93 I didn’t know what else to use but I dam sure wasn’t using 89 or 87 lol I knew that much
"87"will make your check engine light turn ON....
And 93 doesn’t give better performance, this is full of misinformation
Been running 87 on my pre eagle and it has never gave an issue but I did recently get told that i suppose to be using 89
Lol idk ive ran 87 on my 5.7 since new 150k miles going strong af still 2015 rt
I have a 2016 scion iA with a 1.6 engine and i still use 93 Supreme 🤷
I can only use 91 on my SXT plus. Runs the best.
💪🏾💯
That’s what your mind say, but the car want 87 . You in a damn SXT. Your car will run fine on the E&J 😂
@@lbb-ridge482nah I’ve got an old ‘10 SE and the 3.5 seems to walk a little faster with 91 or even 89. I usually just fill with 87 and then do 5 gallons of 91 as soon as I’m back to 3/4 and it runs nice. I stay in my lane but it does intimate people who just see a challenger
@@lbb-ridge482I run 91 as well and it’s so smooth from especially acceleration wise
91 octane in a SXT charger. Dude, save yourself some money and put the correct fuel in the car. You might think it runs better on 91 and it'll run the same on 87. And you're probably ruing your emission system.
Wtf is 87 octane 😂 lowest I’ve seen is 91. In NZ it’s 91 95 and 98 that’s it. And diesel
Your challenger or charger srt gets less gas mileage than my yukon truck.
Does it really matter it's a Dodge it's going to break anyway but for best performance use diesel
I dont see wawa on there. I get 93 for my civic Si there for years now and its always been golden.
Now, what are us demon users supposed to use.😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'll bet my left one it doesn't matter today. It used to matter before computers ran everything

Yessir!
This is stupid, the computer detects the octane and self adjusts, you can use any octane.
Knowing damn well everyone including the hellcats all use 87 because they don't care/know or trying to save money 😅 in witch itself is ironic
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ok in the owners manual it doesn't say anything about 87 it says 93 lol
Yall heard about 94? And anyone think it’s worth it over 93
For V8s, anything less than 91 and you risk getting that infamous "Hemi Tick."
Glad to know!
tick is in the valve train.
I think you're talking about
knock( pre ignition)
@@TheGrimRunner this isn’t true. The ticks are all related to either the exhaust manifold bolts breaking (the faux tick). Or wearing out the cam or lifters, usually from idling too much but poor oil maintenance can also cause it (5000 miles isn’t a suggestion unless you want to bless your mechanic). This guy is talking about knocking which won’t happen if you use the right gas. Like how the r/t can use 87 or 89 because the computer can compensate on output, a trade off since they can’t sell that in the base model trucks and have it require more expensive gas.
Lmao its true even my little rs only uses premium gas🤣, and 5w-50 oil 😅
Ahhhh wrong my brother! I have a 2023 Dodge Charger SXT and my dealership, Allen Samuels Dodge told me for maximum performance to use 93 and royal purple oil.
*If you are driving an automatic then just put diesel in it.*
Midgrade is not real it's a money grab. There's only regular and premium

i have a 2016 Challenger RT and the manual says 89 but i work with Hemi guys who race their cars at legal raceways and they all told me for a hemi i should be putting nothing but 91 octane in it (im in California, highest grade we have) , i dont know much about hemis and i absolutely love this car, its a fun car to drive, is the 91 safe to use in my 2016 Challenger RT? The car seems to like it and its a beast, sounds like thunder or a lion roaring when it put the petal to the metal.
Thanks for you guys advice.

Good to know!
They do the same thing with the rams with the 5.7. "87 is acceptable but 89 recommend". You can feel the difference. Not sure why they don't say to just run the 89
Right!
You mean Arco isn't top tier gas? How about 7 11 gas?
