I've been wearing Chanel N 5 since I was 20,I'll be 74 in Nov. There's nothing like it.The best gift I ever give myself.
😍😍
Classics become classics for a REASON❤️
More than the perfume, the words you use to talk about number five of chanel... are just beautifu. We can feel thé real love you have for this unique fragrance.
My mom gived me my first one year before i finish university.
It was really expensive but i dont know why i cant find it in my country now. I use it when i have spechiall things i need to go to, but is soo good i dont want it to finish.
Have you also worn Coco? Launched in 1984, Chanel herself obviously had no part in its composition. I much appreciate (the pre-reformulated) Coco as a devotée of complex spicy orientals but No 5 is, for me, in a league of her own, even if she's not my signature anymore. I can only imagine what the original 1921 No 5 smells like!
Who did this voice over? A lot of French people can do a perfect English accent just as a lot of English people can do a perfect French accent, but very few can flow from one to the other so seamlessly in a sentence. I could listen to her speak all day!
Sounds like Eva Green's voice

Growing up, dad always made sure mom never ran out of Chanel No.5. Even I have my own small bottle and mom would put some behind my ears before we headed out. This smell now, takes me back and brings me wonderful memories.
Thank you Chanel
this is such a romantic gesture....
You is rich *yaaaaaaaYEET*
this is so amazing! thanks for sharing.
My husband does the same for me as well♥️
The narrator is Madame Hélène Famin, french comedian and parisian artist.
Thanks for the info. Beautiful voice.

I checked her linkedin and it says that she did the french version, who did the english version????
My grandma's favorite perfume was No. 5. I used to think it smelled awful, but now it just reminds me of her. I bought myself as cheap a bottle as I could afford so I could remember her when I feel too anxious too do something on my own.
Chanel's commercials are the best I've ever seen. The voice, the history, the promise of Chanel that "This isn't just a fragrance", gorgeous, outstanding, splendid. That a single scent could make memories, make a landmark in the history of fashion, and become the essence of love, ever more clearer when putting your nose close to it. Thank you Chanel.
The history and story of this perfume is absolutely amazing. Being a Chanel employee myself, I am so very proud to work for this iconic and outstanding brand! Chanel changed not just the fashion world, but also the world we live in! Chanel will forever be a part of my life! xoxo

@Ester Nesief She didn't forget 'J' from job when she searched for job opportunities in chanel.
The most beautiful voice I've ever heard! Absolutely magical
+Shalini Kewalramani downloaded as mp3 i must admit :)
Valarian mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Its the voice of Helene Famin, the famous french comedienne
It’s Lisa Eldridge. She’s a make up artist and businesswoman who has also worked for Chanel for these narrations
@@Chad4U far from her...absolutely not!
I think is genius what Channel is doing? the advertisements are just delightful, by telling the origins of the brand, and giving understanding.. creating new customers..

I love how she slows down the tempo when she says "the feminine e-ter--nal"
Mixture of Art, Science, Business, Industry, Culture, History, Fashion, AD, Design, Biology, Basic Instinct.
beautifully true
😊👍💯
Why am I in tears?
She speaks melancholically, and the music is intensely mellifluous.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
no thanks

Beautiful video and the voice and pronunciation of the commentator is so relaxing -- very pleasant!
Yes, she did discover the formula for the feminine eternal. A woman who created her legacy through her clothing range, her perfumes, her jewelry and the way she lived her life and made the choices she did. To create an empire from a life which was only blessed with constrains, struggle and emotional suffering is not easy but some very few and rare souls do end up doing so. The Chanel No. 5 perfume is so exotic, rare and also expensive. I have always wished to have one bottle in this lifetime of mine but again I suppose it belongs to only a few. Only the ones blessed with money, class and taste. I even like the pictures of Coco Chanel's grave. the grave she designed herself. This gorgeous woman left her stamp of aesthetics even on her tomb stone. Blessed be.

Joua Lee Thanks. Blessed be.
Well, just to have a “taste” of it, you could buy the smallest bottle 35ml and also when it’s on sale, for example with 30% discount...I did that and I’m very happy. I’m not rich and that’s a good way of having luxury items that I couldn’t afford any other way! Hope it helps :-)
@@susanaduarteraposo What I did was use my Optimum points (collected over time) to buy a 50 ml bottle of Chanel no 5 EDT at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Chanel no 5 makes a woman feel in a higher level of beauty, feminity, sophistication and exquisite power .
Is a masterpiece of perfumery...
I'm a str8 man & i wear/love this. i only considered it after seeing Mr Pitt's ad....and I'm very glad i found it! among my ever-growing collection of colognes this is the ONLY women's fragrance i own, but it is already one of my faves...stunning indeed
Just bought this amazing fragrance for the first time and really love itz, great background story! It's interesting how you can learn so much of human progression and history from one single bottle of classic scents..,
"May rose, Haitian vetiver, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, orange blossom, essence of Neroli, Brazilian Tonka beans." The accent as a perfection. ❤ #InsideCHANEL
so buy a bottle and give it to my girlfriend? got it
Chanel's commercial for me is the best! Amazing.
yes! is it!
You must have class and style to wear this perfume. it smells strong but is absolutely addictive.
Exactly
Thank you very much
Im really crazy when i see someone wearing adidas sneakers and chanel no.5
1:21 "synthetic components which exalt perfumes, like lemon which accentuates the taste of strawberry."
That sounds like pure poetry.
I shiver every time I watch this infographic. So beautifully narrated and executed. A masterpiece.
The feminine eternal...❤
On that note i'd also like to add "and to the effeminate eternal...." we gay people love Chanel No. 5 too! ☺️☺️☺️
I love Chanel, there is so much history behind the brand. Chanel really touched the bottom of my heart !
I am 16 and I wear this perfume! It's absolutely stunning!
It was my first bottle of perfume, when i was a teenager
Summer Me I’m 17 and I just purchased it today.
I want to have Chanel No.5
But get the pure perfume or eau de toilette... The eau de parfumerie isn't as beautiful as bother of those.
If only I can afford this timeless perfume.💔

i think I missed the first video of this story where no. 5 was originally marketed and was a HORRIBLE failure. As a matter of fact, the original customers HATED the smell, they almost couldn't give it away so it was pulled from the market completely and then later reintroduced for the wealthier clients at triple the price or more at which time, with a more selective advertising campaign, not with any change in the scent, did Chanel succeed. Not because it was a great wonderful smell but because it was becoming a status symbol of wealth. In an odor test, it is very rarely, if ever chosen as the top perfume; depending on the age of the nose selecting it.
My mom had some Chanel No.5 when I was a kid & when I'd play dress-up I'd wear it ; it made me feel like a grown-up lady☺
the track is "Solara" by Avia. You can hear it on Soundcloud...
Not a single aldehyde on the diagram. However, I love number 5.
whenever i wear chanel nr 5 or miss dior, i always hear lots of compliment from everybody, especially guys ^^

Chanel Nْ 5 Nْ 22 Belle, élégante ♥ juste parfait ♥
I bought some No.5 for myself today. I dont know if I did the right thing or not. Last year- I bought myself a lovely bottle of "Coco". ( NOT Mademoiselle) but Coco. Now,,somebody tell me-No.5 or a new sewing machine? Im 32 years old and I work so hard at my job ( very physically hard factory job)and I feel so un-womanly. But I have to do what I can for MYSELF because no one else is gonna buy No.5 for me. Am I right or should I have saved that money? I think I did the right thing. I deserve it?
NoRosesForMe you do! ❤️
Being feminine is how you carry yourself not just a few drops of sweet scent would help. Read some books of art and designs or what interests you, be confident and smile a lot. That's the best embellishment for a woman of substance.
Here’s a question: what would be the MEN’s equivalent to No.5? Would it be one of the men’s Chanel fragrances like Egoiste or Anteus, or a fragrance from another designer brand?
Chanel No. 5 _is_ perfume. Period.
Like my Mother before me ..I love Chanel #5 ...Immensely
"FOR THE FIRST TIME"
love chanel..too bad the witches at the makeup counters aren't as passionate about the brand and appreciate their customers for spending there hard earned money. That's why I will shop at Chanel.com.. I agree not everyone can wear #5
I don't like it, is way too strong for my taste, but it was fascinating to smell what others smelled almost a 100 years ago.
+Eolandes7 i prefer Coco Eau de Toilette - maybe a softer version of No.5
+Sophy Phan Actually, the light version of No.5 is Chanel's Eau Première; it's a bright, office-friendly, low-cal alternative to the original 1921 formula.
Ask Chanel a SA to give you a sample, it takes a few minutes to give the scent, it reacts differently to each skin producing a unique scent.
Parfum is the original from 1921 and is the most subtle.
EDP, EDT etc. all came after and are all different in their own right.
I didn't know ilang- ilang was also one of the natural fragrances of Chanel N°5. Back when we were still little I and my friends used to love the fragrance of the flower and up until now the timeless- seems-to-be-already-stained-smell is still hard to forget.
Mayrose.. Hiatian vetiver.. Sandalwood.. Ylang2x.. Orange blossom.. Essence of Neroli.. Brazilian tonka.. And with Jasmine... All of which are individually featured in Jo Malone perfumes.... Chanel No. 5 is truly the Queen of all Perfumes!!
I have chanel n5 formula 1986
I've never liked perfume, but my mother wore no.5 all her life and she would give me the bottles with a few drops left. I know I would continue to wear no.5 throughout my own life because of her.
SweetasSugar42 Try Coco Mademoiselle
Marilyn Monroe made it more famous. Shes been into it. And shes been the face of it.
Marilyn Monroe just made it way more credible ;)
I'm a guy and still use small amounts of it with my other perfumes. Very magical!
Wow, they really know how to sell this - Now I need to try it!
MADEMOISELLE CHANEL HAD FOUND THE FORMULA FOR THE FEMININE ETERNAL
Beautiful, My eyes got watery, thank you CHANEL ♥️
OMG I DID TOO!! I NEED THIS PERFUME I LOVE TIMELESS VINTAGE ITEMS AND ANYTHING CLASSY
Although I personally wouldn't wear No. 5, the story behind it is just so fascinating. As a history freak, this is like history in a bottle!
Strangely, I do not find N°5 feminine, I find it very masculine instead. Maybe it is because of the components...
madeline coren Yes I have! Very modern sense of femininity which apperantly you are far from it!
I can see what you mean, it has a sort of... strength
Oguz Baykal You discover the inventor! Coco was a very strong female. The fragrance reflects her strength ~ which may be perceived as masculine?
madeline coren Oguz baykal - You are so angry? Why? I was sad to see your response to what appears to be a simple comment. And, this is Chanel! A line with strength to endure decades. Oh Well, I guess these "Comment" fields are open for all, so write as you feel. I was just a bit shocked.
madeline coren OC
This is the real feminism: elegance, perfection, eternity... If you can do this, you can do everything.
The soundtrack, the voice so wonderful, I'm in love with this. Literally, I watch this video every day. It makes me feel comfortable. I love when Marilyn Monroe said that she used in her bed "just a few drops of N° 5". I admire Gabrielle Chanel and when the narrator says "the feminine eternal". Loving CHANEL, loving N° 5 (because it is iconic, the flag of CHANEL), loving Marilyn Monroe here and loving Mademoiselle Chanel.
A woman should wear perfume wherever she'd like to be kissed
It's a WONDERFUL fragrance!♥️
These people are extremely good at making videos like this and music, just make a documentary already 😂🤜🤛
i watched this video over and over again from time to time idk why i love it so much!!
"A woman should wear perfume wherever she would liked to be kissed". Based on that, we should also be wearing perfume on our lips. Blech!
We need more people like them 💘❤💓💕💖💗💜💜💞
This almost made me cry, it's so beautiful.
I'm making a report on Chanel No.5's consumer behavior, and this video has succeeded in giving me an overview of the perfume itself. Thank you, Madame Coco, for inventing such a masterpiece :))
“ A women should put perfume where were every she desires to be kissed “ - coco Chanel
I’m here to take daily dose from this video
•still here
Charming
Très belle vidéo, un historique qui devient fascinant grâce à cette belle présentation et qui donne envie de humer ce parfum. Dommage que la pub avec Brap pitt soit si ... décevante. Les autres sont superbes.
For me, Chanel is not just a luxury brand.
Chanel feels like it is a story of beautiful women who ruled the world with their classy femininity and understanding of true beauty and elegance
Has Mademoiselle Chanel truly "found the formula for the feminine eternal"?
Perhaps she has; No 5 was my signature in my early 20s. I've since replaced my signature several times but I still keep a bottle of No 5 in my rotation, wearing her when my mood or the occasion calls for her; she is iconic, timeless, unique; instantly, almost aggressively recognizable.
There are once-signature perfumes that I do not care to revisit at all no matter the number of years I have worn them; I've simply outgrown them or they've otherwise lost their appeal for me, even to the point of repelling me.
But No 5, just something about her; she can be neglected for a while, even for decades, but not denied indefinitely. Once you've sworn yourself to her, you're on her radar for life even if she at times falls off yours. The spell is cast. And it is unbreakable.
I will certainly wear my No 5 on the 5th day of the 5th month in 2021 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of her introduction to the world on May 5, 1921. Join me.
Awesome plants. But why add this "mysterious" synthetic chemical into it? Parfume should be made from 100 percent whole plants only.
This stuff is pure magic!
Wish I can love this, but it smells like mens fragrance on me ;-;
Thats the complexity of the perfume. Every person has a different reaction to it. That is why i find it very beautiful.
I love you so much
I love this - the video is a work of art. I just wish - and please do not come for me - that the images reflected the perfume's customer more accurately. I bought a bottle for my mother for mother's day a few years ago. It felt so special...I just wish that Chanel could reflect moments like that...with images of women of color too.
как хотелось бы кого то из этих великих людей вернуть обратно
Shalom - Je ne Sais Quoi dire : Numéro 5 scent is like a Diamond it live forever - As my Scent sense my Feminity Yahla J'aime Chanel Numéro 5 ..........!
This is a powerful video, it is the heart of femininity! It's like an Admirable Arrogance. I like it and Chanel products are good.
ohh I hope Im not yammering here...geez,,,but I think I'll buy my mother some No.5 for Xmas. She's a Chanel Chance / Chanel Mademoiselle kinda gal. But I think she deserves No5 as well. She too works in a textile factory. Has since she was 15. She would never buy this for me nor my sister but ma deserves it too. Shes the tall , part native princess in my heart. Maybe she'll like No5. not sure. Hope so. But,,,it is magical. Chanel is magical. ♥
but it smells so damn good and it is truly hard to walk away from the Chanel counter. I can just BARELY afford it. But every time I wear Chanel- I am a woman. I feel like a new person. And I am one of the most SECURE women in the world. Just that fragrance and the feeling. I HATE the fact that Coco Chanel played around with/screwed Nazi soldiers. Its a sad dark part of her story. Disgusting. But her fragrances,,,,,you just feel new. You can be a good lookin person but you feel 100% with Chanel
OMG this is soooo good !!! I am now motivated to do more reseach for my research book about Chanel >.< Wish me luck hahahah
The narrator is madame hélene famin;;;
i don't think so, famin narrated the french version, not the english
I love the way she says Coco Chanel 😭❤️❤️
hahah It does smell a wee bit like soap yes but,,,,it smells fantastic when it settles in yr skin and...wow....but ,,,,I dunno,,,money wise- I dunno if I did the right thing. (see my other comments)
This whole serious is so perfectly done. It's just stunning. Would love to know, who did this.
I do not understand why Brad Pitt is the No.5 celebrity "model" for this fragrance. He is NOT the man would want to endorse a parfume. But- it is Chanel. With or without Mr Pitt (ugh!)
I love Chanel #5 . I have read and seen many stories upon Madame Coco. A true queen of fashion and class and mystery of being a women ..
Never like the scent but after learning more about it; I'm drawn to its magic! I should check it out again :)
the best parfums are ChristIan diors Addict.lancomes Poem and Venice from France
and Serge Lutens... absolutly the best!
I'm not a fan of the scent but I love this video.
Brad
I like this series of the documentary, it tells some many stories about this brand and with a unique form.
The most beautiful video ever made. Viva la Chanel!
This is one of my absolute favorite videos.
I'd love to learn more about the first time a fragrance was advertised in Super Bowl finals. Anyone here knows which ad was?
