The “bad” acting only seems “bad” because it doesn’t seem like they’re acting! They’re talking over each other and interrupting each other and fiddling about.. because that’s what a real conversation looks like!
So true!
you know why I see these films??!!.....because I don't understand a thing but the visuals are spectacular.
MAD MAX OKAY???!!
me too. what is this ? must be Art.
nhac trcu tinh
yep,you're right
Me too
Three sisters, a lot of money, haute couture and a lifestyle that doesn't exist anymore. I love this movie! This is not about drama, this movie show us how exotic is this lifestyle nowadays, like a fairy tale.
yes!!
these people swim in $
I dont understand this movie until I read your comment
I still don't understand it
Couldn't agree more! I think Lagerfeld did a wonderful job giving us a glimpse into the luxurious lives of the glamoursly wealthy women who actually wear Chanel
Total eye candy. This film gives a lot for you to think about too. The super power of androgyny. The pretentiousness of the elites, makes sense for bad acting. The Hitchcock feeling of the mansion's mausoleum of dead hearts. Understood as if you want to be loved and be in love, live your own dream and Chanel will take you.
Wow, you are deep!

beautiful
Androgyny is not power. What that is it's simply caving into the Ego and into social pressure. The real you is curvy and divine feminine.
Rest In Peace Karl Lagerfeld

I love the “release the corset” refrence towards gabrielle chanel.
Lol im here two years later and i have no idea who that is now
Kristen looked amazing in the opening scene as did so many of the other models. Karl creates these short films to showcase his fashions- and the beauty of his favorite models & muses. It isn't cinema and he knows it. I'm sure for the models it was great fun to do something other than walk down another runway or have your picture taken for the 1000th time.
Karl has impeccable taste , imagination and it shows here. I enjoyed this.
I agree totally.. So many people are slating Kristen for her acting failing to realise that she is meant to be playing the part of a women overacting.. Kristen Mcmenamy is one of Karl Lagerfelds favorite models and muses of all time.. I think she looks pretty awesome considering she's nearly 50 years old.. A true legend in her own right
Walter Van der Wahl Yes thank you! I loved this!
Walter Van der Wahl as did i...different! !! Beautiful a refreshing break from the norm💫💫💫💫💫
Santiago
Yes ,indeed !
Was this maybe a look at Lagerfeld himself? The sort of greed in him, the love, and the magic all locked away in some garish costuming? It makes the poor acting quite wonderful and deliberate if you look at it that way. Most of his films he's taken credit for have a "magic" element that clashes with the elegance of high class in a comical way. This actually hits a little close to home, how the illusion is more important than the reality. Lovely to think about, and alright to watch.
Dandi Deer you are a genius!
Are you an Aquarius btw?
He did not shy away from the drama element of Fashion at all. He was fabulous.
Dandi ,you are thoroughly right !
But don't you ever feel like today's society isn't glamorous as it potentially can be. The frustration is real wanting glamorous but being surrounded be people who lack vision.
I thought this short film was good, I mean for Karl Lagerfeld. Why is everyone hating on this video? First of all, Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion designer; don't critique him like he's a director. He makes short films for fun, not to make the best movies. And second off all, they didn't hire actors and actresses; they're all models and friends of Karl.
The music, when they were dancing is Mexican, is Agustin Lara from the 1950's
"Perfida"
I have watched this over and over! Anna's smokey eyes are so classic and stunning! Beautiful makeup Peter! Thank you for the inspiration!

I too ! It is an amazing film ,setting and persons !
the fairy shows us each characters inner desires... love, wealth, an extravagant lifestyle. its a beautiful short film
Anderson Cooper??
Iconic 90s model Kristen McMenamy, I didn't know she was still modeling. She's looking great, gotta be in her late 40s by now.
I love Anna Mouglalis . She is stunning and adorable . I like her decent personality and maturity. She is calm and I like the mysterious side in her personality
I wish these films returned again. They are so entertaining and refreshing to watch!
i think the bad acting is supposed to be like that... like to make these lives and these people seem more fake than they would have been with good acting..
+niicheetah Totally agree...it enhances the utter senselessness
I kinda agree, to me the only one giving a decent performance was the mysterious woman (Luisa?) that Vivienne helped at the casino and took a liking to
+niicheetah б
+Ashleigh Calvert Because Anna Mouglalis is an established actress with accolades. Her and Freja were superb.

It's amazing what an artist can express, even if it's not his own language. I greatly respect Mr. Lagerfeld for not only attempting to make a movie, but much more for his style he shows in it. Camera Nerds are told that it is not the Gear that makes the movie, it's the man behind the Camera who does. Karl Lagerfeld goes further than that, he's the artist who stands behind the cinematographer.
I adore the concept and aesthetic. Apart from the awkward acting in parts
those_ bambi_eyes maybe its supposed to be bad :)
I wish if they made part 2 for this film . Because the story began at the end of the film when Asta and Anna fall in love with each other. I realized that the film is talking about a hidden desire of Anna which she couldn’t show it in front of her parents. She was rich and had a husband but she was feeling empty from inside and wasn’t satisfied. She wanted someone who understands her feelings and emotions . So when asta came in her dream Anna knew what she really wants . It’s the innocent love between those two women and it’s about the orientation. So when asta asked her do you want to get back to reality? She answered this is real , then asta told her No it’s not real . Which means that doing things in dreams is much easier than the reality. So when she woke up she felt disappointed that why it was a dream? Why it’s not real ? Because she really loved asta and she had so much feelings to her . Then after asta knocked the door and entered her bedroom she felt happy because she came to her in reality. I really loved the concept. I just watched it and I fell in love with it . Anna Mouglalis was great and they suit each other in this film . Anna and asta . I loved the quality of the film and the natural beauty. Asta is beautiful and natural and also Anna is beautiful. The colors are amazing. Very classic and unique with very light makeup which is very natural and of course the music background is stunning and classic. The black and white mode and the color mode is stunning. I wish if there was part 2 . Thanks
You are so right about the meaning of the film ,about the great prettiness of the villa ,the trees ,the sea shore ,the persons in the film ,the dress, the objects ,the furnishiings ,the music ....
I absolutely adore any film by Karl. All of them are incredible. Vintage, haute couture, pride, greed, envy, great stories. I don't see why people don't like this one. I think the acting is great. The whole lesbian/androgyny thing that happened at the end was fabulous. This one was great. Surprised I hadn't seen it before!
There were a few bits that confused me though...her god son , was that her lover or what? What happened with the house? Why did that woman suddenly have sex with the fairy? Was the fairy a woman oooorrrr....? Lol
I think that Vivien, the fairy, the one who is a girl and a boy, portrays the Chanel dream. Coco was called the garconne, because she was using menswear as inspiration, having the androgynous style. The Chanel fairy (Vivien in the movie) has a double effect: the beautifying effect when everybody at the party becomes nice and posh, and the emotional effect by satisfying the lonely wife. It embodies the Chanel principle in "your" life, ideally speaking. Makes your life a dream.
So wonderfully said by you !
freja is sooo perfect in the last scene omg!!
am I the only one who thinks that the blonde girl look like the girl version of karl in the beginning from the looks
Me too. Karl female version
is it because of the ponytail and dark shades? :)

I love this so much ! I can't take my eyes off Anna Mouglalis ... The mounting desire, the fleeting object of passion, the heartbreak of reality and finally the possibility of love :)))
So wonderfull said by you !It is indeed a loveliest short film with deep meaning ,prettiest natural setting and prettiest and handsomest persons shown in it !
well said
You guys are so full of it. Say what you will about the acting- the direction, WHATEVER- Karl Lagerfeld has single handedly carried the WORLD of Chanel through three decades and kept it every bit as magical and inspiring as it was when Gabrielle was alive. Many a brand and empire have crumbled and fallen in even a fraction of that amount of time, yet a hundred plus years of after it's conception, Chanel is still a super power of the world. We have Karl to thank for all of it.
it's rare i find something this entertaining on youtube, have to say.
Freja's nose looks specially beautiful at 21:22.
I love her nose and her eyes. She catches your gaze.
This is genius storytelling and editing. From reality to fantasy and back. And it goes from one narrative to another, from character to character. It's like super efficient world-building.
Or maybe I'm just high as hell again.
This short film is nothing short of spectacular and visually stunning. Beauty, french accents, designer everything, maids. Nothing would be better than a foot massage while smoking a clove cigarette, having a beautiful French boy at your becking call 💋 but even in fairytales someone throws a wrench in it 🧚♂️ Karl created such an awesome film. I imagine this is how he lives 🧚♂️
Well he didn’t smoke; he hated being touched; and he never inherited that much money. So…. Not quite.
But he lived in Princess Caroline’s mansion in South of France for decades. Perhaps this was that house?
the beginning looked so good omg not that it isn't good but THE INTRO
Vivian is the babe almost everyone in the world would like to sit on their face.
I Love so much the black and white scenes and the costumes of this fashion movie😍❤
Well, the fairy is very pretty.

This short movie is really good Sir Karl. With stunning acting from Miss Freja Beha. Absolutely amusing. All the best!
R.i.p Karl 😢😢 u were a very special and talented person! The fashion world will miss u greatly! U are and always will be an icon ❤️❤️❤️
Her reaction at 6:20 is hilarious, "Peasants?? In MY mansion?? GET OUT!" lmao! #richpeopleproblems
+Prue Winnefred sad when the peasants are actually wearing leather jackets that are probably more expensive than like my entire life.
I so enjoyed this. Amanda Harlech was a natural- she did an amazing job for someone that is not an actress. Kristen looked incredible- so chic and refined. The models were all stellar, I wished that Karl could have thrown in a few high profile A-list actors just to keep it moving. Still this was rather enjoyable.
what a beautiful home
I love the sounds, excellent foley artists here ❤️
Bad scripting and acting (as some comments) makes it so real and raw! I love it!
Rip Karl gonna miss this stranger films but I really like it rest in peace visionary
I liked it ... the real is fantasy .... a ha !!!
That Godmother part reminds me of Karl being the Godfather of that little kid he walks with every after fashion show. My god. I hope im just overreacting with my interpretations.
I love every bit of it. Perfection.
3:52 'Entertaining to who' . Hearts my ears. It's WHOM for goodness sakes! !!!!
dreams come true
Freja ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Freja Behaa I love her

Super selection ♡
A short film featuring Chanel’s next top model: stunning Loli Bahia 🖤 that would be rad 💫💫💫🤍
I always watch this and have thought about it since the first time I saw it. I've just read that it first screened on my birthday!
I am ADDICTED to this film!!!!!!
Love or lust. Tc
Me too wish my life was like the movie except without the groupies
Que gusto que Chanel haya puesto la canción de Perfídia de nuestro compositor Mexicano originario de Chiapas, Alberto Domínguez.☺
