perfect explanation, thank you! my seller showed that my gourd comes with a spoon and not a double action one so I bought the powdery mate and now I am struggling, but after your video it is much beter
I think I'll always prefer the spoon but I always avoided the coiled because they looked difficult to clean. I had no idea they could come apart like that. Thanks for this!
When does the dry mate on the top ever get brewed? I always just see people filling up the same water hole over and over again. Also seems weird that they immediately drink the water they just poured in. Why not give it some time to steep?
No need. The mate will steep fully with constant pours. If you let it steep too long, then it defeats the purpose of drinking from a gourd and the result will be only a few cycles of each gourd. It's not a logical matter...it's more of a ritual...
@@AtacamaHumanoid There will be a thin layer that is usually discarded if you're drinking fine powder mate. If it's coarse yerba, then you can begin to pour water over all the yerba inside the gourd.
Hi, I saw a video where a guy was moving the bombilla when drinking mate, and a couple of Argentines were commenting saying you shouldn't ever touch the bombilla after placing it. Since you have lived in Argentina, and have lots of knowledge, what do you think?
There is a BIG misunderstanding here. It's fine and accepted for the Cebedor (Server) to manipulate the bombilla, but 'generally' not accepted for a Circle Member to adjust the bombilla UNLESS that person really knows what they are doing and have that sort of relationship with the Server. There are no hard rules here.
When I use a double action bombilla and I mold the yerba, sometimes the bottom of the bombilla moves and a piece of stem gets caught between the bottom and the tube, which leaves a gap. Then I have to pull the bombilla out and clean it, like Dave says. With gaucho mate it wouldn't be as big a problem.
haha to each their own, my friend. I like them both :) I learned something new today. I never knew they name you called the double-action. So thank you.

Thanks for the good video, molding is the key, just ordered a stainless gourd and some taurguii mate blue bag
De nada. Try some Canarias and Pipore.

Pasta Bazooka They definitely work, indeed.

Great vid I prefer the katana I use it every day :) great vid
Thanks!
Is it normal that I feel some grains when I drink through the straw?
If you feel it a lot, then it is bad thing, but when you feel it a little, then it's good.
No
@@ammobig Yes, for the first few cycles. It's fine.

would you recomend double action bombilla with taragui mate brand? Great channel by the way, great explanations.
Yes because Taragüí is a classical Argentine cut, which works very well with a double action.
Instead of Taragui, try Playadito, Pipore, or Mission. By far, superior yerbas.
The bombilla no move please!! you can not move the bombilla after put in the coup!
I can move it all I want!!! :p :) paz y amor!
Katana is for noobs! I prefer la bombilla aleteada or double action as you call it.
