Trademark exists to prevent brand confusion in marketing, and doesn't mean the name can't be used at all, it just means that you can't use it in a way that would be confused with official Disney.

This reminds me of a fond memory I have as a kid! Me and my little brother wrote a fan letter to Bob auger himself, thanking him for bringing Oswald back! Us in our lil kid minds even sent him ideas on how we wanted to see more of Oswald! We suggested stuff like a reboot of the House of Mouse where Oswald shows up as a part of the cast, A Disney Infinity figure, More short films and cartoons, and more appearances in the park! We even got a reply from his secretary and a Poster of Mickey’s “Get a Horse!” Short film! It’s very validating to see this after so many years! I hope there’s more! Good on ya Bob Iger. Good on ya Disney! I appreciate it! 😊
It's kind of heartwarming how, in his own way, Oswald is just as related to Yakko, Wakko, and Dot Warner as he is to Mickey Mouse. He's a bridge connecting distant cartoon siblings from different studios and different eras.

They PERFECTLY captured this style of animation! Remember, this was at a time where the 12 principles weren't conceptualized yet as disney tried to figure out how to make animation, so there's little to no easing in or out

Just as Oswald represents Disney's roots, I believe Osamu Tezuka's 'Astro Boy (Atom)' would perfectly align with Disney's futuristic vision. After the copyright expires, it would be incredible if Disney could produce a 3D classic animation of 'Astro Boy.' Like Oswald, I hope Astro Boy can also be reborn with a fresh and exciting perspective!

This was simply lovely! As a lot of people have said before I hope Oswald gets more love, recognition and of course screentime! If not his own series he should definitely be brought on with Mickey more often. They had quite a good dynamic in the Epic Mickey games.

makes me cry. the fact disney has the rights to put him in their animations is so heart warming and im so glad that im alive to see it finally happen again. i grew up on epic mickey, and growing up i realized how absolutely important oswald was to walt and it’s just… bittersweet to see walt’s first child back in the limelight. im sure walt would be jumping up and down and crying at the return of his first creation.

Nice, it feels true to the period with how things would just happen seemingly nonsensically and try to impress you with how absurd things would get, like oswald randomly turning his leg into a cannon, reminds me of when felix the cat used his tail as a match to light a fuse to shoot himself out of a cannon

If not his own series he should definitely be brought on with Mickey more often. They had quite a good dynamic in the Epic Mickey games.

Great job bringing Oswald back. Another idea to throw in would be to have him appear in the current Mickey cartoons. Not just as a short cameo, but as a character with a speaking role and interacting with mickey and his friends. I feel like that could catch on. 🐰💜
What a cute short! I have the box set of Oswald shorts and I loved Epic Mickey. I hope that Disney will do something with Oswald again. Hopefully another Epic Mickey game cause that was really fun.

makes me cry. the fact disney has the rights to put him in their animations is so heart warming and im so glad that im alive to see it finally happen again. i grew up on epic mickey, and growing up i realized how absolutely important oswald was to walt and it’s just… bittersweet to see walt’s first child back in the limelight. im sure walt would be jumping up and down and crying at the return of his first creation.

The animation is so cute and incredibly fluid. I love how it captures the feel from cartoons from the 20s. it’s rare to see hand drawn animation from Disney nowadays.
