Malavasey one of the most underated NFL HC of that era. As a cowboys fan I feared his teams as much as anybody in that era. That 79 team started out in the tank. He turned em around n almost won it all. We had talent enough n should've won this game Credit to the rams n RM.
Amazing game. Boy, the Rams hit Roger Staubach like a ton of bricks when Roger throws a TD to go up 19-14. There are so many great players in this game. Vin Scully is possibly the greatest play-by-play analyst while George Allen , not so much. Fun to watch this. Next I’m going to watch Rams play Bucs in the next 1979 playoff game! The modern nfl is unwatchable to me.
The Rams ended the decade finally going to the Super Bowl after numerous times of not getting passed the NFC Championship for years. The 70's Rams are often forgotten as a dominant team cause they never won the chip.

Looks like the devil has finally caught up with Hollywood.
The Steelers were by far the better team but you have to give the Rams credit. They had the lead going into the 4th. I thought it was going to be one of the most lopsided Super Bowls ever

I love these vintage broadcasts
So do I!

Can you imagine the thick furry 1970s bush she's hiding under that skirt? 🤤
Good lord she was pretty.
She was a hottie and she knew it.
What was her name
Wow...hearing Vin Scully doing football was just amazing!
That was a big upset by the Rams and that was also Staubach's last game.
Sad day. If Dallas wins this game and the next, it’s another Steelers Cowboys super-bowl
I recall this game, I was nine.

Vin Scully AND George Allen?! Absolutely tremendous!
Damn those receivers running with that ball like a loaf of bread.
Allen sounded just like Dick Vermeil
They were a solid team
Ferragamo’s “stand in and take the hit but deliver the ball” at 1:21:10 is one of the best ever
Love how players (both teams) help opponent get up from ground - don't see much of that anymore
You see way too much of it now and it’s disgusting. NEVER help the opponent up
It's called sportsmanship.

Outstanding Game for the RAMS. Vin Scully, George Allen on the call for CBS

The Cowboys' last home loss until Week 1 of the 1982 season.
Ferragamo to Waddy “he’s going to go” ……..
I was so dissopointed we lost this game an didn't make it back to the Superbowl 14 to get another shot at the Steelers 😢

I watched this game and rooting for the Rams. 79 the year the Rams went to the Super Bowl to face the Steelers.
Forgot that White was the punter before QB
I bet the Cowboys were missing Ed "Too Tall" Jones that year.
And Charlie Waters and Hollywood Henderson
@@scottross4374
Ed "Too Tall" Jones took a break in 1979 to pursue a Boxing Career. What happened to Charlie Waters and Hollywood Henderson?
@ Waters missed all of 1979 with an injury and Landry cut Hollywood before Thanksgiving game I think because he was so arrogant and disrespectful
