Beautiful stitching! The toweling you showed is absolutely gorgeous!! ❤ Your little tomato lady is adorable! I need to make myself one like that! I’ve seen ones that others have stitched but yours has inspired me to make one too. I hope I can do a standup as well as you did. 🤞 Thanks for sharing your stitching with us! 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
Thank you for watching! I am always amazed at the detail of vintage and antique items. The weave and the texture in the fabric for the dish towing was absolutely stunning. I’m so glad it came through on camera. it certainly inspires me. I hope you’re having a weekend full of Stitching all the things you love.
Your hexagon framed chintz blocks are absolutely stunning! I look forward to seeing your September Sampler progress. Working away on my Corliss hexagon quilt center, but excited about stitching on a towel when kits become available. Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!
So happy to hear from you, and I am delighted that you are enjoying stitching your hexagons!!!! I look forward to senior progress❤ thank you so much for joining me today and I hope your weekend is full of happiness with Needle and thread!
Such brilliance, Susan. I enjoyed every minute of this video. I finished both of my EPP flowers and need to cut some more hexis to keep up on my skills. I loved the ideas for monogramming. A water soluble waste canvas could also work well on a tighter weave. Thank you for your generous creative heart. Enjoy your Labor Day. ❤❤❤
What a great and inspiring video! Love the chintz blocks you are doing. Love the towels and the texture on each one. Your Sampler September looks awesome! Thank you for sharing everything. I have some of my Aunts towels and they were embroidered and some were used for her bread that she made. I still can remember kneading the bread with her and then using the towels to let it rise.
@@reneebebla422 Such amazing memories …baking with loved ones. The pastry cloths have been through so much!!! I love knowing others who cherish these items too! Thank you for visiting with me today!
So happy to see your latest video, Susan. I am working on my hexagons and I'm very excited to be making progress on the Corliss project. It is very fun. Loved seeing the towel with her initial. That would be an easy project to do. I would be interested in that, too. Your tomato girl is just precious and you did an excellent job on the finishing. Of course, all of your WIPS are exquisite. Have a great labor day weekend. 🥰 Pam Miller
@@wooleygirl5240 thank you so much for joining me today, Pam! I’m so happy to hear you’re having fun on the hexagon project!!!! I think it’s a very relaxing project and so satisfying as it goes together rather quickly. Thank you so much for your comment and I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well.
You are so inspirational, Susan! Your hexagon framed chintz blocks are stunning, and your little tomato girl is adorable. I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on those beautiful samplers in September - as well as joining in on making some towels when the kits are available. Meanwhile, have a happy Labor Day weekend!
@@barbarafoster9030 so lovely to hear from you Barbara and I think you will enjoy the dish towel stitch as it is so quick and satisfying! Thank you for being a part of the Stitching journey, and I look forward to hearing about your progress on your hexagon as well.
Hi Susan. I’d be interested in a kit for the towels. They are so pretty. As a weaver, I love to see how the towels were woven. I’m not an expert on weaving, but it’s fun to recognize the different patterns. Can’t wait to hear more on Corliss and how she put together her items for setting up her home. This has been so fun to learn the history of all this in the 1800’s. I was wondering about prices for fabrics and clothes. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn how it was to make clothing and household items. ❤
@@conniesimonich2327 I have been fascinated by the variety of weaving options for towels and their specific uses!!! It’s amazing as we typically have a one dish towel for all lifestyle’s !!! There’s always so much to discover and learn about textile history. I’m so excited you want to try a dish towel. It was very fun and satisfying.
When I was a child we did a embroidery style on huck toweling. I wonder if it the same cloth? It involved weaving the stitches in and out. I think we called it Swedish weaving. My great aunt especially was the one who taught me and my sister. She was a farmer in middle Ohio. She was born about 1900. I don’t have any pieces we did but I think my sister might. Those blocks with the scenes surrounded by hexies are gorgeous. I’ve stalled on my Lucy Boston project. I do think I’ve arrived at how to finish the edges of the wallhanging.
I hope you can find your childhood stitching!!!! How fortunate to have learned Swedish Weaving. It’s gorgeous and I would love to see your examples. I am happy to hear that you have figured out a way to finish your Lucy Boston. It’s such a beautiful quilt and need to be gracing your bed or a wall!
I'm only 25 minutes in but oh my goodness, Susan, those appliqued panels with the hexagons - absolutely stunning. You are a true artist and I can't wait to see what you do with them. Beautiful, beautiful work - fabulous choices and fabulous technique.
Thank you so much, Katie . that means a lot coming from you! It’s going to be an interesting challenge making them all work together, but I think it will also be fun. Thanks for joining me today.
I love the chintz blocks you are doing.! I would be interested in more information on how to do fussy cutting. Also how you select the fabrics. Please!
I will definitely be looking forward to seeing your progress on your four chosen projects. And of course to learning more about Corliss. And all of it! Thanks, Susan.

Arrgh! I wish I had just one form of needlework that I loved! The quilt is gorgeous and your tomato girl is just a darling. Enjoying Corliss' journey and seeing your samplers in progress. Every day is just filled with decisions of choice - what do I turn to work on today?????
@@marialicemorales4186 We are so lucky to have so many choices and options!!!! I can’t just pick one form of Needlework either. I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re stitching today. Thanks for joining me. Great to hear from you.
I might have to invest in a copy of the Scarlet Letter "Fruit Tree with Two Animals". It is so pretty - I'm just not sure... I feel a little sorry for the lamb on the wolf's back. 😳 Have a great weekend and see you next time! ❤
@@feidie64 I know how you feel about the lamb on the back of the wolf. It’s kind of strange to see that depicted in Needlework I contemplated changing it, but it’s so much a part of the story of this stitched piece! I hope you do get the chart and start it. I don’t think you’ll regret it. The colors are just so inspiring and every stitch adds so much depth.
Enjoyed your video enormously. Happy stitching
