Yes! I save fabrics to touch and look at. Eventually I will use them 😊. I love your lessons and stories! Thank you so much! Enjoy your family time and celebrations!
What a delightful story you have created about Corliss and the sewing circle. It was so fun to hear you tell it. Congratulations on your son's upcoming wedding. I know it will be a beautiful and memorable event. Enjoy yourself and we will see you next month! Pam Miller
You are so fantastic and I love so much! You bring so much joy to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so grateful for you. I couldn’t be more sincere.
I love your videos. They are so informative. I have learned so much watching you and you have sparked my passion in quilting especially for reproduction fabric 😍😍
I know what you mean about saving fabric you love. I do that too and just recently I had a quilt top machine quilted and it’s on my bed. My poor husband, if he’s heard it once he’s heard it many more times than he’d ever like, hears me lament how I wish so much that I still had yards and yards of certain fabrics I see in that quilt. I know that I should be enjoying and thankful that I have those fabrics in that scrappy quilt but oh how I wish I had more so I could make more things with those fabrics. I love what I love and apparently I need tons of yards of it! Love your story. Those hexagons are somewhat like potato chips, you can’t just make one! Enjoy this wedding season and see you when it is over.
It has been so fun and I’m so happy to hear you like this fictional world as a way to learn about historic Stitching!!!! I am thoroughly enjoying it and I’m so happy to share it with you
Absolutely brilliant, Susan. I love following the story of the two little girls. You are such a treasure. Best wishes on the upcoming wedding. Such a happy time for family. Thank you for sharing and keeping me company. ❤
Susan, I just came across some youtube videos made by "The Quilt District." She tours the Sewn in America exhibition at the DAR museum in DC and is hosted by Alden O'Brien (I hope I got that correct), curator of the exhibit. It is very interesting, and I hope you get a chance to view it.
Thank you so much for thinking of me! I have been posting about this exhibit on Instagram and I’m so excited you found it yourself. I sure wish I could attend. It looks fantastic.
It always makes my day to see a new flosstube up from you, Susan! It was so enjoyable to sit and stitch while listening to Corliss' story, and I can't wait to hear what's next. Selfishly, I will miss your flosstubes while you are focusing on joyful life events, but so much love and happiness to your son, and I hope you have the chance to fully appreciate and soak in all the joy of the coming events.
Thank you so much, dear Katie for all those beautiful well wishes! I’m glad you’re able to listen while you stitch !!!! I truly appreciate your consistent support. It means so much.
As a avid book reader all my life, I have enjoyed following your fictional story in these videos. Not to mention all the beautiful stitching you share:)
Well, I do not consider myself a writer in anyway, but it has been so fun to create this story as a way to relate to Stitching in the past! Thank you so much for participating and commenting and encouraging this adventure. I hope you’re working on something beautiful todayand your needle and thread does everything you want it to!
The DAR exhibit was wonderful. Took a trip to DC from PA to see this exhibit as well as the stunning Amish quilt exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Well worth the travel! Also just planned a road trip to NC next month to see Layered Legacies: Quilts from the Museum of Southern Decorative Arts at Old Salem.
