hey, thank you so much guys! the video hit 1 million views!
I love this movie and you did a really nice job with this piece.
I love the movie.
This is one of the greatest movies of all time in my opinion!!!!
Shut up
It is shit
This movie gets no where near the appreciation it deserves.
Preach
Real life shit
I don’t know I appreciated it 4 times
It's mediocre
Well, I appreciate it, and I am happy this guy edited it
His transformation was absolutely top notch. It gets no better as far as character development
Walter white: hold my beer
@@Theboyfugzhard Movies vs Tv show my guy
Malik played by Tahar Rahim in A Prophet is pretty good too
Whyd you beat that toad ?
Yes, it does.
This movie was so well studied, all the gangs, the tattoos, the slang. Superb sound design and soundtrack too.
The system is terrible.
One, bad mistake a man makes. One bad mistake. He owns up to it.
But....what? He could have made up for it and proving himself by helping ignorant inmates to read and write.
But no! The system puts people like this in fear. Do something if someone challenges you! Especially if you're Caucasian! No disrespect to others. I understand that the Southern Mexicans and Paisas ride with Woods (Whites) now.
But, as a White boy. If I was a young man...I'll probably going to do something stupid to "prove" myself.
Damn, everyone deserves a second chance.
Not really. Guys like that are state raised. Meaning they have spent their entire lives behind bars. All those tattoos are earned. Each letter. It takes a lot of time. But all in all, yes, it is better than most. Felon is a good one too, with Val Kilmer.
@@mlizarburu Wipe the rabid foam from your chin and start again.
No happy ending, no warm embrace at the end, just the truth of convict life....Great film
He should have recieved an oscar for this
Absolutely agreed.
What the fuck are you talking about?
Its too edgy for that IMHO
oscars are for people who suck off the establishment and kiss the hollywood elites assholes
100%
Hollywood only rewards pussies and woke shit.
THis movie was soul crushing. I've watched it several times, and it always hits me the same way. How it illustrated what one bad decision can do to an average citizen. I can't even imagine that scenario without getting nauseous. How this movie didn't get the recognition it deserved is beyond me.
Felon is also a good one.
Check out
A broken paradigm book by boxer,
He was incarcerated in pelican Bay part of the Nuestra Familia.
Shot caller
I’ve seen almost every prison movie. I won’t lie, IMHO, this, Shot caller is the best! Just the story of it alone, An innocent mistake, Changed multiple peoples lives, Not just his, Not just his family, But the prisoners he served with. Hands down BEST prison movie I’ve seen, AND it’ll take a lot, ALOT to top this one!
This was a great movie and shows how people get institutionalized.
what's the movie name
@@xryzengamingx3589 shot caller
No. He was never institutionalised, he just was afraid for his life and family. But in reality the premise of a simple man getting invol9is tottaly idiotic. You need ties and if course they would never put him over there.
Lol no it doesn't. The movie is certainly entertaining but also super stretched. The plot is kind of silly. I still thought it was great!
nah it was more about how prison rarely reforms a man and in fact can turn a good man evil because of what he needs to do to survive. Its basically stating the prison system is broken
This movie is so much deeper than you'd think a prison movie would be. Great acting throughout and some really emotional moments.
Bro this movie shows how an accident can screw you more then being a real criminal...
The first time I saw this I was shocked how well the film was put together. One of the best prison films massively underrated.
hands down.
In the end, he sacrificed his life inside prison for the safety of his family. This is what I liked most about this film
A warrior's deadliest weapon is his mind.
I remember watching this on Netflix a few year back and saying to myself, WOW.... How did this not get promoted at all when it was released.
Yeah, a real banger of a movie. Fierce. Title should have been How to Build a Gang Leader.
@@brianswitzerbbmw It was a dark as hell movie, but fairly similar to what really goes on in the prison system. Not exactly 100% accurate, but a very good movie.
@@coryboy345 My brother has been in and out of prison all his adult life- medium security mostly, he's never been in a gladiator camp like the ones in the movie. We don't talk much about what it's like for him inside. The food, boredom, red tape, stuff like that. But we've never talked about what he's had to do to get by. He fought a lot in his younger days and spent a lot of time in the hole- but he fought a lot on the outside too, so I don't know if he was fighting off advances or beating up a guy for taking to long on the phone. Now that we're both pushing old he's settled into a pretty easy routine and even got a couple of surgeries for nagging problems he couldn't have gotten help with on the outside. He comes home again in September. He's always been a popular guy with drugs falling out his asshole and his pick of the hot girls at the club. But this time he'll be a fifty year-old unemployable guy with a limp and a chip on his shoulder. He's been inside long enough this stretch that most of his drug connections are dead, in jail, or gone straight. I can easily see him going back because that's what he's comfortable with and he won't have that lifestyle on the outside this time. Anyway, I kinda zig-zagged. Because we don't talk about what his prison life is like, I have to imagine a middle ground between movies like this and what little bit I do know.
@@brianswitzerbbmw Sad for your brother, but apples and oranges comparison even with that comparison. A super max high security prison is no joke, and this movie really did touch base on what it's like living in one. Medium security prisons are like a 5 star hotel compared to a super max, which are designed to house the worst of the worst.
@@coryboy345 Oh really? You mean medium security and Supermax aren't exactly the same? I had no idea! What next- there's a difference between ribeye and hamburger? What other things everybody in the world knows can you tell me about? You must be a WIZARD!
Man. Some people just can't help be a dick. Bless your heart. Have a nice life.
The most tragic hero story ever told in movies or literature. Why? Because unlike other heroes who are recognized for their deeds, Jacob Harlon never tells anyone, not even his own family, why he did what he did to protect his family. Thus, his sacrifice and heroism are never honored or memorialized. The only small satisfaction Jacob has at the end is his son's letter, and even then Jacob's true legacy will never be known and die with him.
man this movie is top 10 for me along with American history x, you can really feel the raw emotional pull and it could be so relatable if things turned out this way in your life
Have you seen brawl on cell block 99
You probably haven’t seen “American Me”
Basically this X10 for Hispanics
Best "Don't drink and drive" PSA ever.
One of the best movies in the last 20 years. One Brotherhood ❤
This movie is a series of increasingly bigger gut punches. It's definitely in my top 5 all times.
Hands down🙏🏻
This movie is very underrated and as a father it breaks my heart.
dude im not a father probably never will (to much depression) and it still breaks my heart something has to be done about our criminal justice system it can be done better it has to be done better.
@@hardwirecars fuck the system. It will all crumble. You will be a father.
Same here bro, I couldn't imagine being separated from any of my children like that.
This movie isn't that good. Stop getting your heart broken by a low rate prison drama, you're weak as hell man, it's just a movie stupid.
Who ever said this movie was underrated
You missed the scene where Money was driving down the road, then roll down the windows and stick his hands out to feel the wind of freedom for one last time. That scene was so subtle yet so strong in the feel.
This film needed to be a series with 6/7 seasons, like breaking bad we needed time to see the character change
Damn! Never thought about this, that’s great idea
Essentially watching Tobias beachers character change throughout the show OZ
The past from some characters in the movie would be interesting, this could be an insane series.. not only the past, but just more from everyone, that movie is just way too good, my favourite with some others tho 🔥
FACTS
Bro what a great idea!!
dont drink and drive
That stuff changes thousands of people's lives every year.
This film, like life, taught me, there is no sympathy, nobody is there when the chips are up. It's just you. Nobody can answer for life's great predicaments like life can. Whether you like it or not. It's there.
Edit: Og's remember when this song edit was simply called "The Way" with Jacob Harlon
Exactly, one of best prison movies hands down
My friend was indicted for complete BS the charges later dropped all his friends and even family dropped him like a hot rock, only I stayed by him
100% correct. I’ve done shovel and turning a negative into a positive is the only way. No one knows what prison time is like until you’ve do it, no one. Nothing in life can prepare you for it, nothing. It took 8 years on the out for my time in the system for it to effect me and when it came you realise you have been broken. The negative into a positive starts all over again rebuilding your mind. Time TV series with Sean Bean is the closest I’ve seen to real life, took me 2 weeks to escape dreams etc after watching it.
Well said brother, but to know that you'd have to have experienced it, like I think you did as I

2 months now and still I feel the pain of my broken relationship these days, I have to fight for it and give redemption for myself. Mad respect on this clip! My life has hope to move forward no matter what, I have to be stand strong on my new path thanks to this movie.
this movie conveyed the fear when you step into prison and the confusion after when you can no longer be the same person you were.
It's a crime this movie only made 3.4 million. Such a great movie.
At the end I was hoping for the happy ending and he would have taken the deal but I understand why he didn't. Just shows how changed and broken a man can become if he is forced into a life he didn't have a choice in.
Best movie I have ever seen. It covers a real possibility in America accurately. This could really be you if you don’t call an Uber.

As a father I couldn't imagine having to say that to my son. Absolutely heartbreaking
You wouldn't be able too, because you are weaker than he is. You are pathetic.
100% same here
I don’t know how this got in my feed but I am loving it
Thank you so much Matthew!
Skvelá pieseň. Ďakujem za dobrú náladu
My life has taken more turns than you would believe. The one thing I hold onto is my utter conviction of trying to do good around those I consider close. Amen.
The movie really shows how terrible prison really is: He goes from a caring father to a hardened convict (still a caring father, of course), just like that
Lol it wasn't "jst like that"
I have this movie and must have watched it over Dozen time's, its a great story.
Me too, when I realize this edit I know every single lines and quotes from the script 😂🤞🏻
I like how with the comforting scenes there are also discomforting scenes in between. It shows you the full content of what's in this package. Great edit!
“It’s over. Forget I exist.” As painful as that was for him to utter, he knew he was locked into a deeper hole than she could possibly imagine.
What a great movie!!! Jaime Lannister’s finest work. This actually makes up for the final season of GOT and Gods of Egypt.
The Jamie Lannister performance was the most underrated of the entire series, he killed that role.
Gods of Egypt was dope
Now this is a film that does not need the Oscars but the Oscars need films like this
I never knew about this film and caught it one night on TV and was not disappointed, definitely up there in my top 10.
You should be fighting Russians in Ukraine you Nazi fuck ....but like all Nazi ducks you ain't got bolls....
I watched a foreign movie this week. something I almost never do and was really blown away at how good the movie was. the film called Bullhead (2011). If you don't mind listening to another language and reading subtitles, I recommend this movie.
you talk about it like its a mediocre piece... "i was not disappointed". Malaka, for it to be in my top 10, it has got to blow me away!
One of my all time favorites and best prison movie ever!!
Me too George!🙏🏻
Nikolaj Deserved and Oscar for this performance sooner or later he will win an oscar the movie was incredible..
agreed
one of the few movies I paid for in recent years. I couldn't resist after seeing the trailer. It didn't disappoint. They picked a GREAT cast for this movie as well (just very convincing in their roles), including Jeffrey Donovan playing a small part in the movie.
Literally one of my favorite movies ever watched. Tell everyone to watch this movie because that's so well done. Your editing and music are done just as well very impressive you should have many more subscribers and viewers May everyone learn about it. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing your other work glad to stumble across it have a great day everybody. All the love, all the power.
Such an under rated movie. I love movies that tell a real story...a movie that tells a real life story...a unique story about what happens to some people in real life..
Shot caller is very well directed and they actors were on point as well,
one of the extremely underrated movies of all time.
Great cut Zijkl! Honored you put this much time to retell our story... appreciate the love! Yours, Ric Roman Waugh
Thanks, appreciate your words🙏🏻
Best prison movie there is!!!! Blood in blood out is second! This movie showed it all! The innocent, A simple mistake, The hard times he went through just to make it, At first it was about himself, Then he did what he did to protect his family, He had to, Or they were dead. Hands down best Prison movie I’ve seen!!!! Needs more attention!!! There’s plenty of well known actors in this movie and for some reason it’s kept under lock and key! Why!? It should be free agian like it was a couple months ago!!! Everyone did a great job of acting, Cheddar Bob! Shane! 😢 please someone that can control it, Please make this movie free again!!! I’d love to watch it again, But I can’t afford rent and groceries, and animals, I’m fixing to be homeless on my 30th. Month and a half away, July 1st. Best movie I’ve seen in years, And is in my top 3. I just wanna be able to watch it one more time without having to pay a ridiculous amount
My real life was basically a rendition of this...the gang my father was in is actually depicted in this movie. Thank you pops for showing me not what i didnt want for life rip
I really like this movie. It’s so underrated. I’m glad my transformation was the other way around and I changed my ways before I got in too deep and couldn’t leave.
I couldn't find it in me to comment on such an excellent movie....
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain
One of the best movies ever made! Always a favorite of mine. Good work on this short fan trailer
One of my favourite movies, I found this film through Iron wolf in lockdown.
The infamous:-“SA’s & Woods 500 navy seals Ripper count ‘em scene.”
Over 30,000+ burpee counts later an still to this day 500 navy seals was the hardest of them all.
Will forever hold a place with me this film 💪
Led me down a path to discovery people like:-

This is my number 1 movie.I must have watched it thousand times. It touched me deep. How things get rolled up and make us villains.
The scene with his son - for me as a father - unimaginable. Damn, so intense, a few weeks I thought about it - it should be more more appreciated movie for sure.
That hit me hard too for some reason.
If you ever been to prison you'll feel this. The losing family part and the stress of prison did for me anyway.
This movie was amazing......watched it 3 times....wicked good!!!
Damn…. I finally watched this 2 months ago. I still feel some type a way after. This was a heavy movie.
We all started out as someone's little angel.
The ending of this movie is amazing
I have to say that this film and the 13th warrior are the two must underrated films of the past 40 years!!!...
Better than ANY movie produced by hollywood the last 10 years.
A must see movie if you havent you lost out on a great experience.
The levels of this movie… the son trying to help… him only showing emotion with his family… and the closure for everyone at the end with the beast gone and the letter of forgiveness from his son
I wonder how many lives have actually ended up as sad this...
Terrible thing, when something can alter your life in such a way.
That's a good man being true to himself with his fate, and exempting what he had to do to protect the people who he loves.

This movie was so phenomenal I watched it for Jon Bernthal but Nikolaj absolutely killed this role. Unforgettable movie.
