@SetupManCubs just sent the email I also don't have baseball trade values. I don't want to Pay for something that should be fun thing to do so it's just a regular written out trade.
AFV is "Actual Field value" on the trade simulator is basically how they evaluate a players worth based on WAR, salary(whether that player costs more the longer you have them), team control(yrs remaining on contract), injury risk factor, and more. So the higher that number the better the player...i dont know how the surplus works out exactly but AFV makes a little more sense f9r me lol
I think I read that pitchers are typically lower on the AFV because they are more prone to Injury and/or more likely to miss time because of an Injury. Also, for the Nestor trade ,his surplus is high, at least in part, because he will likely be available to move or become expendable at the end of next season...Cody being moved is low which affects his Surplus as well
I really like the Chris Bassitt trade. I don't care for the Yankees trade at all. The Yankees farm system is bereft of talent and you want to add another Moises Ballesteros plus a better version of Javier Assad to the system just to dump some salary. I don't see why you appear to have no interest in trading for one of the top catching prospects (Kyle Teel, Samuel Basallo or Dalton Rushing). Ethan Salas is only in A+, he's too far away I get that, but Rushing (Dodgers) and Basallo (Orioles) both appear to be blocked at the MLB level. The bum of the month club (O'hoppe, Rice, Danny Jansen, Tucker Barnhart, etc.) ain't ever going to get it done.
Don't understand why people want to trade proven performers. use $ to get Fried. Keep Bellinger. Use cash to get d'Arnaud. Use money freed up by declining team option on Smily to get Miller and Lopez back. Win the division in 2025. Oh, and just to get it out there, Beuhler does not seem like a good deal--he got hot at the right time but he was a liability for most of their season.
Bellinger has been good for the Cubs. But not $27.5 mil good in 2024. Im not unhappy about him opting in, but I do think that money could have been better spent.
Sorry but why would the team trade for pitching when there are so many options out there on the market this year? They can go high upside in trading for the likes of Alcantara / Mcclanahan from the usually dumpster selling Marlins or Rays. They could also try to go for Montgomery whom his owner said was the worst contract he ever signed to see if he bounces back. Lastly they can go cheaper options like Bieber / Buehler whom would be looking for a bounce back short term contract. Don't think cheap Jed and Tom will go after Burnes / Snell / Fried the expensive ones but, why trade away a needed lefty bat in the lineup for a position that there are so many options to choose from? I'd rather Jed take some from Martinez / Manaea / Eovaldi / Quintana / Kikuchi / Perez / Boyd than trading for Cortes.
@@ChairmanMeow1 Why in the world does the CHICAGO CUBS need to be so sensitive about the PAYROLL for. Spend like the Dodgers or the Yanks then I can understand that payroll maybe a problem.
The “Cubs” aren’t sensitive about payroll. Ricketts is. He’s not the Steinbrenner family or Steve Cohen. He spends, but within reason. And, Jed hasn’t made the most of the spending (plus too many no-trade clauses)
@@SetupManCubs I do not like Jed a lot but, he was dealt a bad hand after Theo had left. He did rebuild and try to contend a bit at the same time. Didn't work out but, he's made decent moves to get the team back to a decent state. Imagine if this team were to have held on to the 2016 guys. Now that would have been a disaster.

Lol. Bellinger, Horner and Steele for Stroman, nobody and a video of Yankee fielding lessons. Go get it Jed!

@@SetupManCubs I love the stream/channel and just like to help where I can
I actually think the NYY (who also need pitching) will go after Crochet - trading away Dominguez.
I can see that too
I really believe if the Cubs trade Bellinger, they will be sorry, always happens.
Can I make a trade for Laugh at one?
I have a few not so serious trade proposals.
@@RojoCube sure!

I hate that trade BELLY FOR BASSET.
@@mikestuhr2797 you should have seen the other options. Not many to pick from
