This is how we make it in the south, except we added meringue or if we were in a hurry, we would add whip cream! Thank God for our momma's and grandmas that took the time to teach us to cook! Love this!❤

A labor of LOVE. Such a joy to watch and learn. My 87 mother-in-law taught me how to make banana pudding - but I've yet to make it alone. I learned some really helpful tips from your video. Amazing that these two women made this delicious dessert for their children and grandchildren for many years- by themselves. I would need at least four hands!

Love this! Cooking with your elders is something we everyone should be doing. Their knowledge can never replaced. Once they’re gone, all this knowledge is gone. I lost my mom 20 years ago and I wish so much that I had done more cooking with her in the kitchen. Thank goodness I learned to cook a few of her dishes because she didn’t use a recipe. It was just a little of this and a dash of that! Nobody can cook like our own mamas did!!! Thanks for sharing this and learn all you can while she’s still here and give her a big hug from me! I just love our elders, they’re so precious!❤

There is a process knowing as tempering where if you need to add egg or egg yolk to a hot mixture you can take a small amount of the hot mixture and wisk the egg/egg yolk as you add the hot mixture. Then pour it to the pot once you finish mixing.

Could you ask your mother-in-law if you can use half vanilla extract and half banana extract?

4cups milk, 3 egg yolks, 1cup sugar, 1/3cup of flour, 1tbsp vanilla wisk until thickened I'm diabetic so I don't use all that sugar I cup is plenty of sugar. Add vanilla wafers and about 5 bananas and start layering.

Can I mix cool whip in it still for a little twist?
