I love this history of banana pudding. I want to point out though that bananas originated in SE Asia and were brought to Africa during the 3rd millennium BC by Asian traders. They began being cultivated in Africa in the 6th century CE.

So my second momma took me under her wing, as an adult choosing people as family thing. In white she black. She is always making sweet potato pie, bread pudding with the canned fruit in it, peach cobbler, apple pie, etc. I love it! Holidays there is something always baking. Smells so good. I still laugh at the first thanksgiving that I brought food to, I brought mashed potato. I grew up with that, but my version has whipping cream and cream cheese with the stick of butter. Apparently, with much amusement, I learned that it’s a white thing. But now it’s a requirement I bring it :)
