I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. "Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here."
The wavy/slidey stuff at the beginning is actually Justin. He's playing 3 harmonic notes, the first with a tremolo effect, and the last 2 rocking back and forth on a digital whammy pedal.
Maynard is one of those once in a generation vocalists, and there truly is no other band out there like them. They've been around for so long, and they always keep getting better and better with every album. Justin Chancellor is right up there with Les Claypool, and Cliff Burton as far as greatest bassists of all time.
So many people out there are taking medication for stress, anxiety, etc, when all they really need to do is just listen to a tool album each day and your all good, lol
As am I afflicted with bpd and adhd I can relate to this. Tools music has helped me far more than the pharmaceuticals I get given. It is true though its not enough and not that easy. However self improvement, growth and understanding oneself is far more important long term and tools music has helped me realise how to set out and attain that knowledge.
One of my favorite lines in a tool song: Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here
Just saw Tool three plus weeks ago, and they played this very song for the first time in a decade! This bad has been playing since 1991, and they are better than ever!! HIGHLY recommend seeing them live - even from the nosebleeds it's still an incredible experience. It would be incredible if you started from the very beginning of their catalog and went chronologically through every album to see how they have progressed throughout the years. It's a commitment, but so worth it!! Love your reactions, thank you!
Oh man I tried to start in order but no matter what I did, Sweat was just consistently blocked on YT no matter how I edited it. It’s damn good song off a damn good album ❤️.
@@SkyAndersonReactsAhhh, that's too bad! It's so annoying that they have to do that. I would say another Tool song to react to is The Grudge from the Lateralus album!
@@thomasm514 Only thing that you could say is consitant is the that it is progressive.. Only songs that sound the same are because they are supposed to and go a flow of the album lol. Other progressive rock and metal bands are way more repedative
Tool started their North American Tour today. Their music is amazing, but nothing can come close live! You need to see them live, there is no way to explain where this band takes you for a couple of hours!
US Tour / European Tour. They are skipping Canada on this tour unfortunately. I’d love to see them in Buffalo but going to Ween in Pt Chester that weekend ( fingers crossed ). Hopefully next year.
Absolutely dig that you are getting deeper into tool! As far as your next song i would like to see you do 'Reflection'. If you want you could do the entire Triad which is Disposition, Reflection, Triad. Its about 30 mins long but shit, i think wed all watch you watch it lol but at least Reflection, that song has gotten me through some particularly rough moments in my life.
ua-cam.com/video/f5f7g_OIpew/v-deo.html anypath is a great channel for videos btw! This is a live version so its not perfect audio quality so maybe for the video do the album audio link then go to anypath after some bong rips and zone out 😉
Hello Sky. Try the Tool Salival version of Push It, you'll love it the band and Maynard voice are divine on it. Incredible live performance, as usual with Tool
I've been listening to them since I was 12. And Danny playing along with justin has been my crack for years. It's the only reason I stuck with Tool for all these years. Yes Adam a d Maynard as well but they have a different vibe for me when it comes to my spirit Its Danny and Justin for me. Lol
My brother showed me them when I was 7 he is 11 years older was 18. He listened to them younger but he intruded me to them when I was older. I have listened to them from Elementary to High school and beyond! Just over 20 years I have been a fan.
@@Gideonite same here brother my Brother showed me them. We had just moved from Brooklyn New York To Long Beach New York it was 1991 and he had this mix tape and it had all these great bands on it. And Tools song sober was on it and like everyone who heard that song fell in love with them Then the next year in 92 he got the undertow album and we sat there and listened to the whole album and it was phenomenal we even sat there up to the hidden track and it was bonkers. I will cherish that day for the rest of life.
Sky, I'm so glad you enjoy tool! They are currently on tour rn. If they haven't already visited where you reside and its upcoming, I'd love to buy 2 tickets for you and whoever you want to take so that you're able to hear them live! They sound even better in a live setting!
SKY you're missing out on the ENTIRE ALBUM EXPERIENCE. Interludes, Hidden Tracks, Backward Messages, Vinyl, Album Art. Who does that anymore? TOOL freaking does that. ✌
Tools first EP Opiate came out in 1992 and their first album Undertow was out in 1993 (Same year I was born 😁). Then of course AEnima 1996, Lateralus 2001, 10,000 Days 2006, Fear Inoculum 2019. Five full albums and maybe a 6th in 10 years when Danny is 70. 🤣
I learned today that i am a multitasker I learned that my brain has the capacity to enjoy great and complex music and get hot and bothered at the same time. Thanks for the lesson. LOL
Noticed the Slipknot poster in the background. Crazy how they have like 3 drummers and Danny Carey sounds better and more complex than all of them put together. Fucking amazing. Also, if I may request a reaction, have you heard any Rise Against songs? Worth Dying For, The Good Left Undone, Prayer of the Refugee and probably my top 3 by them, in that order lol.
I had a guy at work yesterday ask what my favorite TOOL sing was after I said I was going to their concert at the end of the month. I couldn't answer. I had to give a top 5 but that was kind of a lie as well. 🤷♂️ EDIT: TOOL does not have a bad song!
Please react to Eskimo Callboy - Hypa Hypa (OFFICIAL VIDEO), you will laugh your head off. Great song, musicians and hilarious video. If you like that then checkout out their 2 other really popular videos We Got The Moves and Pump It. These 3 videos have incredibly high production quality levels and these songs are as catchy as hell 😄👍
You will not find 1 bad song on TOOLS entire Discography. Not1. No other band in history can say that. This doesn’t include the fillers and special tracks that are used between the main songs..obviously you will find songs that are not your cup of tea but are still very good songs.

Swap song off undertow is the ish. Fk Undertow off Undertow is the ish. There are so many song by them it's so hard to pick what to suggest to you Sky. Buy Danny goes ham on the old tracks that's its mind blowing.
I actually don't like the 'filler songs' in Fear Inoculum, the flakey stuff in between the awesome masterpieces - and I actually don't mind the similar filler between the songs in the other albums...
