This song is the perfect epitaph for mankind. One of the most heart wrenching piece ever wrote about the dusk of humanity and the total collapse and disappearance of our civilization.
Ehh, we're fine. Homo Erectus used the same stone tool for millenia. At least one douchebag jock will survive and propagate, in all likelihood.
Very well said
Sequel to Aenima in which "arizona bay" is the intro of waves lapping
Please make sure to listen to this again when your new headphones arrive. All Tool songs are sound great in headphones, but this one in particular.
I seen Tool live in 93, 98, 2002, 2007, 2019, 2020, never disappoint. Their shows in 98 Maynard still was upfront, the Salival Live show 98 is just incredible. Delaware or something, you got to find that show on UA-cam, incredible. Yes Adam plays Les Pauls, gibsons, he has a signature guitar now but he always have played Gibsons
Totally right. If anyone is a "new Pink Floyd", it's Tool. They're often called "progressive" metal/rock, a very broad category that basically means they have experimental elements, sounds/instruments not usual in rock/metal, or a mix of different genres, often with very skilled musicianship. Progressive metal's my jam! 🤘...and looking abd sounding great as always, sweet Sky!😍
How about Opeth or NeObliviscaris brother?
I agree with that assessment, but I would add that it also means that the music builds and changes as it goes, moreso than one would expect from, say pop music, and definitely with a much wider dynamic range.
Such a deep song. The verse " Sound the dread alarm, through the primal body, stay the grand finale. Stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue." Such a great and powerful warning for us to wake up and take some action to prevent our extinction. That was my take from it anyway, like with most all Tool songs everyone has their own take.
I love how the puffs increase in frequency as the intensity of the music develops. One of many proper ways to enjoy the works of Tool. 🔥🌀🔥
The goosebumps and chills I feel all over my body when listening to this song... Unbelivably powerful song.
Sky, I love your appreciation for Tool. Keep rockin'. 🤘
The last time I saw Tool was on 01/19/22 San Diego, since I’m a Tool Army member I got VIP tickets thru the Tool Army website ended up with 5th row floor seat center section and early entry which let me buy a concert poster signed by Tool. Only 600 posters printed and the band typically will sign around 75 posters. Adam did some special art work to the poster I bought with his signature. I have poster 109 out of 600. I saw both Tool dates in San Diego before Covid shut down the Tour before this last tour.
Was there TooL brethern 🤘🤘🤘
such a masterpiece .... from so many perspectives.....TOOL is important!!!
At first listen, I teared up, the composition is perfection! Love this song. And I love your reactions sky!
That sound effect you were asking about is a keyboard synthesizer Adam is playing while looping his own guitar parts with a looping effect pedal. He does it live on stage as well.
YES … N IM PRETTY SURE MAYNARD HAS A KEYBOARD AS WELL
This is a masterpiece the way it keeps picking up till the end 🔥
My favorite song. I've seen TOOL a handful of times since '98. Looking forward to seeing them in Sacramento next Friday! The musicianship is incredible. I hope you get to see them one day!
Saw them last year. Best live band from the 90s in my opinion.
i agree Tool reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd for some reason. I just zoned out and stared at that poster in the background of Tom Hanks from the movie Cast Away.
I’ve seen this live twice now, the sound effect you mentioned is Maynard on the synth. Thanks for your reaction.
Always love watching you listen to Tool 👊🏽🤩
A lot say their best song.
So atmospheric. Perfect headphone / devils lettuce material to veg out to!
Awesome reaction video, gotta love Tool! This song is amazing from beginning to end.
Seen tool 14 times live......light show second to no one! Even outside at festivals they still sound perfect. #WEALLHUMAN🌍✌
I’ve only seen them once back in the 90’s.
I believe that sound you are referring to at around 12:30 is Adam triggering a foot controlled synth. He basically steps on the notes on the ground beside his pedal board. He's done this a few times but this one I've seen him do live and it's for sure impressive to see him do it while juggling that rhythm he has going on in that part!
This is amazing live! Just like the whole concert! Do not pass up any opportunity to see them live!
Watching ur reaction actually made me ❤ this song even more 🤗
A weird thing i had with this song, it was when the pandemic was really hitting. I'm in Ireland but i remember on the tv images of that military hospital ship docked in new york and in cork they had the military setting up filed tents outside city hall, and the siren beacon from one of the big buildings. The lyrics being sung by maynard "mobilise, stay alive". Gave me such a weird sense of hope and melancholy at a weird time in our lives.
Yep a masterpiece of the "progiest" degree! Tool has the uncanny ability to create songs with transcendent meanings and whose musical accompaniment supports these elusive lyrics. I'm a Rush fan, but Danny's the G O A T. As a guitarist, I am in awe of Adam's ability to create mood with cosmic tones and with such concise interludes. Adam is famous for his gorgeous 79' Les Paul, Silverburst Custom. I think Gibson created a replica line of this ax? Great take on a phenomenal tune!
I loved this whole damn video and you ended perfectly with the sunglasses 😆
Best quartet of musicians ever🔥
I love tool.
Danny recorded the surf for the beginning and end of the song in Malibu…
Mixed with subtle synth pads, of course.
Imagine see them playing this live.. I would never go home again
Awesome ..and desending is great as well
Adam Jones outsolo just might be one of the best ever, top 5 at the very least. Right up there with the dualing solo between Joe Walsh and Don Felder from Hotel California and Eddie Van Halen's outsolo on Mean Street. His use of the slide, talk box and other effects is absolutely incredible. Additionally, Maynards lyrics amazing. Mind totally BLOWN!
Tell me you haven't heard a lot of music without telling me you haven't heard a lot of music.
i like how her reaction at 9:20 was to just shake her head and light up again. This shit is so good it defies explanation.
My favorite song(s) by Tool Lateralus and Descending and all their other songs!!! Definitely give it a listen when you have new headphones…
Good taste!
You know I'm always here for a tool review
They write the music before Maynard steps in!! That’s impressive
Toolgasm!
The best band of my lifetime!
This is some of Adam Jones best work.
🤘🏼My favorite band🤘🏼
My favorite band since my teens oh man high school feels so long ago
Stereo, stereo, stereo. Lyrics, lyrics, lyrics. 🖤🤘🏾🖖🏿
That bowl looked dead halfway through the song. Needed a topping off for sure 😂
👋Sky. Thanks a lot! Nice ❤️
Pay extra for seats that are somewhat close because Danny is entertaining live. Try to be somewhat centered because the lighting and effects are
transcendent. Enjoy!
I was fortunate enough to be at the back of the Staples Center on the first leg of this tour. And I stood right underneath Kobe's Jersey while Justin's bass punched holes through my chest. It don't matter if you're at the front or the back this is something that will reach you wherever you are
Epic goodness!
Nobody gives Justin more love than you... thank you.
Have to give the Bassists credit, not as prominent among other instruments/vocals, but maintains the warmth!
Great song you need to do a reaction to 7empest
please 7empest
The one Tool album I don’t have 😢. Sounds like a must have album. Great reaction video Sky. I blaze along with you. 🤘🤘
You can stream it free on Spotify. But if you really need the cash I'm sure a member of the Tool Army, including myself will send you $15 to buy it somewhere. Correction, sorry, some of those limited edition are well over a couple hundred dollars now LOL
Nice shirt.
SKY! 🔥♥️🔥
BEST SONG EVERRRR!!!
Don’t sleep on Adam j🎸🔥
I was grounded in HS in 1997 when I saw Tool live for a month. I took my mom to the concert in 2022 and she loved it and ate her first edible. Sweet huh?
Descending alright
Lol when I was in high school in the early 2000s I was listening to Tool a lot. I’ve got to admit it’s weird to see women loving Tool, because back then I didn’t know a single chick who knew who Tool was. 😂 btw, of all their songs on all their albums this is by far my favorite.
beewwwwwbsss
Reaction to 7empest by tool you will love it
🤘🏻🌀
13:57 Unlocking life… 🌀😢
I love you so much
✌️
My Sleeping Karma for Tool fans, I also like Heilung.
I've always liked weird or different music, I was the awkward ADHD kid.
Fan of Rob Zombie, interesting
I’m mainly a fan of White Zombie
I love seeing your reactions to Tool it's what brought me to your channel!
Is there any chance you could react to Danny Elfman's Happy? I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by it!

Holy shit you are beautiful and badass👍
Hey gorgeous.
I finally got a chance to listen to this reaction.
Love it.. tool.. what can u say?? 🤯
They say Metallica is the kings of transitions but I say they were the original kings ...guess who is the current kings ?
Yup, no king sits on the throne forever. Although I find it hard to believe that any band will top these guys. Even a 100 years from now when we're dead and gone, I just can't imagine anyone being as unique and monumentally bad ass as these absolute geniuses that just ooze raw talent with everything they put out.
Tool review using one ear-piece is like doing the lottery without spending money.
Its just not happening is it ;)
I have both ear buds in
@@SkyAndersonReacts Well it`s time to pull them out I guess

“Momma Sed” (from V Is For Versatile)
“Indigo Children” (from V Is For Versatile)
One does simply not listen to Tool with ear buds 😒
Sky if there is any chance you could react to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals song "The Lion The Beast The Beat" I just know that it's Vibe, Sound, and Energy is right up your alley
Do me a favor I have requested songs in the past but I don't think you got to them I would love for you to do a perfect circle the noose
Great song but it's too long for me personally . They need to know when to end!
Then you'll hate 7empest :P
