Music is energy is emotion.. and TooL knows this like not other.. I visited their concert last week and I really felt in my body and soul... seriously.. thanks for this one
To me, this is THE BEST COVER of all time! TOOL as my personal favorite band, and Led Zep is the greatest of all time. Win/win. Sky! Omg, you nailed it on this one!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I call this my ultimate goosebump song! So many levels of greatness! I love Led Zeppelin, they were my favorite band growing up, but Tool just high jacked that song! Side note; look at you rocking the turtleneck, still beautiful😘
I remember when I first heard this song I was In the 8th grade [2004] and my brother was a HUGE TOOL fan and we used to put this song on repeat and fall asleep to it almost every nignt for like 3 months straight, at the time I wasn't much of a Tool fan But this song grew on me and now that im 31 years old I'm a die hard TOOL fan and this cover is THE BEST cover song ive ever heard and I listen to a lot of different music and I thank my brother to this day for running TOOL/A Perfect Circle in the ground because as an adult they are one of my all time favorite bands especially TOOL
Apparently, this song didn't make the cut for the Led Zeppelin tribute album Tool did this for. It was said to be too long for the album so as not to cut out another two covers songs... but I firmly believe that Jimmy Page and Robert Plante heard the song and weeped at the shear beauty of it and didn't want a better version than theirs on the album.
Actually, this song was supposed to be on Tool's first album "Undertow". Unfortunately, their label had a problem with it and complained that they were being paid for 10 original songs, not 9 songs and a cover. Even so, Tool still tried to get this song on the album and the label threatened to sue them for breach of contract. Tool backed off and replaced it on the album with the song "Disgustipated".
I was fortunate enough to see Tool Halloween night 2015 at MonsterMash music fest... This was their first show in years. They came out on stage dressed as Led Zeppelin and started the show off with this. That show was a transformative experience for me. Beauty.
Years? It had been 18 months since their last live show...(2014 spring tour in Phoenix, AZ of all places)...not the 1st time but certainly the last time playing "Third Eye(Salival)" at that particular show🤩
An amazing cover !!! Love the Zep version , but this in my opinion blew it away… Tool is such a talented band all around… Great choice! I’d be happy to take you to see Tool in New York… 😁
One of the best covers in my opinion, two of my favorite bands of all time coming together. They where all influences by Led Zeppelin and they all did them justice and more. Love how they stay true to the original vibe and then add have it their on spin, especially at the end, all tool there. Still get chills when Maynard came in on that first verse after hearing this for 10,000 time.
Saw them perform this in Orlando and I gotta say that it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I’ve been to many shows and have seen a lot of epic shit.
Tools songs just never get old. The creativity of the band and Maynard's style is great. I hope we get to see that Cradle of Filth Nymphetamine Fix reaction 🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤🖤

Just went solo & saw Tool in Dublin a few weeks back. Have seen them in the US 4x. They have 2 more dates here in Europe and they almost certainly won't tour again until next year. They last played No Quarter 1/2016. You should have went to see them alone as, you know, it is easy to have fun at a Tool concert with 15,000 other Tool fans, just sayin' ...... I always leave a Tool concert with new friends
This video perfectly illustrates why I watch TOOL reaction videos...Watching folks like you literary getting pulled in to the music as it evolves...The 1st and 2nd halves of this video are like 2 different people did it, it's that drastic for me. Folks want to see a GENUINE and most times that's a look or face you make not what you say so don't think you have to say something's good just let me and react naturally! Great video, your best to date imho.
That song was Live !! Saw them 13 times haven’t seen them play this one , But if you ever have a chance to see them , Go !! Just saw them in January, and their light show was insane!! Love your reactions!!
What a great song. And I totally love your emotional reaction, so amazing! Seeing you is the best way to wake up, you are so so so pretty and beautiful! Have a wonderful Monday Sky! Hope to talk to you soon!
This actually is live. It's just not recorded with a shitty cell phone. It was professionally recorded with expensive HD equipment. So although it was tinkered with, weeding out most of the background noise and reverberation, this was performed and recorded on stage live, rather than in a studio. I've seen them live in several venues. Some venues just echo too much and the sound of Maynard's voice really takes over a bit too much. For example, The Electric Factory in Philly is just too small to contain this type of music. But that was back in '96. I remember halfway through the show, my chest felt like I had 300 lbs on it, just from the bass and drums. Then add it Maynard's POWERFUL voice he had at the time. It hurt so good. Definitely an outstanding cover! Don't know which version I like best. Both great! I've seen them 8 times live. Unfortunately, no "No Quarter" for me. But they always put on a phenomenal show. I saw "Pushit" the Salival version, the 1st time they ever performed it live in "97" in Camden, NJ. Mind blown! At 1st, I didn't know what they were playing. Then I recognized the lyrics, and I was like "This is Pushit!". I stood there in the grass in awe. It was absolutely beautiful. It was as if no one else was there. Just me and the greatest band ever. I managed to push them all away. A few years later, Salival came out. When I heard Pushit performed live on Salival, I was ecstatic. Watching it live in that field was AWESOME! I thought I'd never hear that version again. When Salival was released, and I saw Pushit on there, I bought the CD the day it came out. Love the studio version. But watching it live was a whole nother experience for sure. One I'll never forget. God damn this band does soooo much more than most people could even imagine. If you don't like Tool, that's your prerogative. Taylor Swift tickets are always available. Lol! I can't believe how much she bitched and cried about being taken out of the top spot on the Billboard charts when Fear Inoculum came out. Get some talent Swifty. Write your own songs, sing them yourself without lip sincing in concert, and grow up. This isn't a 6th grade talent competition. This is the real world. Tool's got talent yes they do! Tool's got talent not like you! Yey!
Ok, i’m not sure what dimension you came from 😂🤣. As a fan of Tool since 1992 and guy over the age of 50, it makes me so happy to see you getting so into a song like this! My sons are about the same age as you, and we recently saw Tool live. One of the highlights of my life so far! Thank you for this reaction. You give me hope for the future.

Tool was ducking fantastic ! And btw 1st part of the show was another great band, Mastodon, but unfortunately, the sound of the show was not on the top, so i didn't even recognize them at the beginning because of that.
Led Zeppelin became my favorite band bar none when I first "really" listen to them around 2010, I thought they couldn't be touched. In 2016 a friend took me to Nashville to see Tool and they opened with this song, which I had no idea they covered. Needless to say, this Bonnaroo will be my 5th time seeing the best band ever>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tool!
This is waaayyy up there in probably the top 5 of my favorite TooL songs! They took Zep's magical original and made it their b!tch! Not to be crude, but the best way I can describe it is that I always end this song feeling like I just got laid by the entire band. Each of the guys BRINGS it to the 1,000th degree on this. Maynard's vocals are SO powerful! Adam is flowing, liquid gold! Justin's bass is just FILTHY....and then there's Danny Carey (he who rules my ❤️)...he is sheer perfection. I mean, the GONG! UGH! When he strikes that thing it's like he's breaking open my soul. Another song that I feel similarly about is Descending from the Fear Inoculum album. You should DEFINITELY check that one out. Adam and Danny both SHINE and it's definitely a roller coaster ride and a "journey "! I saw them live this year in March and it was beyond EVERYTHING!
