- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share this super awesome exciting meal plan and grocery haul with some food prep and food storage video with you!! haha I am SO pumped about the week of meals I have for my weekly meal plan this week that I plan on doing a what's for dinner video on! per the usual, I picked some really great dinner ideas, can't wait to share them! Then I made my grocery list and headed to Costco to grab what I needed for my meal plan! So I have a Costco haul to share with you too! After the Costco grocery haul I prepped some dinner, I made dinner for that night, and then also made a freezer meal to throw in my freezer for another night - cook once, eat twice, that's what I always say. But here's a bit of bad news.. I think there's something funky going on with my outside fridge.. I'm going to have to look into that. It smells weird, like a chemical... google will probably have some bad news for me but I digress. I feel like a food blogger now... anyway I'll continue. haha after that I finally start some bulk food storage! I've been wanting to do this for so long! always a good idea to have some extra food on hand especially with a big family as we have so I'm very happy to be starting this food storage even if it is a little one. Everyone starts somewhere right! Here is my beginning! Hope you enjoy it all! Stay tuned for if I keep up with it haha

Asking y'all to please continue to pray for my hubby and I. He goes next week to a Pulmonary specialist to see if he can have surgery to remove a large hernia removed that's pushing against his right lung. He's on oxygen 24-7 due to Covid damaging his lungs. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

Loved your meal planning and recipe ideas. I always did this about a hundred years ago while raising our three kids. I did it to stay on budget and kept at it which helped us save without realizing it. I mean we had three no stop eaters, but staying within a meal plan and shopping accordingly helped us $ave.

I had to laugh when Kim was at the table writing her grocery list. Years ago, I was doing the same thing, writing the list from the recipe. I got to the store and one of the things on my list was ‘water’. 🤪
My husband lost his job in November, and having a small stock pile saved us. Especially during the holidays. Thankful we have both our parents close by, so they've been a huge blessing helping keep everything positive for our 2 kids.
My prayers are with you and your family. Thank goodness for having family nearby.
All will be well ~ sometimes difficult of course I have been homeless with my little ones so I understand how challenging life can get.
My kids are adults now and know together you can get thru it.

Fun fact: a cup of chopped red bell pepper has three times more vitamin c than an orange😃 I go to Aldi for a lot of my groceries because I don’t have a Costco near me - food prices are crazy at some places for sure 💕✝️🙋🏻♀️

I bake my mushrooms with some garlic butter and salt and pepper or I marinated them overnight in some red wine dressing and then grill them. Sooooo good! Love the video Kim!!!

It’s crazy how much prices have increased at Publix!! One our favorite treats is Heath bar cookies that we decorate with buttercream icing so I buy a small container of Publix buttercream icing. In early December it was $5.99. In late December it was $6.99. Last week it was $7.49! I was shocked!!!

The SAUSAGE, POTATO & PEPPERS Skillet would probably be pretty good on flour tortilla with a little cheese, a little salsa... and, BOOM... breaky burrito! Yes ma'am, JIF is definitely SUPERIOR when it comes to peanut butter.

OK, maybe it's me. My gran had 10 kids. She always just did potatoes a different vegetable and meat. Back then spaghetti wasn't even a thing (war era and beyond). I mean I realize it's partly for great videos but IRL if you have a lot of mouths to feed, meals don't have to be more difficult than that.
Dinner theme idea: How about Pioneer Woman, Paula Deen, Emerald LaGasse, etc recipes for a theme. Or any favorite chef! God bless

When I make stuffed peppers, I cut the Bell peppers in bite size pieces and make it into a casserole. I can add more bell pepper that way as well as different colored bell peppers! So good!! I use 1 packet of knorr Spanish rice, cook as recommended and add a 8 oz can of tomato sauce. Brown 3 Johnsonville sweet Italian sausages and crumble. Once sausage is cooked lightly cook bell pepper and add to the rice. Dump in a casserole dish and top with cheese. I use mozzarella and bake until cheese has browned. This is for a family of 4 so adjust however you need. Quick meal!
You can buy paper plate holders from Amazon they are dishwasher and microwave safe I like them because the plate doesn’t fold with food on it

Kim, I have a question about storing your 5 gallon containers of your rice, flour, sugar, and oats in the garage.. They won't sweat in those containers in the spring and summer heat in Florida? The reason I'm asking is the things I've stored in 5 gal buckets in my husband's shop ( not food) but has either ruined or became like concrete in this LA. heat.
Wellllll I Guess I’ll find out. Haha may have to buy smaller buckets and move them to my pantry inside

Our eggs are $7.00 for a 12 pack of store brand. I got chickens in April. They are so much fun. The each have different personalities. ❤️ They are the easiest animals to care for. I love my girls.

Chickens are easy and the best! And besides eggs, you can give them most of your kitchen scraps! Cutting back on your garbage waste. For example, when I clean and cut my strawberries I give my chickens the tops.
Baked potato bar is pretty fun. You can load 10lbs potatoes in a roasting pan and make a topping bar. Chili , sour cream, cheese, cooked broccoli or mixed veggies, taco meat, just anything! Salad or soup can round out your menu. Cheers!

I know this isn’t a cooking video but I just have to say after watching Kim for the last few years when I cook dinner and I don’t have certain ingredients or enough of this or that, or I think such and such would taste good added in…I can hear her in my head saying “it doesn’t matter! It will be fine!” She has made me so much more confident in the kitchen and as I try to teach my teenagers to cook as well!!

Get some foldable/ calapsible laundry baskets u can keep in ur car, to use when u get the flay back trolleys... that way u can pile stuff in and it won't fall off

I've lived in Florida my whole life and I keep a bag of flour I'm using in the refrigerator and extra 5lb bags in the freezer. Flour has a tendency to go rancid quickly in Florida. I hope your storage option works.

We just did our family dinner this past weekend and the theme was "Foods that start with the first letter of your first name." It was so fun to see what everyone could come up with.

Hey Kim, Important NOTICE. YOU HAVE TO WASH THE RICE FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mouses thent to feest on these cernals wile they are beeing stored on the farm silos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have to properly wash it and change the water on the boll that you wash it moltiple times. Here in greece we usualy wash it up untile the water comes out pure wigth , wich in rinses terms that means aboute 5 to 6 rinses. THANK ME LATTER (maybe on one of youre videos how knows *wink*).

next family theme, Greek food and if you need a bunch of recipes I will be more han glad to share :) - gyros, greek salad, pastitsio maybe (the greek version of lasagna but with macaroni) or musaka again greek version of lasagna but with eggplants, chiken lemon and potatos, spanakopita (spinach and feta pie), souvlaki (meat o a stick), saganaki (fried cheese), and my favorite 2 deserts, bougatsa (pastry with vanilla cream) and loukomades (small malls dougnuts toped with honey cinnamon and sesamy seeds)
At the end of the day your trying to be prepared for the week ahead. And your "Final Destination" scenario I love it and out of all 5 of the "Final Destination" movies that is the only death scene I remember...... I guess it's because I live in Georgia and we see log trucks everyday on our roads an I hate driving by them or behind them..... Lol!!!

Back some 47 odd years ago when my parents broke ground on this house, "they said" that if you wanted an excellent lawn and productive soil you needed to plant potatoes. Back then we had 1 potato (famous) in Belgium, called the "bintje" and you could fry it, and cook with it, it came out really nice. I think you guys' Whole Foods sells them and really big ones too. Back here you can no longer get them, what 40/50 years all changes right? So my dad had potatoes 3 years in a row before he got infested with beetles. Ugh. No more potatoes after that, but you should see all our plants and rose bushes out here right now? Supreme!

Guys I wanted to ask you I have 4 month baby boy and I'm nursing and I've been sick this winter almost every week somthing new. I do have kids in school I don't know if it's normal or my immune system is having hard time.. Please tell me what to do.. So far I have been on antibiotics for 3 weeks and now I feel my sinus is getting worse. Drowning here 😭😭😭 it's been a while since I felt normal 🥴
Those plastic things work really well for kids practicing math problems. Don't suggest them for learning how to write... because pencils and paper work best!
I’m a huge fan of wild flowers, so my favorite flower is kind of a tough one to peg down. Asters, lupine, and 10 petal blazing star would top the list. Oh and sweet rocket!!! Love that one!!!
Kimberly, I am watching this well after it was posted, but...I know you have an upright freezer in your garage and a small fridge outside in the outside kitchen. Do you have another refrigerator beside the one in your actual kitchen? Have you ever thought about purchasing half a cow butchered or even half a pig? We do that here in Pittsburgh PA. My sister and sister-in-law and i split a whole cow. I do have a medium sized chest freezer to keep my beef in. it lasts us almost a year!!

I've been keeping bulk foods in 5 gal buckets with the gamma lids for a while and just wanted to throw some advice at you. When I first pick up my flour and rice or any whole grains, I put them in the freezer for at least 3 days but usually a week, take them out and let them thaw for 24 hours, then put them in the buckets for storage. This reassures that anything in those bags that might hatch won't. Years ago I lost a whole bucket of flour due to weevils. It's sickening to think they are there, I know. 🤢

I’ve been using Macro Friendly food since last summer. You made one of the cake recipes and I was sold! It really has been a game changer. The best part is being able to easily plug the meals into MyfitnessPal

You can grow potatoes easily from the "eyes" that grow out of old potatoes. But don't waste your time, they take up lots of garden space to produce a decent crop and weeding is impossible. Just buy them, they aren't that expensive.

The egg prices are because there was a bird flu that hit a bunch of those farms. The egg meme I saw was "back in my day, we used to throw eggs and toilet paper at the houses of our enemies!" Something about them being cheap and plentiful. Clearly pre-pand.
