Just to protect yourself from creepers it might be a good idea to scatter some stray cats in the streets.. It goes with the theme i think and it protects you from creepers
The baby cows that were escaping, were coming out of the hole you made in the glass earlier in the episode to get into the water floor. You only replaced 1 of the 2 glass blocks, to stop the water from pouring out. I rewatched the clip and saw the cow climb up from that side.
Just made this myself, and it’s an amazing system! Thank you for being clear on how you made it, and yet not spending time on minor things. Very well done
Really like how far you have come with the building side of your game...the farms have always been great and now such a more like complete player with the advances in building you have made. Love the series.
Been watching MC videos for over 10 years. Good bedrock videos are very hard to come by. This is the 2nd video I've seen from you and I'm subscribing. I love the way you do your videos and the farms and builds are beautiful. Keep it up and thank you!
I have a suggestion for getting all cows in without much struggle. Not sure if anyone said it already though. All you need is 2 cows and put them in the farm. Then fill walls with glass except for 1 block. The lowest one so baby cows can come out. Create steps going to top of farm where cows go and just feed 2 cows to make 1 baby at a time. Wait for baby cow to come up and feed it hay until it grows. Then holding on hay push the cow inside. Cow will be distracted so won't run away. I did it. Little time consuming but less stressful than trying to leash a bunch of them and pushing crazy cows inside. Let me know if this is a good way and if someone already mentioned it or not. 👍
Just built a very modified version of this and I don't know why I hadn't thought of this ages ago. I had to use two glass panes and build the areas for the cows two blocks tall and put water in them otherwise the baby cows weren't dropping down. And I built the kill chamber a little different but same concept. Thanks for the great idea. It's pumping out the beef like crazy!
Works flawlessly. Very easy to feed the cows and collect plenty of leather. Definitely a plus when it comes to reducing lag caused by too many mobs bouncing around. I’ve tried a few others.. this one is worth building…
Hey buddy.. just a suggestion - maybe you can name the sheep dinnebone or what ever it is to turn them upside down... In the butcher shop it will look cool i think and sheerd ofcourse. it will look cool. Clever idea with the meat..i think quarts block or quarts ore would look cool... Like meat with bone through it
The way the cows are laid out here is very good for feeding them on mobile because they don't move. In a normal pen I often hit the cows accidentally because they move aside and the "feed" screen button disappears before I press it. 😠
@Epic Shadow Tamil ok, indeed I can avoid hitting cows by long pressing instead of using the "feed" button. The down side is I can feed only one cow at a time this way, I have to let the finger go and repeat it for each cow. It's still not as nice as right clicking on pc.
@@ryanguzman5558 Yes, that would be much better but it's not an option for me because I play laying on a bed or couch because sitting gives me pain in the back. When my back is OK again I'm going to switch back to playing on PC.
Prowl, is there a way to sort the babies from adults that grow up in the kill chamber? Thought behind this would be to make the farm flow like: breeding section, sorting section, trident killer. This would allow you to use the trident killer to get the Looting III effect. I tried something a little while back using the filter silent showcased in his village breeder, but it wasn't overly consistent with baby cows. Just a thought.
Maybe there is a way to sort them, but I couldn't find a way... I tried using water logged trap doors / water above trap doors so when the cows grew, they would hopefully float up (like villagers do) but it didn't work, they just drowned,.
@@Prowl8413, similar to what I tried. I got it to work a few times, but then chaos. Didn't run in to any drowning issues, but babies were also making it in to the kill chamber. Guess I will keep trying to see if I can work out a way to make it happen.
@@Prowl8413, maybe it could be done by adding cobwebs in a vertical shute. The Wiki states that it takes a mob 13 seconds to fall through a cobweb . It also states that it takes approximately 20 minutes for baby mobs created from breeding to grow to adults. If you made a shute that contained 93+ cobwebs (total Y height), they should all be grown by the time they reach the kill chamber in theory. That is an awful long time to wait, but right now with the trapdoor/water trick not working on animal mobs, it might be all that we have.
I did the same thing. I put a comparator in front of the hopper and send the mine cart upstairs if the hopper has items. At the end of the track the minecart dumps into another hopper that is connected to a chest.
Possible to use dispensers to feed cows, either automated or with a button push? Also, animals despawn in my game, even inside of fences. It was my understanding that they needed to be able to move around a minimum block area in order to not despawn. I feed and breed animals, but it still happens over time. I have not tested the theory about minimum area requirements.
100% worth it to make this a feature of your base... If you are a klutz like me... Put in some trapdoors... And only put in a max of 2 (cows or what have you) at a time 🤦♀️

On mcpe you can use a stone button with a single glass panel for them to stand on. Beneath it place rail with minecart hopper. Also easier to load cows in with minecart and powered rails, but you need to nudge minecarts apart so they aren't stacked on top of each other.
I like to free range my cows, and just kill them whenever I need leather; but I have some friends who will come in and poach them. I don't think they realise they are mine. Should I nametag them?

And they aren’t even big 😭
I should have waited to post this comment. The exact cow farm you explained, that causes lag, is the same one that I have. It isnt in a one block form, it is two blocks but they are bouncing up and down in water in the baby cows fall down into a kill chamber and when they grow into adults a dropper kills them with lava. But I have quite a few cows in there, I usually get about a stack of cooked beef every time I click the button and release the lava so maybe that’s where my leg is coming from.
