I feel like people have just been taking it for whatever they want it to be through the years - which I'm totally fine with, because I think that music should be interpreted how the listener wants to interpret it."

I used to listen to this song in my teen years. I'm now mid-20s, and I know that I'm younger than most of y'all OGs but this song still means a lot to me. I know there are Christian elements to this song but I also believe its a song of love. I want to share this with my potential partner... Do y'all agree or am I crazy?
Coming up celebrating 23 best years of my life. My husband sang this song to me, and he's been standing here ever since. Thanking GOD for good men and good music.
Male servitude and female exaltation would make a woman 'celebrate'. 23 years of female servitude is a loss for the man despite female speech regarding 'relationship reciprocity'.
This song is absolutely beautiful. Yes, it can be about the one we love (our partner). But Jason said it can also be interpreted about our love & need of God. 🙏💙
Married my high school sweetheart this year and this was our first dance song. Always thought of her when listening to this song and was absolutely perfect.
This bands music brought me through my preteen, teen, college and adult years. Whenever I've been in the darkest places, or needed music to help me sleep. Now I share this as lullaby music for my new born. If I ever meet these guys, I'll never be able to express what they've done for me in my life and ill never be able to repay them for the emotional healing and support I've received from their music.
Unreal I’m 21 when this came out. Now a dad of two teens, wife 17yrs and still feel like this was yesterday… Edit: Even with ups, downs our love still strong and growing. As you get older it’s definitely what I want and see it in hers eyes, feel it coming from my wife. Hope others lucky as me.
If you’re a teen (even if you’re not) in January 21 and listening to this, I love you you’re awesome. An era when stories was poured in music, not money in music videos.
I believe I was a sophomore in high school when it was released. Remember kids making fun of me liking it thought was gay. Well still 22 years later at 38 love this song as much as I did then.
It was everywhere in 2001 since it was released in late 2000. The funny thing is you got to hear it somewhere every week back then to the point you just knew the song without being a fan from it. Nowadays it doesn't get any airplay as far as I know. Found it by UA-cam recommendation and it takes me back to my childhood. Great tune.

Same with Switchfoot who were also super popular around this time. I believe they even toured together or something. Idk if they're a "Christian band" per-se; but they're awesome regardless.

Haven’t heard this song in a long time. It occurred to me that this could easily be a song to the self, Especially for anyone healing from pain whether psychological or physical. Sometimes the best way to get through hard times is to reconnect to the self.
The song "Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse is about the feeling of being in love, and the fear of losing that love. The lyrics describe the intense emotions that come along with being in love, the fear of losing that love, and the desire to hold onto it. The chorus of the song, "It's hard to hold on and it's hard to let go," encapsulates the struggle of wanting to hold on to love but also being afraid of getting hurt. Ultimately, the song is about the challenges and rewards of love, and the desire to hold onto it despite the fear of losing it.

I just shared it with mine. Go for it.
Another era, another life. Alive as if it were yesterday. Thank you music, you are the closest we will ever get to travelling in space and time.
Love you Lifehouse! Test bed for changing...starving for truth!
Love you Lord...
Test bed?
This song is absolutely beautiful. Yes, it can be about the one we love (our partner). But Jason said it can also be interpreted about our love & need of God. 🙏💙
What a load of shit 😂
Married my high school sweetheart this year and this was our first dance song. Always thought of her when listening to this song and was absolutely perfect.
Congratulations on your pact with God to be with another person for life.
Congratz my dude!
90's and 2000 eras is everything
Best music ever. Most meaningful.
Ain't that the truth!
It was the last of the human experiment. We are all cyborgs now
Smallville
This bands music brought me through my preteen, teen, college and adult years. Whenever I've been in the darkest places, or needed music to help me sleep. Now I share this as lullaby music for my new born. If I ever meet these guys, I'll never be able to express what they've done for me in my life and ill never be able to repay them for the emotional healing and support I've received from their music.
kkk
Love the message this is so true too
I an completely in love with this song! Miss the early '2000s so much that it hurts 😢
Unreal I’m 21 when this came out. Now a dad of two teens, wife 17yrs and still feel like this was yesterday…
Edit: Even with ups, downs our love still strong and growing. As you get older it’s definitely what I want and see it in hers eyes, feel it coming from my wife. Hope others lucky as me.
This song STILL comes on the radio in my city from time to time. On the rock station AND the pop station. This song was and is an absolute HIT.
I totally agree, this is one the americans does better than anyone else.
Timeless

Lifehouse was so underrated. I loved this entire album
This song peaked at #2 on Billboard hot 100 and became the most Band's successful single in 2001, every hour played in MTV, VH1

OMG when this song first came out, EVERYTIME I turned the radio on, it was playing. I STILL LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG. Thank you for the music. xxx
2000 freshman year man I just went back
If you’re a teen (even if you’re not) in January 21 and listening to this, I love you you’re awesome. An era when stories was poured in music, not money in music videos.
This song is GOLD. Good music like this comes around once in a lifetime and I assure you it will be just as amazing in +10 years!
This song is a all time classic, will never be forgotten
I have kids born 2011 and 2017.. they listen to alternative music such as this. I need them to grow up appreciating and having great taste in music.
This was one of my favorite songs when I was younger and I still love it 23 years after it was released.
23 years ago omg wow
I believe I was a sophomore in high school when it was released. Remember kids making fun of me liking it thought was gay. Well still 22 years later at 38 love this song as much as I did then.
This is one of the late '90's/early 2000's best all time songs.
Great tune.
Desperate for changing. Starving for truth. Closer where I started. Chasing after you.
Dude that’s so cool, you can listen to the song!
@@hadron4834 Yeah its as though he can actually listen to the song!
I'm not impressed
Wow... Talk about pissy people😬Its like a day care gotten woken up during nap time & immediately replied to this comment😂Shortstack has it bad enough guys! Give him a break! (Thats a Kit Kat each! But you could probably get away with fun size)
Lol jk fuckin around by the way.
@@BeeTeaDubs I'm not offended. That was hilarious!
born in 1996 this song has a special place in my heart. It reminds me of a simpler time where the vibes were just pure.
If I'm not mistaken these guys were actually a Christian band that actually broke thru and made it mainstream.. that just shows you how good these guys really were!! ARE!!
They're not a Christian band, some of the members are Christian though
@@lisa-mariegrant1894 yes they are a Christian band, they literally make worship music lol. This song is about God
@@kyleigh2927 singer Jason Wade has stated that Lifehouse is not a "Christian band" but that he is a Christian.
Same with Switchfoot who were also super popular around this time. I believe they even toured together or something.
Idk if they're a "Christian band" per-se; but they're awesome regardless.
@@kyleigh2927 They are not a Christian band. They have said this numerous times. Google is free.
15 years later...... still loving the vibes

I wonder if people know these guys are gospel rock??? Amazing band and the lyrics are so prophetic 🙏🏼 glad to see so many enjoying the word in song
This is my husband’s and my song! This is our anthem! It was popular when we were dating. Still happily married!
That is awesome!!!🖤 Unfortunately you don’t hear things like that much anymore . So it is good to hear that at least some people value each other in their lives . 🖤🖤🖤
Such a timeless tune. No matter how many years later, You hit them notes
This song just gives me such an amazing feeling inside like butterflies in my stomach I miss the old days so much
Same here
A great Christian song. Some people may not think it is, but it is.
can be said of all their music , love for god or another
Yes, it sure is! ❤
How is it Christian?
These guys are great. I love his voice. I would love to see them again I've seen them three times and I hope they tour soon
Hi Martha
This song I dedicated to me and my hubby when we got together 20yrs ago. I would hear this on the radio after spending my weekend of bliss with him and this song really spoke to me.
This is still hands down one of my favorite songs! Every now and then it still plays on the radio! Lifehouse was amazinggggg
Correction, "is amazing"
I was born waaay after this song was released but I’ve absolutely loved it for years, and I wish music like this would still be released now.
Man I miss the older hardcore great music.I am so glad old enough to experience it though. Music now is alright. You get the occasional good song. However, you don't get the FEELING like songs like this one had. I wonder what will happen in the next 20 years for music when I'm in my 40s
Oh my gosh, I don't even want to picture how bad they will butcher music in the next 20 years. smh. probably have no feeling at all.
+RedJoker9000 Red: I said the same thing about 90's music. My dad about 70's music, etc etc.... Remember this: music doesn't change, we do.....
+irene boam Well, now it's about how hot the person is or at times have music videos that go way over than they should. There are songs that I say suck, but people like because they are in love with the person.
LMFAO! You consider this crap "hardcore great music??" Jesus Christ. XD
+Johnny “Braveheart” Murdock I'l say it is better than the shit on now. You get a song once in a blue moon that is good. A lot more were better than. May I ask your age? If not that is fine.
Lifehouse and The calling...my 2000s... tough times and can’t be unseen
listening to this now in 2020 makes you really miss how great music was back then 😭💗
@Moe Snert you're behoned biased
Esta muy buena esa música que gran banda como había bandas tan buenas antes 👍🏻

One of most underrated songs ever everything is perfect lyrics music everything
Haven’t heard this song in a long time. It occurred to me that this could easily be a song to the self, Especially for anyone healing from pain whether psychological or physical. Sometimes the best way to get through hard times is to reconnect to the self.
dghdg
I believe it's actually about a relationship with God.
Still to this day one of the best songs in existence
I will never stop saying it. One of the best songs ever written.
I'll say this is true also put ill go wherever you will go by the calling

A beautiful love song. As a person who was as low as you could get on this earth, I can’t help but praise Jesus when I hear this song❤️
Every word of this song amazingly 100% fits a person to the Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏻
Ultimately, the song is about the challenges and rewards of love, and the desire to hold onto it despite the fear of losing it.
holy Sh!t This hits me hard in 2020. In 2001, I was 21 and in my 3rd year in college. Crazy how a flood of memories come in that you never thought about until a song brings it out.
Can't even explain the connection with this song. So powerful. I feel so much from this. He exudes so much true emotion...can't help but connect with it i think no matter who you are. We ALL FEEL THIS !!!

One of the many reasons why I fell in love with Rock music as a kid.
Me and my beautiful wife's song...10 yrs on groundhogs day...and this song couldn't be any more true than it is right now, even after a decade ..good times and bad,I'm more in love with her than ever.....she's ages like a fine wine and shes made me a better person...I love you baby
I love this song so much makes me wanna cry almost every time. This was the song my now husband 10 years ago said he would wait for me to. I tear every time I here it. Good times. Love you babe
ya I know LOL but the best part about christian rock is you can use it for terms of drugs and relationships. It's done in that way so you can feel like your connecting in any situation
ahh Great story.
:) I dedicated this song to my boyfriend , I do not know if in 10 years i would be calling him husband haha I wish.

Back when life isn't complicated as today.
I think life was more complicated then! But it was amazing at the same time! Today everyone just does whatever everyone else does.
I think life has always been complicated. You only notice it as you grow old though.
