My Dad passed away when I was 13. Shortly after I got really sick and was in the hospital. My Mom and I sang this song together. The song remained our song over the years, and is such a bright spot. I took my Mom off of life support on November 1st, 2021. I thought about listening to this song for so many weeks, and finally got the courage to do so this evening... such good memories.

That is bitter sweet....but so much more amazing than tragic. It captures bonding, beautiful moments with her. I lost my Dad, but losing my Ma eventually is literally the only thing I truly fear and dread. But everyone has to face that pain eventually I suppose. :(

My husband chose this song for our wedding. We were together 10 years, had 2 babies and a 9 month separation in the 10 years before we got married. I never understood at the time why he wanted this song so bad. He passed away on March 27th 2023 very unexpectedly. Massive heart attack at 40 leaving behind me, 19 and 18 year old high school seniors, an 8 year old and a 6 year old. We married in 2013 but we'd been together over 20 years. As I was going through photos for his slide show, I noticed how he looked at me in nearly every picture. He'd smile and look towards the camera when he knew his photo was being taken. If he didn't realize it, he was looking at me like I was the only girl in the world. We loved each other so much. Knowing how much that man loved me is what gets me through for our kids. When you meet the person out there that loves you that much, don't ever take it for granted ❤

This is a song that would be a hit in whatever decade it came out. If this song was came out in the 50's, 60's, 70's, so on and so forth. It would be just as magical of a song. It's just a straight up classic.
I was born in 2000. I’ve noticed as I get older that a lot of memories from growing up kind of fade away. But every time I hear any song from the early 00’s I’m automatically transported back to car rides with my family. Just sitting in the back seat and quietly singing along.

This is my moms and stepdads song when they got married, he was the dad I never had and he treated me like blood even though we were not related at all. He passed away 12 days ago to a random heart attack at age 46 and he was gone just like that. We played this song at the funeral and man I have never cried like I did then. I’m going to miss him so much. RIP Rusty. I’ll always remember you.

I ended up here because Lifehouse was featured quite a lot in Smallville and I just started rewatching it. It's a special show for me, it began when I started highschool and ended when I graduated university. It reminds me of all the good times and good friends I made and lost along the way. It reminds me of a long lost time I wish I could go back to and just stay there. If I ever had the opportunity to go back and tell my younger self who lived through this one thing, it would be to cherish that time because it'll be gone one day and you'll look back and miss it. I think that's a lesson everyone learns through their life at one point or another.

When I was little I used to dream about dancing to this song on my wedding day. I had mentioned that to my husband just once when we were dating. Then when we were planning our wedding he was in charge of music, and kept telling me our first dance was going to be a different song. Then on the actual day we were standing on the dance floor and this song came on. I cried like crazy. Sneaky husband.
