@@TVGPOV Everything I'd hoped for! It's incredibly fun to drive and faster than I expected stock. It really is an excellent daily driver. No rush though, It's been nice getting a feel for it before starting to modify anything. I haven't driven an MK8, but I'm very happy with the 7.5 and don't think I'd like having everything on a digital display. The DSG is very good and practical. If this wasn't my daily car I'd 100% get a manual though!
And that’s exactly why I bought my MK7.5 GTI with a MANUAL transmission. I’ve owned it for 5 years, and there isn’t a single time that I’ve taken it out for a drive, errand, commute, etc. that it hasn’t felt fun to drive. As great as the DSG transmission is, I felt it would take away a lot of the “engaging driving experience” element I wanted from my GTI.

I'm on the market for a 7.5 GTI, is the TCR worth the extra money or should I use the money saved for upgrades? If a Performance already can make 330 is the extra 60 a TCR can make with a remap worth it? I know the TCR is 20% more stiff (not needed for me) but it the steering rack the same? This is my car and I would rather to buy a tcr because it could be more fun than mines. And of the top of that the tcr are faster 100-200 than a r. TCR has a R turbo and you can push a TCR more to 400HP

You're not in "manual mode" until you manually shift it. Just shoving the shifter over into the manual gate isn't enough. I think it just defaults into a sport shift mode, but don't hold me to that one. But tap the paddles once, and it won't upshift again until you tell it to.
