Never boring or nerdy, great to see the new developments and the old before they disappear forever. Thanks GTM, really appreciate the mix of content in your videos 👍
Thailand has so many stupendous contrasts: the new station and those old trains; a dutch giant on a bike build for gnomes...Amazing Thailand and P.S. your videos never are boring!
You can find a tiny steam locomotive restored and painted nicely to display behind those abandoned diesel locomotives. I believe its still there. It could be seen from trains on the old track passing through the north of the old Bang Sue junction.
When I am in Thailand I often travel by (sleep) train. In one of those journeys my eye already fell on these "abandoned" train locomotives. Almost all trains that come and depart from Hua Lapong Station must pass by Bang Sue trainstation. At that moment I wondered why they were there and what the plans are going to do with it. So Jeroen, With your video you have now informed me. Coming from Hua Lampong by train to Bang Sue you have a community on the leftside that lives in a slum. Always wondered what the street side looks like. So seen from the train side. Maybe next year I'll take a look at this community. January and February are the months that i will escape the cold Weather of The Netherlands. Without a pandomy, I would now walked where you walked right now. Blijf vooral dooooorgaan!( Ha, ha) met het maken van deze video's. would say, keep making these videos. Greetings, Anthony
Cool stuff...should of jumped inside...and those ol yellow ones probably mid 1900s...single headlamps were used all the way through 1960 or so then they went to double...probably the old southern line....did u know Thailand’s first train was a gift from Queen Victoria?...now that’s a sugar mama...
Thanks for the interesting video. I wondered why the train station is so long? I imagine it is to cover all the wagons and that people do not get wet when boarding or getting off?🙄
@@globaltravelmate Sorry, rare was not correct, only one from this was constructed, the lady is a cause for museum, Sinsheim for example are the best.😉 Liebe Grüße aus Sachsen.
Actually, the Thai railway-engineers can refurbish/restore these old trains, but there are lack of bugets for them. That was why those trains left where you saw them, never been destroyed yet..? There is a historical week-end trip (using the real old stream locomotive) runs once a year from Hua Lamphong to Ayuthaya. It's a part of the "Remembrance" to King Chulalongkorn who brought train/tram (and electricity, tapwater, postal etc.) from Europe to Siam. Tickets are available only on advance booking.
I like your Video and I like your Research, next time I go make the same trips, and can use your Videos as my Guide. (i also make little research by myself) , but your Info is great for Everybody! 🙏👍

Interesting video. I like big old machines. How is it to ride with the small, foldable bike? Is it good useable in Bangkoks bumpy streets?

admin sawadee ka 🙏😊🙏 Bang Sue Station in November, full use of the model, as you know, at the end of this year
I'm interested in buying a folding bike in bkk - What model did you buy? Review please
I saw on you "Typical Day" about where you bought the bike
But I'm still interested in a review / comparison of your two bikes
