  • I scored a Zojirushi Indoor Electric Grill for $25 at a thrift store. But does it really replicate a grilling experience in the kitchen?

Zojirushi products are very high quality. That is a nice find for $25.

The reviews on this indoor grill are rather good on Amazon. I found one on eBay for $23.99 that was like new so I bought it right away. Thank you for the video. very well produced, clear and to the point. Thank you!

Glad to hear. I think you got a great deal, and I've been very happy with its performance. Just make sure there is plenty of ventilation, or ultimately use it outside. Enjoy!

I own one but don’t like the way it grills steaks. The streaks don’t seem to caramelize with the heating element built into the grill.

I had a TFal one years ago and it worked well with less oily meats and definitely don't over crowd it because if oil hits a coil it will cause a flame, a big flame.

There was an indoor "grill" I saw that had the addition of some kind of rock beneath to mimic grease dripping on hot coals, giving a smoky flavor. Didn't try it myself, but the premise seemed sound.

Interesting. I'd think that would create even more smoke, though, lol.

I grew up with one in the 70s and 80s. It had a stainless steel grate and heated with an element that glowed red. My mother always cooked bulgoki on it. It along with the International rice cooker were one of the few things that wasn't crap nor associated with murdered food.

Nice storage in the garage! What did you say at 8:32, go awry?

Thanks for the suggestion! That is indeed a vital thing some people don’t have. (Mine resides under the sink.)
