- A fun easy DIY way for anyone to make an electric 1 string canjo (tin can Diddley bow) for under 10 bucks that can be played as a lap slide instrument or as a slide guitar. All the parts are very inexpensive and readily available online.
Just some basic tools and parts are needed. Hand saw, hot glue gun, soldering iron, drill, pencil, box cutter, measuring tape, drill bits (6mm for tuner). For parts: a bolt for the nut, piezo buzzer (pickup), guitar input jack, tin can or cookie tin, extra wire (op), 2 screws guitar tuner and string. If you enjoy this you will be well on your way to having the skills to build a cigar box guitar, dulcimer or ukulele! Have Fun! (excellent Covid project)

You're welcome! Yup I love the longhorn 👍
Sounds great - but then everything does in your hands 🙏
What a nice thing to hear ☺️ thank you 👍
good stuff. thank you
You're welcome 🤠
fantastic! congratulations, where did you find the measurements for the frets of the neck?
Online or you can put it besides a friends guitar and mark them
@@busker909 ah okay so the neck has the same measures as that of the guitar ... thank you very much !!
how long should the piece of wood be? or does it matter
It depends on the scale a bit but 34' should be more than enough.
What do you use for the fret wires?
They're just marks. It's meant for slide.👍
I don‘t understand where is position from the bridge. or is the bottom of the box the position of the bridge? in your case 24'' (Bridge = bottom of the Box)
Thanks for asking. Yes the bottom of the can is the bridge and should be 24 inches from the nut if you're using a 24 inch scale. I hope that helps. More questions are welcome 🙂
