I didn't even know those biscuit boxes could be used for anything other than sewing needles
SHIIIIIT. When you at your grandmama house and you see one of those! "mmmmmm cookies!" Then you open it and it's just sewing equipment. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!"
@@xvelliseraptor At least you realized it before you put one in your mouth....
Truth Hurts Thankgod, bro
@@louis3141 sounds like you're speaking from experience.
Or spare buttons.

Wow the boys locker room memes have really evolved
It's called a banjo
@@grantflippin7808 yeah we know, the thing is its made of a tin can, so the names canjo for this type of banjo.
Excellent video (including the background music). I think the best part of the build was the fact that this wasn't made in a fully equipped-no-expense-spared professional work shop. Very nice use of basic hand tools and low budget power tools! This makes even a guy like me feel that I could do the same. Bravo!
My friend: “So what kind of guitar do you play?”
Me: “Biscuit tin.”
I was not expecting it to sound that good. Awesome project man!
+July With Fitz me too, but it was a nice surprize! Of Course I played it through a fender blues junior which is an awesome amp!
The wooden volume knob was a beautiful touch
This is beyond my skill level but I enjoyed watching you work.
thank you very much

Awesome! If I would've had my eyes closed when you played, I'd swear it was an electric banjo, factory made, and probably expensive! Nice work!
thank you
you are the kind of person that UA-cam needs. thank you
I thank you
i love how much you appreciate and respect your materials even if it´s "scraps". way to go!!
+Laura Kampf thank you very much, I appreciate it!
+Scrap wood City This is such an amazing creation! I think I'll try making my own soon! How long did the whole process take you roughly if you don't mind me asking? :)
+StickSkits thanks, just a few days
"Darling, I'm going to learn how to play banjo!" *continues by building a banjo*
Next week: "Darling, I'm going to learn how to steer a ship!"
"Oh no...."
lol

Lol

"why are there pickups in my sewing kit?"
I like banjo music but couldn't guess a canjo can give such a good sound. Good job, sir.
An actual freaking banjo!
I saw and talked to Scott Ainslie last Friday, and have become obsessed with 'cigar box.'
I've seen a bass made from a stainless washer drum, Scott's is a cigar box and a recycled pool cue, a 'National Steel' from a cookie tin, and a wonderful thing made from stainless cookware but you've actually made a freaking banjo.
lol, thank you
Formule pour la position des frettes :
L = longueur entre le chevalet et le sillet
n = n° de la frette en partant du sillet
x = longueur entre le chevalet et la frette
x = L × 2^n/12
Oh dear! Math and French in the same formula? Its a high school nightmare!! Or is that nuit jument? I don't know. Help!!!
I would love to see a resonator guitar made in a similar build. Beautiful work.
That's awesome, I really love the sound too :) you should have played your own background music, I would quite happily listened to more of your playing :)
+Swallow Forge thank you. I play the background music! ;)
@@ScrapwoodCity glad you actually play the backround music instead of just stealing it from someone else, but do you *really* sit there for thirteen minutes playing the same tune or does it loop so well I just don't know?
I never knew those biscuit tins were good for something other than grandmas old candies that no one has ever seen or heard about anywhere else
I made this cameo and now I’m opening for Jack White next Thursday. Thank you for posting this video. It has truly changed my life.
Wow! It sounds awesome.
+Shake the Future thank you very much
I love the ultra fast motion with the saws and other tools. I love the fact that you left there audio in.
+Patrick Burns thanks
the background song is literally stuck in my head now
lol
You make your own guitar and try to jam but that's the only song you can ever play 😂
Makin your own lathe and then turning your control knob...Love that determination creativity. Skill and Art.
And you said you played the sound track too.Nice.
That chrome steel can looks awesome.
Thank you my friend
Always love hearing the instrument after seeing it put together. Love all the little details and craftsmanship. Also was happy to see your chisels are only in marginally better condition than mine. Thanks for posting and sharing.
+Matthew Friedrichs thank you very much
377 people thumbs down on this?
All I can say is- let’s see theirs.
My only suggestion would be to get a radius sanding block for the fretboard. Well done. You should be proud
Very nice video, thanks for showing all the details. Other videos skip over what they think are simple steps but for us beginners are quite important.
thank you, glad you found it useful
You are a craftsman, sir. Very nicely done!
pretty cool how it retains a certain banjo tonality even through an electric pickup! I guess it's because of the way the note decays, and the resonance imparted to the string. Neat!
indeed
As a proud owner of an oil can guitar, I've to say that you shouldn't remove that sweet - a grandma reminder - texture of the box! Nice video mate. Congrats.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Loved the sound of it!
thats really cool how you can turn a biscuit tin and wood into a great instrument. props to you man.
+Roman “Zumbah” Bellic thank you very much
Oh Wow,, that is talent in so many ways. And ambition is a talent in its own right.
I live in Minnesota, I'll have to wait till spring to take my hat off to you...
Keep up the good work. .. ;-)
You are definitely a creative and professional instrument builder. Inspiring to watch. Also a very well made video. What more can you ask for? MuchThanks for your work.
Thank you very much for the nice words

This Guy is AMAZING! What a talented Craftsman!
Great build video, lots of great ideas you've used. I especially liked the neck construction.
thank you
Nice job! I love my cigar box guitar. Now I am inspired to make something like this!
+Mark Hanson thank you, glad you liked it

thank you
Nice hand work. Its inspiring to see the drive in youth to make things.

The heartache to realize that not only are there no cookies, but not even a sewing kit must've been insurmountable
Wow, thanks for the blind rivet tip! Never thought of that :)
Parabéns!!
Cara o timbres ficou top, você é um artista meu mano.
Awesome work, idea, and sound! I swear I'm smiling for 5 minutes for the triumph of your project :) Thanks for sharing!
lol, thank you very much
Great! I was looking for a way to build a banjo, and I think I've learned more from your video than from anything else :)
Excellent tutorial, really thank you!
Thank you very much, glad you found it useful!
Good stuff! I love homemade instruments like this and you do such a great job with them. Love how you make your own wooden knobs too. I might have to steal that idea.
+Makify1 thank you very much!
Love the high speed hand tools.. nice touch! It actually sounds like a pretty passable 4 string banjo.😁 Cool project.. you and Justin Johnson would get along fine.😉
great video but the music is getting a bit old
Haha. I was like "where have I heard this song before?"
won't you take me to.... FUNKAY TOWNN
Me too! Leave it as it, it's addictive!
exactly
This music is in hill climb game 🙌😂
you could save time using steel scraper and achieve a much more vibrant lasting finish and better overall resonation as the neck is where the wave forms and flows out the bottom no negative thoughts just a little I learned and thought I would pass it on to another and thanks for video I learned from it
Thanks for the info, I'll have it in mind!
That was a badass way to do inlays.
+SpectacularName lol
Awesome!
+Make it Extreme σ'ευχαριστώ πολύ αδερφέ!
This was pleasure to watch! Awesome job man
This inspires me to build tiny string instruments in the near future...if only i had the right tools!
Great job building that electric banjo. 👍👍
Thank you
as everythink you make, just another awesome project again
Great build rewarded with fantastic sound. Thank you.
thank you
It's really nice to see someone making such a fine instrument with such basic tools !! 😲😁👍 I mean most UA-cam videos out there the people making things usually seem to have the very best of tools which costs an arm and a leg and you end up drooling over the equipment used, but then never ever copying the thing that the UA-camr is making because you know that you could never afford the tools in the first place 😲😲 but after watching this video I'm going to set up my own little guitar shop right now 😁😁😁👍
Thank you for the great video and the motivation, I have just clicked the like button and subscribed too 👍
Glen 😁👍
Nicely done. Thanks for the lesson. Gee it really sounds good and twangy like a banjo ukulele. Good work.
I made one thanks to you, well done by the way, the biscuit tin was years old nevertheless cost me nothing, scrap wood lying around the shed all i bought was machine heads strings and bits and the pickup was the most expensive item came to £49.50, wait for it sold it for £159 brilliant project took me two days to construct, good way of making money, the next one i make will have a dimarzio pickup, also i will spend more time on precision and detail i will then hope to get around £650 to £700 well thats what im hoping for.......
Wow I love it ! Your videos are getting better and better (and more complicated). Keep it up!
+Roy Saad thank you very much
Joy to look at you at work
nice to hear that
Brilliant. Would love to try to make that. Always wanted a workshop. Just waiting for the lotto.
This video was a great help when I made my first guitar from a biscuit tin (my profile pic).
I've built some more now, and started my own channel.
Thank you!

This looks like a fun project to try. I'll take one for the team and eat the cookies to get the tin....small sacrifice to pay 🤣
Very nice work! I also keep leftover wood. You just never know when you're going to need it!
Another fabulous instrument love it
