I just got electricity back this evening and have been staying in the back of my Prius with my dogs for the same reason. I'm beyond thankful my car has been easy on gas. This has been so mentally and emotionally draining.
Dogs have been outside for 100’s of year. Give them shade and water, and they’ll be fine. Go get a generator, solar, this isn’t centerpoijts fault. It’s a giant storm, Houston is a huge metropolis, it doesn’t happen over night. This generation is so weak. Yeh, it sucks, but it’s not the end of the world.
I'm so saddened to hear hers and so many others are STILL without power?!!! I live in South Texas, I've been without for weeks & know how horrible & unbearable it is... Prayers it comes back on soon!!! Houston Really needs to step up & come up with a Master plan to Ensure this doesn't happen again!!!! it's unacceptable! 🙏♥
Sorry for all those suffering in the heat without power. You are blessed that you have a car, that you can put gas in and have the air conditioner run. Many elderly don't even have that. Hopefully , this power is restored. Maybe save and invest in a solar generator, if this area is frequently prone to such outages.
Even as weather conditions worsen, people still deny it. Weather wise the future for Texas looks bad and on top of that, people keep moving there making thing even worst. More people more problems.
@@Soulsoother333 Thanks for your kind words. I still don’t have power.Maybe, we are getting our electricity back on Friday in Kingwood according to Center Point.
Everyone in Tx and other areas prone to outages needs to get a good generator for power outages. Centerpoint should provide their customers with generators until they get their act together. I live in a rural area and seldom have outages, certainly in part because they are constantly trimming back trees from power lines. I went 2 weeks without power after a Cat 3 hurricane and the neighborhood pulled out grills and cooked everything in their freezers and fed the entire neighborhood for days.
I encourage everyone that has the means to take emergency preparedness seriously. After not having power in the winter I forced myself to acquire certain things. I had to make some sacrifices. But it’s a one and done situation. After that, you have insurance for your household. If you can afford it, just do it.
I hope she gets her power on quick. I noticed that the neighborhood still have the old transformers, they need to get the new ones and maybe that will help.
That’s terrible. I can’t imagine trying to live in all the heat with no relief from the heat. These utility companies are nothing but monopolies that bleed people dry trying to pay them. I bet none of the upper managers are living without electricity. It’s almost like this country is becoming a third world country.

I know the pain of not being able to sleep at night because you are so hot. Every summer this happens to a lot of us and seems like it’s getting worse and worse every year.
So how will houstonians be compensated for this. I lost a month worth of groceries. I can’t shower I can’t cook I can’t SEE I can’t sleep. I need some money for this mess.
How were you not able to shower? There was running water and it was coming out warm but cold water was welcoming if it came. I think it’s risk when we lose groceries…I’m just buying less freezer food and more can goods during hurricane season.
My neighbor's broke down yesterday and yelled until they cried. Their car ran out of gas, no generator, many kids. And can't do anything to help as a neighbor.
