I'm American. Came here after learning how our talent show "World's Best" cut "Daididau" from one of his performances. He had worn this same traditional garment to sing Daididau mixed with Celine Dion's "All By Myself" (genius), but they cut off the Kazakh song "for time." Dimash, you are a world-class phenomenal talent, and I want to apologize on behalf of us Americans for our ignorance and ungratefulness. I noticed you had your parents in the audience wear their Kazakh clothing as well, and it upsets me that we didn't get to experience that moment fully! We're not all like that though. I, for one, want my countrymen to start acknowledging other cultures properly and be open to learning from and taking an interest in them.
Dimash's mother said in an interview that Dimash has 10,000,000 fans world wide. I would like to assure her that Dimash has many more Dears than than that. I suspect the number of Dimash's Dears is growing at an exponential rate every day and we have not seen anything yet. I also suspect we are about to witness a movement and phenomenon much larger and more necessary than anything we experienced with Michael Jackson or the Beatles. Maybe even bigger than politics itself. The grace, dignity and humility with which Dimash, his Family and his Country carry themselves is going to be a bright healing beacon of hope shined on the west.

Just one noting. At the beginning Dimash played on dombyra the kui (piece of specific Kazak music) of ADAI written by great (the greatest!!!) Kazak composer Kurmanghazy Saghyrbayev (19th century). And after that Dimash sang the song DAIDIDAU. The kui and the song are totally different and have no any links to each other. So please make difference !! Dimash just wanted to show the richness of Kazak music tradition and song tradition.

He can definitely sing happy songs but I feel his voice conveys emotions fitted to these kinds of songs. It’s actually: “what am I to do if your promise was a lie” and not “To whom shall I divulge my sorrow? “ Magzhan has been lied to by the Russian soldiers that his wife left him. Upon his release from the prison several years later he found that his wife was still waiting for him. They reunited however it was not meant to be. He still wrote about Kazakhstan gaining independence and two years later he was arrested again, called an “enemy of the nation” and executed.

Magzhan has been lied to by the Russian soldiers that his wife left him. Upon his release from the prison several years later he found that his wife was still waiting for him.
They reunited however it was not meant to be. He still wrote about Kazakhstan gaining independence and two years later he was arrested again, called an “enemy of the nation” and executed.
