The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.
This was also the first time Igor Krutoy heard Dimash (at the end you see him in the white shirt giving a standing ovation) and what started their relationship.
Do you know if there are any videos explaining Joqtaw singing? I’m looking, but I can’t find any in English or with subtitles. I’d really like to learn more about it!

Но техника пения в данной песне похоже на традиционное горловое пение, что корнями уходит к шаманизму, зороостризму, который исповедовался казахами до ислама. Возможно когда-то в Жоқтау подобное пение и использовалось, но в современности поются рифмуещеяся строки иногда с плачем. Жоқтау- это способ выплеснуть эмоции и не впасть в депрессию из-за подавления чувств.

I am in South Africa and just discovered Dimash and I am totally intoxicated.
Very shortly after I stumbled upon Dimash I found you reacting/analyzing to Dimash SOS. This happened very shortly after I lost my husband to cancer. You, and others, played a part in getting my through those first months, filling the living room with voices. In the process of listening to you I learned more than I ever expected to know about the human voice and you have indeed added value to my experience. I would like to recommend two Dimash songs - The Story of One Sky and El Amor En Ti. The former is a long , complex video but the live version of the music from his Almaty Stranger concert on his channel may be easier to analyze since the video is of a very heavy subject. El Amor En Ti is simply a blockbuster, gorgeous to listen to and experience. I would love it if you would cover these quite different Dimash offerings. Thanks, Peter!

There is also a wonderful Fan Cam video of a different performance of Sinful Passion where the camera never leaves him and the sound quality is astounding! "Ti Amo Cosi" with Dimash, Aida and Lara Fabian is gorgeous. (You did a reaction to just Dimash and Aida.) And "Ave Maria." Also, El Amor En Ti from Dimash's latest "Stranger" tour (9/22). You'll soooo enjoy it! (Sorry, I've become one of those dears. lol.) Love.

Unforgettable Day - Gakku concert he hits whistle tone range with control. Across Endless Dimensions is another great listen. Stranger has everything, including an incredible sustained belt.
I think two of the most amazing ones you "need to see," are "The Story of One Sky," (because it contains an even more impressive "Middle East" riff that shocks nearly everyone who hears it the first time), and one of his most recent, "El Amor En Ti," in which you will be able to compare Dimash's bass opera singing to your own!

He did hit the D8 in Unforgettable Day at Gakku but said later in an interview that it wasn't supposed to happen, that for some reason he didn't produce the note he was going for (I believe it was normally a G7 but I could be wrong) so readjusted and sang through C8/D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato.

Wow Peter - how did you miss this one?! Igor Krutoy spotted front and centre of the audience leading the applause…. This performance is the one that hooked me on Dimash even more than SOS did. The cello part blends so beautifully with Dimash’s vocals - floating on a cushion of immense joy. You may truly enjoy some of Dimash’s newer performances such as El Amor En Ti and Story of One Sky. Both are incredible!
He does a marvelous whistle note in his Drunken Concubine duet with Li Yugang, in which they spliced the Diva Dance. It is worthy of a listen to enjoy the differing vocal techniques and styles of the two artists.
Dimash's deep and gentle voice... I melt away. What a wonderful song, wonderfully sung by Dimash. Did you hold your breath? 🤣 The final run was 23 seconds with one breath. 👏👏👏
Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship.
... and of course Dimash donates the many flowers to hospitals and retirement homes.

You can really hear how much he's developed his lower range since this performance when you listen to some of his more recent work, but this is still one of my favorite performances of his. It's just so beautiful and emotional.

If you want to hear his whistle register, I’m sure a lot of people have requested Unforgettable Day, where he hits the famous D8, and yeah you should probably check it out (I look forward to your take on it). I really like his whistle notes in his duet with Li Yugang, singing Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance better, even tho they’re “only” in the high 6th or 7th octave. It feels more appropriate to Diva Dance, which is theoretically impossible for the human voice. Either, both, or neither-another song would be fine by me as well.
Remember, Dimash has been classically trained and that training started at 5 years old.

The technique you were having trouble remembering is I believe called "Caprino" - The Fairy Voice Mother - mentioned it in her review of Sinful Passion. Suggestive of the bleating of a goat.

Rest assured, you are hitting the mark as regards your helping those "unwashed" masses of we who don't sing! - to help us greater appreciate the complexities and wonders of what Dimash is doing and which you yourself, I am sure, do as well - though maybe not quite up as high in the sky vocally as does he! Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏
To see yet another side of Dimash as an artist, you may enjoy watching his music videos, especially the very elaborate last ones: Be With Me and The Story Of One Sky. In the latter, he uses a singing style I have never heard him use before, while Be With Me is just great fun to watch and see him use different registers of his voice to portray the different sides of the character that he plays. Hope you get to analyze Dimash more frequently because your analyses are great.
P.S.: Just saw you performing "Der Wanderer", and as a German, I have to say your pronounciation was flawless. I could understand every word while closing my eyes and not seeing the English subtitles. Bravo! Not even all German bass singers have such a clear pronounciation.

Well you need to check out Tommy Johansson before u make that bold statement.he can sing high or low and plays all the instruments. So he's got more talent then dimash all around cuz he don't play anything just sings. So please do raise me up and u'll see what I mean
@@esanchez1305 Yeah he's sounds very good as a cliché-like 80's iconic singer to be and with a better pitch.He aren't better than Dimash with its comes to pure vocal techniques/musical techniques, from soprano,tenoralto/contraito,high-pitch notes/whistles (what's best known to do;in tremendous scales/levels,like the super rare note of D8) to baritone,cracks, low-pitch/hissing singing(super low ones,almost banking on the gate of hell), rifts,runs(super enduring ones,like if he's got a human trunk..),throat singing,etc.etc....With then they might be equally as instrumentally talented or that Tommy is only slightly ahead with his electric guitar,only(as far I have seen him playing various instruments)...
So,again, to finish it off, Dimash is for sure a VOCAL beast/god and if not THE best in that regard(only)regardless one being a amateur, semi-professional, professional or top professional vocal singer,BUT he aren't everyone's sound of voice or preferred pitch and that's where UA-cam- or social media super singers/semi-professional super singers,like Angelina Jordan, Diana Adunikova and Gabriel Henrique(etc.) is much more preferred amongst many .There's a difference here.Good that have been settled down,I suppose... 🤷♂🤷♂😅🙃✌👌💎🌈

The Story of One Sky and El Amor en Ti are his two most recent pieces--both composed by him and both excellent. In El Amor en Ti he treats us to his low, middle and top ranges, as well as different singing styles, operatic-->pop, all in extended solo segments. I like his lower range in this piece the best, actually. It has continued to mature in the last few years and has developed a lovely tone with a lot of power. With your interest in opera, I think this one is a must listen for you.
I'm partial to the MV for The Story of One Sky--it is a mini movie, really, and his voice almost takes a back seat to the visuals and his acting--but they join, in equal importance, to deliver a single searing message. He wrote the story line for TSOOS, composed the music, sings and acts in it.
He premiered both pieces back-to-back in his recent Almaty concert, and you could view his performance of TSOOS there too (which of course, Dimash style, is sung somewhat differently from his music video), but the music video adds so much more to the meaning of the song I would advise you to listen to it first. His performance of it on stage is electric though, and he puts everything he has into it.

And as for Dimash's performance, well, what can I say? It's been almost 4 years now since I first stumbled across a performance of his on a random reaction channel and became a Dear that same day, waving bye-bye to a diet of solely English language pop/rock and r&b and having my whole musical world turned upside down!
And to this day he still continues to amaze, surprise and impress me with every new performance, every concert, every music video and interview and guest appearance, and with every humanitarian act I discover from behind the scenes - not to mention how he also seems to get better and better looking with every day that passes, lol! (what, shallow, me?! Well, maybe just a little...😉)
None of which I would have experienced (oh, what a thought!😳😭😭) without a video like your own, so please know how very much you're appreciated - it'd be no exaggeration to say that with every upload, you really could be changing someone's life forever! Dimash's whistle register starts from E7. He has hitted ,D#7, E7,F#7,G7,G#7, C#8 to D8 all these notes during live performances. Crazy right? ❤😂 Also while practicing in the studio he has a hitted F8 & G#8
Really a G#8, if it's true then it's a world record because the highest voice of a male is an E8 and he is the world record holder.
@@aayushgupta1265 yes bro...If he can hit a d8 during live just casually then it's obvious that he can hit at least 3-4 notes higher if he tries his best.
@@nellie6761 yup but it will be a little difficult because you can hit that note with only inhale whistle which is very tough, it can damage your vocal cords so yeah if he can do that than he is not a human or male per say because females can do it as G#10 is the highest note ever sung by Georgia brown but men can't do it. DIMASH is otherworldly

I am loving seeing more dimash love all over he is the best singer in the world imo..... The way he just released a song entirely in English too!! He can literally hit all notes gracefully. Even the breath notes are entirely intentional, it doesn't mean he can't get to the deep notes. He uses %100 emotion, he's acting with his voice. He's the only artist that I will wait 10 hrs in a chat for a premiere. Lol.

One thing I find so fascinating is that people with no vocal training or familiarity with the terms can still instinctively feel a rare and extraordinary vocal performance at the inner core, almost as if we as humans were built to resonate with angelic tones. Not a particularly religious person here, but I think there is certainly something that connects all of us so strongly to the beauty of the human voice in its best forms.
