In Barcelona (and throughout Catalonia) there is a coastal law that prohibits building less than X metres from the coast. The W hotel was built directly on the sea! I was at Barcelona last year and literally walked the whole city. Very beautiful, safe, and everyone there looks good. I was also surprised the food prices were alot less than America.
Oh my..... 2 grand for this room? The view is stunning but a dirty carpet, worn furniture and a not working hut tub woould be a reason for me to complain and ask for another clean room. The prices for food and drinks don't shock me as one would expect that from a 5-star hotel at even higher costs. And I would get the creeps in the red hallways. Anyway, I love your videos, keep them coming 🙂
Thank you for the video, Tim! I did extensive searching before settling on the H10 Raco del Pi in the Gothic Quarter in June. I was surprised how few amenities most hotels had for the price.
I hope staff at the W watch your video. They could easily deep clean the carpet twice a month and "buff" up the leather etc, especially for £2k a night! Love the views though. I also thought the W might have a spa as well as pools.

I do have a door chain like that (though with a little extra thingy on it as well) on my balcony door at home, but I do live on ground floor so for me it's a security thing so I can keep my balcony door a teeny tiny bit open now in summertime and still be (relatively) safe from anyone just walking in. I'm guessing for that suite, it may be to keep children safe if a family is staying in the suite since it's very high up, and maybe also to make it more difficult for drunks to go out on the balcony if the door isn't already open. My guess though is that it's a safety feature for families. I know house keeping in hotels are very under staffed and don't get enough time per room between guests, but sweet cheezus, that suite was FILTHY! The stains were kinda whatever, it didn't look nice but it's also just a sign of wear and tear and at times not possible to get rid of by cleaning, but all the hairs and other outright grime on the carpet is just no good, especially not with that price point! That just may have been the dirtiest hotel room I've seen!
Florida native here 🙋♂️. I have been all over the world thanks to many vacations with family. When going to a beach or tropical location there is ALWAYS a funny smell at seaside resorts regardless of pricing. They always seem to be more beat up than resorts in other environments for some reason as well (walls and furniture). I have heard it is caused by the salt water and salt water in the air. I live on the water and will confirm that items corrode much faster out here
At £2K a night, 90's interior and everything in the room being extra...? That's a terrible value.

Wow! Not only wouldn’t I stay at the W, now I don’t want to go to Barcelona!
Oh nice tour and footage Tim and hotel
Anyone else think that Tim looks like a trance DJ from 2001? I imagine he really loved trance back in the day but never really moved on from it.
I live on the water and will confirm that items corrode much faster out here
Daylight robbery. Would of had a better time in Rotherham today 😂😂😂
Tim that room is filthy. Nothing GREAT at all. Glad you found tea & coffee. Tks🎶
