- Yes, it's true. I quit my job as a TV news reporter. There's A LOT that I haven't told you on UA-cam, but finally I'm sitting down and sharing all of it. I hope you guys understand that this decision is what's best for me right now. Love you!

Clancy you have to realize that those people who complained to your boss about your you tube channel saw your talent and it scared them. They were jealous at how good you were and how much the public likes you. Hope you find something that makes you happy and you can use your talents better. Anxiety is horrible. I have battled it for the last few years for the first time in my 71 years. Can hardly wait to see your future. YOU GO GIRL!!!

This is a very healthy decision you've made. I was stuck in a job that I didn't like, and it was making me angry and bitter. Quitting that job just changed my life and my mental health. I'm also an RN and am debating quitting nursing for similar reasons! Ugh
This is what I came to say
I always see nurses so overworked! It’s easier in the early stages of career, but I keep telling my nursing friends they should look into cosmetics or try and get a position at a 9-5 GP office, you can see it on their faces and in the energy they have to live any normal life.
Obviously someone has to do the job, but it’s just so hard to watch.

It takes a brave person to leave a “good job” when they are not happy. It’s so easy to complain but stay in that position, you are taking a huge leap and it’s inspiring! Can’t wait to see where your adventure leads you and wishing you so much luck and happiness!
So true. I worked in the corporate world and left it for non profit. Even took a 2 dollar an hour pay cut. I was sad but then the money I saved on gas and the new company’s affordable health insurance it literally evened out.
Oh my goodness! When you said life isn't linear, I teared up. Everyone I know, myself included, has been going through these same emotions and making these big changes for themselves. You are not alone in this. I am very excited to see what you have planned!

I will never understand one adult wanting to undercut someone else’s success to the point that they revert to acting like a child. This channel did nothing but give insight into the other side of working for a news network, it was in absolutely no way a threat to anything so it pains me that anyone would try to frame it in a negative light to upper management. What happened to people rooting on other people? What happened to being happy for another person? It makes no sense to me and I’m not here for that gross behavior

That feeling you had leaving your managers office after people were talking negatively about you behind your back happened to be a couple times while working in corporate finance and it really rocked me too. The anxiety I felt was so overwhelming and I feel like once people see they can shake you and get away with it they sometimes don’t stop. It’s one of the reasons I left corporate finance, opened my own firm, and now I make videos on my channel trying to make finance more approachable and simple.
Stupid workplace competition, toxicity especially between females.People are really evil.

Giving up would have been sticking with a career you weren’t happy or fulfilled by just because it’s easier. You’re doing a really brave thing and as always, remaining transparent with your audience here on UA-cam which is so important! So excited to see what’s next for you and Zac!!

Yes, I agree! I worked with a particular group of people/clients that made me realize that I can't help them if I was having issues myself. Now I am a stay-at-home mom at 29 after working since I was 15. No more attacks, no more feeling like I had to take medicine just to go to work. Just feeling like me again. It's wonderful. (Also shout-out to the Hubs for letting me. 😂) Good luck Clancy. Always love watching your videos! ❤️

Although we’re in totally different careers, I’ve been in your shoes girl! Two years ago I quit an amazing job with no back-up plan because I was truly burned out and depressed! It was so scary at the time and like you, I was sweating every night along with waking up shaking! Listening to you share how you felt and how supportive Zack was/is, reminded me of myself and my hubby. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and learning to separate our identities from work is a huge milestone in life! We’re socialized from a young age to put our worth in our work, but the truth is we’re so much more than than our jobs! We are valuable regardless if we’re employed or not! Plus, over time we evolve/grow (like we’re supposed to!) and a job may not suit us anymore and that’s okay! I had to work with a coach to be able to recognize that! A quote that got me through that tough time that I’d love to share with you is, “Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path” -Paulo Coelho.
Have faith in the universe ❤️ it has your back!

I legit almost got an endoscopy because I thought something was wrong with me. Turns out it was anxiety! It’s so wild, people don’t realize how intensely it can affect you! Proud of you for making this decision for yourself! ❤️❤️

I did get an endoscopy a couple years back and guess what… it was anxiety! It’s so insane what it can do to your body and mind

I remember you telling us how you would have to eat and just go straight to sleep and it was causing bloating. I asked myself, is this job really worth it for you. 😭 Definitely did not expect you to quit already but I am so happy for you, this is definitely the best decision, love you alwayss ❤️

Former tv reporter from Australia here and this video resonated with me so much! I quit my job in April after struggling with anxiety - panic attacks, night sweats, thinking of ways I could hurt myself or make myself sick so I didn’t have to go into work. What’s strange is I was amazing at my job and was told I was one of the best in the company but ultimately my mental health plummeted and it was so isolating. The universe was looking out for me though and now I’ve accepted a new role with less responsibilities (yay) closer to family. Proud of you for taking a step back and spreading awareness, especially in an industry that can be so consumed with pride and egos.
I wouldn't necessary say you are "quitting" as much as moving on, many people get burnt out and switch positions to a different job or do something else. You made the right choice!!

If any hate comes towards you for this video, they simply don’t understand what you are going through. I went through something similar when I decided to quit my teaching position. I decided I needed to take a step back and focus on my own mental health. I am happier than I have ever been and have never regretted my decision. I know that if I ever wanted to go back to teaching, I can when the time is right for me and my family.
My guess for the big surprise is that you are moving and possibly you are going to change your channel to Zac and Clancy. I know Zac takes your camera every so often, but I’m thinking maybe he will have more of a consistent role?

My parents wanted me to be a teacher, but I knew in my heart I wouldn't be good at it, so I refused. You probably realized the same with medicine. It's much better to follow your heart than go into a career you're not good at, simply so others won't think you're selfish.

Clancy I'm so happy for you! I literally just went through something like this and I just truly cannot believe how happy I am! I went from being an underpaid, Construction Project Manager (Civil Engineer by education), working long long hours, missing holidays and gatherings with friends like you, to taking a tangent Project Manager job at a different company (still in construction) with a 40% raise, flexible work, and 3 times as much vacation! If something doesn't feel right, take the leap!! I am soooooo happy I did! Congratulations and so happy to watch you on this new journey!
I think it’s also you are in a different environment. Your life played out and why didn’t they say anything from the beginning and it’s a part of you.

Clancy, though we've never met, you have had such a major impact on my life and as a fellow TV reporter in Ohio, I'm seriously inspired and encouraged by all that you've done. Growing up in Ohio but having worked in the entertainment industry in LA for 10+ years, I really didn't think I was truly cut out for news. That was until one day I stumbled upon your channel and thought - wow, there are so many styles of news and this reporter uses her PERSONALITY. I got a job as a morning reporter back in Toledo where I loved it but was also struggling with my health. I reached out to you and I remember you saying - health above all!! along with some helpful tips. I ended up landing a dayside reporter job in Columbus and it really has felt like such a great next step. Fascinating where life brings us and stoked to see where ya'll land next. Thank you for putting yourself out there even on the hard days, I can't imagine continuing UA-cam after getting so many comments from work, talk about bravery! (still trying to balance and figure out my voice on here among the multiple personas it feels like we have in news!) If ya'll are ever in Cbus, I'll take ya out for a drink! I’m glad that it was your decision and not something thrusted on you. I was let go of my last job (actual stupid reasons) and now I am working in my local high school as a substitute teacher and I can say this has been the best job I’ve had. Change is good!

Night sweats is common in women who have breast implants too. It is the toxins. :( Some of it might have been anxiety, but sometimes the body has these symptoms including anxiety to show you something is wrong in your body. I am glad you figured out some things, but seriously get some blood work and check for toxins from the implants. There was a talk show host Jenny something that was so sick from her implants. Night sweats was one of the first symptoms.

You have mentioned on your channel that this isn’t something you would be doing forever with the sleep and schedule so it’s not that shocking! The news industry is so hard. We're understaffed, overworked, and under paid. I'm in a top 25 market and I thought it would be way different, but no. The industry sucks and we're all expected to just take it, because that's the norm, even though it causes so many health issues. Everyone is dropping like flies because it sucks so much. Tired of scraping by and hating life. Anyway, congrats on getting out!! I think you could jump into PR and live a much better, less anxious life.
