As many of you know, on Sunday April 21st, 2024 (see video), I announced that the Board of Directors adopted a resolution on March 17th, 2024, to disaffiliate from Calvary Chapel, and out of respect, we subsequently removed the “Calvary Chapel Kaneohe” sign from the exterior of our building shortly after.
This weighty decision was bathed in much weeping, praying and fasting by the Board of Directors, Pastors, and staff for well-nigh 4-years now commencing in 2020, with Covid-19 and the so-called "vaccine". Sadly, we came to the heartbreaking realization that we were no longer walking together in agreement, (Amos 3:3).
While we’ve disaffiliated from Calvary Chapel, we’re still committed to Pastor Chuck Smith's "original" Calvary Chapel Distinctives and will continue to abide by them, as in every respect we still function as a Calvary Chapel, though no longer affiliated with Calvary Chapel. So-much-so that we’ll continue to offer Pastor Chuck’s book, “The Calvary Chapel Distinctives” to anyone at no cost, as we always have for many years.
There will be absolutely no changes with the exception of our name, which will now simply be, “Calvary Kaneohe”. This after seeking the multitude of counsel (Proverbs 11:14), so as to maintain transparency and remain above reproach, which we have, by God’s grace, for 20-years, since I first planted this church in 2004.
It’s of paramount importance to understand that there is no ill will towards Calvary Chapel, any Calvary Chapel Pastors or affiliated ministries, rather, we deemed it prudent to officially and legally disaffiliate in a God honoring way so as to not cause any further and unnecessary consternation or division, specific to our “controversial” Bible Prophecy Updates, which we’ve done weekly, for about 18-years, since back in 2006.
We remain committed to, and will continue with, simply teaching the Bible simply, book-by-book, chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse as Pastor Chuck always taught us to. Furthermore, we are most compelled and even constrained to always preach only the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and teach Bible prophecy in this, the last hour, so as to get Jesus to people and people to Jesus; as many as we can, and as quickly as we can.
Please know that we cannot thank you all enough for your overwhelming love and kindness to us in this regard. We continue to receive words of encouragement, which are numerous and voluminous, and for which we are most grateful to the many who are taking the time to email, write, and or post your unwavering support of, and steadfast agreement with, this most difficult decision.
We appreciate your patience with us, and covet your prayers for us, moving forward as we navigate this unchartered territory, especially for myself, as the privileged pastor of this most amazing and loving church, both locally and internationally. I've been with Calvary Chapel for over 42-years now, since back in 1982, and have planted and pastored two Calvary Chapels in 25-years of those 42-years, beginning back in 1999.
Lastly, and very importantly, our disaffiliation from Calvary Chapel is not synonymous with my disassociation from Calvary Chapel pastors, as I personally have many dear friends who are Calvary Chapel pastors, from whom I receive godly counsel, and to whom I am also accountable, and with whom I am still in fellowship.

Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa has been lost and has gone woke since Chuck Smith passed on. There are still some good ones, but each one is individual, so use discernment. Calvary Chapel Chino Hills with PastorJack Hibbs and Harvest Life Calvary Chapel in Vegas with Pastor Curt Reed are two very good ones, similar to Pastor JD Farag, that are not afraid to teach prophecy from a Biblical perspective, and understand the times we live in. CCC unfortunately went woke. But only a few Calvary Chapels would agree with BB @ CCC. I'm with you Pastor JD. Its sad but you have to keep preaching what's right!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!

We are called to be separate unto God, our Heavenly Father and to His Holy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who saved us and is saving us and will save us from the Wrath and Judgment to come.

Being just a name change it's no big deal, it doesn't say who the church is. I will always follow you no matter what the name is. Pastor JD you are one of my favorites to watch. 🙌
I don't know what is going on but I just want to say that during the Covid lockdown, when my local church leaders treated us like some disease carrier and banned us from entering the church for refusing the jab, pastor JD's preaching has been the source of support, encouragement, and strength. The Holy Spirit spoke to me through his teaching and made me re-evaluate my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learn to stand firm. Though I am from a country on the other side of the globe and the whole country turned against a minority like me, because of some pastors like pastor JD, I felt like I had the backup I needed. Praise the Lord.

Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills was the first to reopen his church.
Still love you, my brother from another mother. I started attending a Calvary Chapel church a little bit over a year ago. Transplant from another denomination. 👍 From a former Calvary Chapel pastor, taught by the Founder Chuck Smith. I have seen a tremendous change over the years--and not for the better. Mind you, many pastors are holding to the original doctrines taught by Pastor Chuck, but many are not. I support your decision 100%.

As someone who was raised in a Calvary chapel and listened to Chuck Smith almost daily, I understand your decision and support it. We live on Molokai and listen to your church every Sunday. It is a shame about what is going on under Brian’s leadership of CC, but it just shows how great the apostasy is and how close we are to the rapture and the Lords judgement! May the Lord bless you pastor JD, and may he bless Calvary Kaneohe, Maranatha!

We go to Calvary Chapel here in Texas, I’m also studying Eschatology, I like listening to prophecy and what other Pastors have to say comparing to scripture, I have respect for Pastor JD and will continue to listen to him
Very refreshing to hear somebody say this. You are doing exactly what Jesus told us to do… Listen to everybody, compare it to scripture, and the Holy Spirit will lead us to the truth…individually. No man or Organization has 100% of the truth… Including JD.
I will continue to listen to JD as long as he preaches the word of God. That is the only affiliation that matters!

The thing I love dearly about JD Faraq is the way he stands firm on his principles and beliefs. He is someone I can trust which says a lot nowadays. Praying for Pastor, his wife and her recovery, and their children.
Jack Hibbs, a Calvary Chapel Pastor is solid and right up there on my list. I've been tuning in to JD for quite a few years also. I have no clue as to the issue, I'll continue watching as I have done in the past.

I was very confused by this announcement because like you, I listen to Jack Hibbs faithfully. His teaching is very solid along with Pastor JD. So my question is, how could they both be of the same church but make two different decisions such as this? I’ve never heard Jack Hibbs speak onCovid plainly so now I’m wondering if he encourages vaccines. Specifically this one.
No it's not emotional it's called relationships. That's the organization the he learned a lot from.
I “found” Pastor JD and Pastor Jack during my own church’s lockdown and subsequent pushing of the jabs. The goats are being separated from the sheep and vice versa. Buckle your seat belts!(sorry for the mixed metaphor😊)
I am one of the many that do not understand truly what is going on.... but I can say this, may God be the protector of us all..as satan is having a ball.... not for long through, Jesus is coming for us!! You, Kelly and the family are still in my daily prayers JD.

I’m so proud of you that you decided to go at it by what Jesus would have done to remove from Calvary Chapal! I live in Fallbrook Ca. And I removed myself from the Calvary Chapel here, for the same reason! I found an outdoor church, in Fallbrook which was known as the outlaw vineyard church under the beautiful olive trees, very country atmosphere, with chickens, roosters, running loose, a very blessed atmosphere indeed!
I have to say and proudly I might add, that our pastor never closed the doors, never made anyone feel ill-at-ease, never demanded people wear a face diaper. You could wear a mask only if you wanted to. But nobody looked at you sideways if you didn't. We were free to worship.

If JD and the church decided to leave Calvary Chapel. Then be praying for them. I have no side either way. Human beings make mistakes and still sin...I know I made decisions back in 2020 that were not wise although at the time it seemed so.
None of this will change the fact that I will listen to JD Farag, Amir Tsarfarti, Jack Hibbs, Gary Hamrick, David Jeremiah, Jeff Kinley, Barry Stagner, Jan Markell, Brandon Holthaus, Billy Crone, Mondo Gonzales, Tom Hughes, Mark Hitchcock etc. They all teach word based biblically sound teaching. They still believe the truth and hold fast to sound eschatology.
I do think we as the true body of christ may all end up in book of Acts house churches in the future.

I don't know what the ramifications are to end this church's affiliation with Calvary Chapel but I know there are no denominations in Heaven...

Hoping the Rapture happens prior to the home churches, (I’m more of the mindset that they will be ‘underground’ during the Trib) but whatever’s God’s will...
I’m already involved w/in home prayer, worship, & study. Our studies are more like a long church service, than not, so already set for it, if it comes to that.
We regrouped right after the ‘2 week’ C19 shut downs, too. All churches remained closed here, but we got right back at it, biz as usual. Anyone who chose to stay home, was fine. Masks were also optional. Very few rolled up & they did to keep working. :/ (They regret it now & did/will not do it again) A few got it & lived through it fine. Even those who rolled up.
Most took the supplements the banned drs were telling ppl to take, & stayed C free. As I have.
We respected each other’s choices for themselves. We prayed for, over & were anointed w/oil. His Holy Spirit kept right on moving & blessing us. 🕊
Most of us kept our lives as normal as possible. We continued to celebrate wonderful Christmas & Thanksgiving meals, & each other’s Birthdays.
And our neighbors didn’t call the cops to report too many cars at a home. ;) Although we did car pool more than usual, to keep it lower.
God is good. All the time!🙌

About being like the book of acts having house church what you said is a confirmation to what the Lord revealed to me over 25 years ago. Holy Spirit impressed upon me we will go back to house church.
You have to go with what is correct for your ministry. 'Book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.' Amen. You made the best choice.
I have stopped going to my church because they do not want to acknowledge Oct 7 and they don't want to teach eschatology. I thought I was going to be lonely but it's my 2nd year now and I don't really miss going to my church. I listened to Pastor JD, Pastor Chuck's videos on YT, etc and of course, I love reading the Holy Bible. It's sometimes sad, but I have no regrets. I am tired of "Christians" not wanting to speak about Oct 7 and eschatology. They don't want to talk about it, then I don't want to spend my time and energy with them. I go with the Israel people and I go with people like Pastor JD who teaches eschatology. GOD bless from the Philippines!
I am from Trinidad in the Caribbean. I have had the exact experience as you have had. I have left. I have no where else to worship. The churches over here support the government's policy against Israel. Thank God for Pastors like Pastor JD and others who teach line upon line precept upon precept.
I am American from the left coast. We have the same problem in our church! The youngish pastor seems confused on End Times eschatology so doesn't go there, and most of our closest friends don't want to discuss eschatology much. They always say "no one knows the day or the hour"....but I say "we are to know THE SEASON", and we are in that for sure! Thank The Lord for churches like Pastor JD!

Found the same in my little CC. Shut down for covid, all ppl associated w/the church...Pastor, assistants, elders... _all_ took the jab...required all to mask up & proof of shot.
Nope.
Now, all’s back to ‘normal’. But that told me enough.
I split time between 2 other small churches now. For different reasons, but both are Spirit led & both didn’t fall for the fear.🕊
We never told people in our fellowship to take the jab we did shut down most of us disagreed with. You can't make blanket statements all the CCA never pushout jabs.

Denominational associations are a construct of man - the bride of Christ, the Church, is true and whole and united in Him - any name affiliation is completely unnecessary. Calvary started out non-denominational - then humans...but God. True Believers recognize each other in Spirit and Truth. This is OK. I will continue to watch and pray until the day we are all home. Looking forward to going Home and enjoying what it feels like to be Home with Family with Him F-O-R-E-V-E-R and SOON.
Pastor JD - I'm from Australia and find myself watching your wonderful sermons. Finding reason to part from wayward ways is always difficult for us as mere humans'. However with God and His Holy Word as our source of truth and guidance, we find solace knowing that if we "Love the Truth and Word" (in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word Was God) He will direct our ways if we are honest and open to His Spirit. I pray to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the Righteous that yourself the leaders, elders and congregation find comfort and peace.

I have seen the teachings of at least five Preachers who follow the Chuck Smith style of teaching only the Bible, defined by the Bible, and not interpreted by the Pastor's "agenda". JD Farag, Jack Hibbs, Amir Tsarfati, Chuck Smith, Terry Long, and many others have the patience, the personality to dig deep into the scriptures, and leave no scripture unturned to explain line-by-line through the Bible. You know their honor by the fruits of their labor. No showmen, no charlatans, no great production, and in some cases, no offering is taken, by rather received from believers. I have watched for 60 years, as false preachers sell many books, articles, and monthly slipping in the not-so-subliminal tithing message to fund their multi-millionaire lifestyles. Not the case here. I totally know and understand JD and the board's decision to act in the correct and prayerful direction for Kaneohe Calvary because I totally get the servant lifestyle of JD; and I appreciate learning what the scripture says. I never wanted to stay with the POPULAR fake preachers that figure they are worth the millions, and the two or three personal jets, and the $300,000 cars at their $10 million mansions. We are too very close to the wedding, choose the correct "brides' maid" to get you there.
I listen to you because you value truth and are one of the very few to condemn the shots. This has been a test of discernment. Of the ppl I know most failed and still stay in that state. Some are sick and some died.

I Love this church…. I love Pastor JD . I don’t remember how long I been listening to you and excited for the teaching of the book of revelation… I became a believer in 2016… my path has been a difficult one… I always had a love for bible prophecy and the book of revelation as a young christian. The older christians in my physical church thought it was odd for a new christian to love that book of the Bible. I started watching you Pastor JD, Jan Markell , Jack Hibbs now you are the only one i still listen to and sometime Jan . We need to stop playing Church and get people to Jesus! And that’s what you do Pastor JD … still praying for the salvation of my family … but so excited for the rapture.., can’t wait to see you at the wedding feast of the Lord JD to finally meet you the person who has taught me so much!

I was a wishy washy christian tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine , until listening to the Word for today with Pastor Chuck . Pastor Chuck's teaching set my feet on a solid foundation and to keep my eyes on Jesus . Thank you J.D. for your commitment to teaching God's Word .
I don't know much about this particular mess, but I do know that preaching politics and preaching current events and choosing who to elect for office is NOT preaching the word. They may be good topics for a hot debate, they are important, but they most definitely do not fall into the category of preaching the word of God.

I attend Rocky mountain Calvary Church in Colorado springs. It is Rock solid expository preaching and teaching. No wokeness. I left an Evangelical Free Church I attended for 20 years after they closed during the lockdown and went off the deep end where scripture was concerned. So many of these long-time established churches seem to be more concerned about keeping the money coming in then actually teaching the word clearly. Definitely signs of the very last days of the age of Grace.

Preach it Pastor J.D! We left a "Calvary Chapel" not long ago in Washington Missouri; and yes it was because of the only 2 in charge("pastor" & wife) causing nothing but confusion and strife. God has replanted many true believers away from there in these The Last Days.Sadly there are many amazing people there not being taught the whole Word of God. J.D. didn't say who initiated the split, was Calvary not happy with him, or was he not happy with them; I don't follow him, but many followers of Pastor James Kaddis do follow J.D., and whenever these followers mentioned J.D.'s prophetic sermons, my own spirit was not moved.

A sad moment in time, but absolutely the right move in my humble opinion. A line in the sand must be drawn. There is a godly separation needed. Thank you JD, I've been part of your online community. As the spouse of a retired US Army Chaplain, and Ordained minister with a well known denomination, I understand, we had to do the same with ours, not C.C. It hurts, but Jesus calls us to count the cost.

Over 10 years ago I went back to a service at my once home church that had branched off of CCCM. After several name changes they settled on one that didn't have the Calvary Chapel name, but they continued to be a part of that ministry. I was saddened when I went to that service on
Mother's Day. The message didn't apply to Mother's, and there was no opportunity given
at the end of the service for those not saved to accept Jesus. The fire of the Holy Spirit just wasn't there. It felt like a dead church. I could hardly wrap my head around the change. I never went back.
My memories of that fellowship are filled with amazing worship, love and such a presence of The Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, time can change things, and not for the good. I appreciate you Pastor JD for staying true to the foundation that God has built your fellowship on. When churches dwindle it is a sign they have departed from the truth. Read JD's letter in his community post for clarity. If I'm understanding correctly, then it was kanoeh's board who left CC. Not the other way around. But in case I misread it, read it and see if you're of the same understanding...look for this same shirt--no lei on. Because he also featured the OTHER announcement in his community posts, also, but he was wearing the shirt from sunday with the lei on. Look for the one in his community post that is this same video. It has his letter to us. Let me know if to you it reads as if kanoeh was booted. To me it read as if their church board separated from the CC label.. maybe it was mutual..I sure dont know. I attend virtually. GBY!

Yes, never going to do it, God said no! Far too many did not even research what it was, and even JD, in the beginning said if you believe you should, do so? Now, His beloved wife has cancer, it came from that. My own Dad, after warning him and many others, did so and he died stage 4 lung cancer w/I about six months after the second. He did not smoke. Multitudes are dying, stroke, cancer, massive heart attacks plus much more. The pricks are meant to change your blood unlike it was when God created you. If you did, repent unto the Lord Jesus. ❤

I started with Calvary Chapel in the early 80s after getting saved and can sadly say I have noticed the difference too. I keep them in prayer as I know the Lord is still working in all of us. The main thing is to keep ourselves before the Lord and let Him work out anything that needs to be worked out with others. He does a much better job than any of us. See you all "upstairs" soon! Calvary Chapel is a great place to hear the word of God.
Calvary chapels need to preach about end times. They aren’t. They need to step up in a real big way. Period.

The church will be closed one day and people will wonder why with no clue how they fit scripturaly into what is happening. So all due respect, all CC's are not leading their congregations correctly.

Born-again believers should not be giving themselves names and titles. I do not believe in the 501c3 status should be used in any gathering of believers. We are not an "organization" we are brothers and sisters in Christ meeting in simple uncomplicated ways to glorify Christ.
So Christ was wrong when He said to give Caesar what belongs to Caesar? Are you aware of the 4 Institutions God established on earth?

Calvary Chapel has changed greatly since Chuck Smith went home to be with the Lord. Calvary Chapel left us, we didn't leave Calvary Chapel. This is very prophetic by the way. These things are supposed to happen in these last days.

Chuck Smith talked about it in some of his old sermons how he was worried about division in the church after he was gone. That's exactly what happened after he passed away.
