You make it look so effortless. Love it! I always come at my high notes with so much tension.

Ugh, this is exactly what I am struggling with at the moment. I’m always worrying that I’m not blending with the orchestra unless it’s a large tutti moment. We are currently playing Prokofievs Romeo and Juliet suite no.2 and the pianissimo C at the end of the 7th movement is giving me so much anxiety haha. I’ll give these exercises a go though! Thanks

Oh that is beautiful repertoire! Currently we are still not back to playing live :-( I hope it helps. Do let me know how you go once you try the tip

@@princesspiccolo thank you so much. I think the main problem has been my embouchure placement not being high enough on the lip. I’ve been working my way through Trevor Wyes piccolo practice books and it’s getting much easier! I do these exercises that you have shown at the start of rehearsals just to get the feel for the embouchure now! ❤️

I definitely struggle once I get to F or higher in the third register. I know it’s because I tense up (so much that my face hurts!) I will have to try this!

Currently embarrassing myself in flute choir with some high shaky shaky notes. Thank you for the tips. I’ll continue on with harmonics and long tones I suppose.

What a great exercise! How about notes higher than F? Would you say it is possible to reach a pp on those?

@@princesspiccolo Thank you!! I am preparing some pieces with a lot of pianissimo G in the third octave. I find this note to be even more difficult than the high A and A#. Do you have any fingering for a nice soft G perhaps?
