Thank you so very much for all your suggestions! I plays Stars & Stripes about 15 years ago (orchestra version), with my friend who was professionally trained. He has, unfortunately, passed on, but I am now tasked with playing this version, alone, in about 5 weeks. To say I'm nervous would be an understatement, but I look forward to putting your tips and suggestions to use during my practicing.
@@hawaiiflute Just wanted to come back and let you know that I used your practice techniques, and played it on Monday in concert. One small "blip" that I don't think anyone else noticed, but otherwise it went very well! Thanks again!!!!
And if you don’t have the extra trill keys on your piccolo, you finger high G with left hand 1st & 3rd fingers and thumb, and left hand 2nd & 3rd fingers and 1st trill key (no pinky), and then wiggle/trill the LH 1st & thumb keys for the trill.
Beautiful!!! Saludos de Argentina.
@@eduardoberrini5999 gracias!

I’m so glad the video was helpful!

@@dianastahl213 yay! 🙌
This is great, I can't wait to try these suggestions!
This is a great help. Would you consider doing the Double eagle march, the triplets are horrible to learn.
I’d be happy to! I don’t have the music tho- could you send to me? richterflute@gmail
yes I'll get it copied and sent. @@hawaiiflute
Done👍 Hope it’s helpful! ua-cam.com/video/2iHVH8GLP54/v-deo.htmlsi=oO5XMvoDI4WE0quo
Thanks for these tips! Do you typically use thumb Bb throughout the passage or do you use standard fingering Bb?
Bb thumb throughout! It’s way easier & sounds less glitchy 👍
Thank you . Very helpful. I am wondering if you could please let me know how to finger high G to A trill on piccolo. Thank you
If you have the extra G-A trill key on your piccolo, you finger high G and then trill the G-A trill key along with the 2nd trill key.

Can I ask what you use to record, and the setting??
I just prop my iPhone up and record directly into that. Very low tech:)
And the setting is a corner of my bedroom. 😆 I have a tiny apt in HI.
