      Jon Pall here in 88 vs Kaz in 81 or 82 would have been a hell of a showdown. I'd have to give the edge to Kaz though. Of course the events selection would make a difference.

    I love the big WTF element of these old strongman events, specially the over-the-bar throws. Kaz screwing the wood floor with his failed attempt, and at 46:40 there isn´t even a bar. And they throw the weights at the water, so they have to stop and search them (while they try not to get killed by them)

    What a great event...! The comrade- and sportsmanship in those days were unbeaten! The most impressive moment to me is at 27:20, when Bill Kazmaier presses these 160kg with such an ease, unbelievable! I have a harder time squating this weight than he is pressing it overhead🙈

    Such a shame they stopped Kazmaier competing when he was at his best. He would have almost certainly had Capes title the following year and I think Sigmusons the year after, and who knows with that experience and practice he could have had another couple, he was a beast here still after the time off. It could have made the difference and this would have been his too. He could have quite possibly had nine titles.

    • @russwhaley2618
      @russwhaley2618 3 роки тому +28

      Well you can blame Kazmaier for that. He was such a A**hole to officials, fellow competitors, and even fans. He was also very aggressive and dangerous. He nearly killed his fellow team mate OD Wilson because of his lack of professionalism and his violence. It was a great thing when they didn't invite him back!!

    • @hugodogobob
      @hugodogobob 2 роки тому +13

      I agree that he'd definitely take the next two. But capes and Jon made massive improvements in strength by 85. Kaz wasn't as good at the moving events and looking at Jon palls size in pure strength, he had the ability to get strong enough to offset kazs advantage in strength. Kaz would definitely win the static events but if Jon pall had the reason to put on that mass he'd at least come second and that wouldn't give Kaz enough of an advantage imo.

    • @russwhaley2618
      @russwhaley2618 2 роки тому +1

      @@hugodogobob given, however the fact that he was too unprofessional and a jerk to fellow competitors, officials, and even fans is reason enough to not invite him back. He was a massive a**hole. It's good he wasn't invited back.
