I dont think that this IFSA was a big of a deal. Only weak event for Mariusz here was log for max, rest he would eighter won or finished top 3. Similiar show happened year before were Z, Vasyl, Bergmanis had great results in log for max and Mariusz still manage to won that show. That being said Z should been counted as 6 time world champion.

Then there is the Brian Shaw mistake of letting the sandbag fall into the water which took him almost 10 seconds to get back on the pedestal - although that is more of a "should have made sure it was right the first time" situation. Z is a great athlete, but his 4 titles ... some were "gifted". At WSM, Mariusz dominated Z the same way he did everyone else for the most part.

They are still around in various places and they can still be seen in a few competitions. I cant name any specific ones off the top of my head but ive seen the farmers walks being used and some stuff for endurance events
I have to say, of all the strongman competitions I've seen -- and I think I've seen nearly all of them that are on youtube -- this one was the best. It was the most competitive and exciting. The production value was great too, heavy metal music included. The only thing lacking was seeing every lift; they edited too much out -- for TV I guess.

It is amusing how they had to create another competition just to give someone else the chance to win the title. We all know that Pudzianowski was the best of this era.
Big Z absolutely crushing the competition, though I must point out one thing: Blekitis went straight to congratulate his countryman and rise the flag and was left standing there like a chump. THAT was not cool.
Personally I hated WSM's traveling to equatorial regions where it's hot and the strongmen are suffering under the noonday sun. That seemed cruel -- all so the announcer could say "we're in sunny Botswana" and show some elephants. Just stupid.
