Excellent musicianship! They're all really on top of their instruments and singing, so a worthy performance of the song originally by the Mark I line-up.
Hi. I meant that the performance here and now in 2017 by the present line-up of 10cc is a good one, considering that the song was originally by the Mark I line-up of 10cc with Godley and Creme (and Gouldman and Stewart).
The Superb 10cc , Any chance of the Graham Gouldman Interview with Jools Holland & the Extra Track I`m Not In Love ?? All on the Extended version Of Later with Jools Holland Show Broadcast 12/05/2017 Thanks....
I tried to upload the interview with Graham to my channel , but it was blocked due to copyright by BBC . They make it hard for us these days to upload videos.
Does Mick Wilson stuff up the lyrics or did he change them intentionally? The "Well we don't understand why they called in the National Guard" bit is gone.
Yes, Graham is the only one interested in keeping the 10cc flag flying. Kevin Godley and Lol Creme left in 1977. Eric Stewart was pretty much voted out of the band at the same time. Nevertheless, Eric and Graham patched up their differences and carried on with much success (Good Morning Judge, Dreadlock Holiday, The Things We Do For Love) before irrevocably falling out again. Kev and Lol produced some of the most remarkable albums of the period thereafter (including the flop, Consequences, now regarded as a masterpiece) and, of course, they became the founding fathers of the music video genre. Eric went on to be part of Paul McCartney's band for several years as well as The Alan Parson's Project before producing albums for artists such as Agnetha Fältskog, Sad Cafe, Paul Young. Lol co-founded the Art of Noise and nowadays works with Trevor Horn. Kevin Godley is an author, film director and holds god-like status in the world of music video production. Eric is officially retired.
Eric Stewart left in 1995 when they had reformed briefly but it didn't work out. Graham enjoys playing so much I'm glad he is still keeping it going! As of Nov 2017 Mick Wilson was replaced on lead vocals by Iain Hornal. As of 2022 I can assure you they are performing better than ever.
I retract any critiscism of Stormzy. Having recently watched a few interviews, the bloke is a genuinely good guy and to my utter shame I obviously did not understand the man, or his music before posting. I could just delete the above post, but I'll hold my hand up when I'm wrong.
@@WessexMan unexpected but delightful update! I don’t know any songs by stormzy so I’m not invested one way or another but it’s rare for anyone in UA-cam comments to be able to self-reflect, so your reply was really cool to read 🙌🙌 Kudos! ✨✨
@@WessexMan Good show old boy. Stormzy is indeed a good hearted, intelligent and admirable chap. The world could learn from your reflection and honesty 👍
Homme Carpet Graham Gouldman the bassist is an original, and drummer Paul Burgess has been with the band since the beginning (being second drummer live, and on some TV appearances),and became an official member in '76.He's the second longest serving member.
Gouldman, bassist and vocalist, is a founding member, Paul Burgess (drummer) was 10cc's live drummer from 1973, before becoming a permanent stand in from 1977. Guitarist Rick Fenn took over on second guitar in 1978, so three of the band members have played since the seventies. Original drummer Kevin Godley often sings with this incarnate, leaving only Stewart and Creme who have left 10cc in the past. Gouldman has to use the 10cc moniker for publicity.
I still don't understand this song, is it a parody on Americana ? Why are mature English men pretending to be yanks ? Why do so many English groups put on phoney american accents when they sing ?
I accept your point...but, respectfully....there are so very many accents in the USA that it would be difficult to actually define an American accent !
I have great respect for Gouldman, but i am a loss how the new version pack out venues as they are not 10cc , just like those awful 60s tours with in some cases no original members.
As of 2022 they are playing better than ever. I don't think the Jools Holland studio acoustics does them justice (I've heard them loads 9f times In concert in recent years). The lead singer has changed and is now Iain Hornal, solo songwriter and who is also in Jeff Lynne's ELO.
the gay version...this is hard to reproduce as taping techniques were used for the original...played in another octave the guitar sound and sped up.i believe...singer should sing it with more balls.
Paul Burgess needs a mention here. He's been with 10cc from the very early days. His fluidity and rhythm is second to none. He is a superb drummer.
Well said!!!
Absolutely. The dummer holds it together along with Bass 👏👏👏👏👌
Just saw them in Melbourne last week. They were all brilliant 👌
It’s too fast
jeez...guys that can play and sing...at the same time..... what an awesome band still!
Rick Fenn on guitar ,,sublime !
Gouldman was one of the writers on Rubber Bullets. He has every right to play it.
Too right!!
Excellent musicianship! They're all really on top of their instruments and singing, so a worthy performance of the song originally by the Mark I line-up.
Not sure what you're talking about here, this is an original from 10cc, released in 1973. .

I understand now, English is not my native language, thanks.
No probs. Your English sounds very good anyway :-)
Brilliant band ! Every song huge hits .
I have never heard this song sung so high.
I bought the single when it was released back then ... still have it.
Always something special always different..legends
My era. My goodness they are still so on message and still so cool.
Graham surely came up with a good lineup to keep the music alive on the stage. 3/4 of Bloody Tourists line-up brings it!
awesome Band10 cc
"We all got balls and brains, but some's got balls and chains!"
TOTP cut those lines in 1973!
Great live band.
Top class musicians. Saw them with Eric Stewart. Brilliant night.
Thought they did the biz on LWJH. Saw them live at the Lpool Phil in April 2017 - brillaint !
Classic, brilliant.😊
Excellent!
Saw them 5 days ago they were brillaint
My childhood omg,do I feel old😞
My pre-teens, worse. 😁
In their heyday 70's they were one of two greatest British bands ever. the other being queen.
3.08 showing all the young bands how to be cool 👌
;D Up! Anna,Christine,Tinja&Markku :D
Creme's vocals are damn difficult but he nails it good. On his latest performances, Creme himself could barely reach those notes.

Thank-you for trying
I forgot just how good Eddie Jobson is.
I wish 10cc had reformed for a reunion tour with Kevin and Lol. But it was not to be.
cool
Does Mick Wilson stuff up the lyrics or did he change them intentionally? The "Well we don't understand why they called in the National Guard" bit is gone.
I think he fluffed them!
Is Graham Gouldman the only 10CC member from the one that stormed in the in the 1970's ?? I mean I don't recognise the other dudes at all.

Hear that Stormzy? It's called a song. You might want to write one instead of just swearing at people.
Literally the best comment I've seen on UA-cam

Lol Creme missing , would be better with him here..
How come the guy that sings lead is now on percussion and not on guitar ?
Not 1Occ
10 cc more like 10.000 cc😅
New significance in current times. But perhaps too subtle to play in support of the protestors June 2020
Is this the original line up?

Homme Carpet No...nor the original speed...I can't keep up
wtf. so they're actually good.
Sorry but it's sounded a bit pinkie and perki
I still hate Sargent Baker.

It's an homage or respectful and playful pastiche. Brian Montague
@@brianmontague wait till hears dreadlock holiday.
good point. Haven't you heard the Americans colonised the English-speaking world?
I accept your point...but, respectfully....there are so very many accents in the USA that it would be difficult to actually define an American accent !
I should imagine it's so they can achieve success in the American music market
I have great respect for Gouldman, but i am a loss how the new version pack out venues as they are not 10cc , just like those awful 60s tours with in some cases no original members.
The singer is pretty good and if it was the original line up the vocals would be so weak

This is not 10cc . Only one original member . Its like a tribute band
the gay version...this is hard to reproduce as taping techniques were used for the original...played in another octave the guitar sound and sped up.i believe...singer should sing it with more balls.
The singer is basically singing in separate range, so that’s pretty much max power for anyone
This sounds like a weak "Middle class" version of the original. Listen to them doing it in the 70's!
Can't beat Eric Stewarts phenomenal guitar work.
Give them a break. There probably in there 60s
All things considered I think they sound great for their age. Highly listenable still.
Come on don’t be so hard
He is no Lol Creme. Sorry but this is awful.
Ronald van Klooster Think I will stick to listening to the original albums.
Abominable.
