I agree with everything you said. I have a Kalanchoe plant…I tried just trimming the dead leaf edges…but those leaves continued to die. So I then cut them completely off…it was only about 3 leaves. They were the largest bottom leaves so I felt bad doing that, but I know it will grow more leaves. And like you said, I was worried about attracting bugs(gnats) or disease. Thank you for this very informative video👍
Thanks so much for this video. I am a teen and have no experience with plants and I got a plant a few weeks ago from Home Depot with many burnt leaves and damaged leaves this video really helped I hope it doesn’t die.
@@macysondheim I’m taking care of them and not playing with them like you think for some reason. It’s been over three months since I’ve had these plants and they are doing GREAT. They look MUCH better then how they were when I got them. I now love plants and even helped my grandma with her plants. My parents are fine with me having plants because they can trust me with them. I’d also like to say that my plants are doing better then any of my mom’s plants because she kills them right away because she forgets to water them. Also I bought these plants with my money for myself that a got from my job at the grocery store too and my mom was there whenI got it and she was the one that told me I should get plants. Edit: I am also a late teen I’m not five
Thanks so much! I’m a 11 year old girl I love with plants! 🪴 I’m really glad you made this video because I just got a new plant, with a lot of flowers it’s a hanging plant so thanks a lot I’ll be watching your videos a lot more and I have 2 other plants growing still!
I was so scared I was doing something wrong with my first plant 😂. Glad to know it was normal. I used regular scissors that I gave in my room. Do they need to be sterile? I don’t use the scissors often
I got a new Florida 👻 with five mature leaves on it a few weeks ago. Unfortunately ~ one of the leaves turned yellow over the past couple days.. This video was super helpful. Definitely giving it the chop…. Great video
“You don’t have to do anything.” MUSIC TO MY EARS! But what about applying a fungicide? I thought you had to treat brown spot with a fungicide. I will not apply it until I hear from you - why make extra work for myself? THANKS!🌸
I’m a beginner and I unknowingly bought one of the most difficult plants to take care of. Calathea medallion and I’m struggling to keep her healthy. I don’t wanna give up on her but she has some brown leaves. Any tips?
Thoughts on thrips damaged leaves...keep or cut off? I have a Hoya that has what I think is thrips damage after I have treated it with continuous meme and dead bug spray. And wondering do I keep the roots and chop off all the leaves?
😂 I’m 6’ and weight 195 and have low body fat. I walk over 18,000 steps a day and work in construction. I’m in good shape bud ☺️ thanks for caring though! I appreciate it

That’s a lot of talking without demonstrating how to remove dead leaves 🤷♀️

what do we do with this dead leaves after cutting them?
Thanks 😊
Great advice like the way you choose when and where without removing the entire leaf!
I wanted to see you cut the browning off the plant.

but how do u actually cut them...
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the advise.
Thanks mate, your videos are very helpful!
You’re welcome! Thank you so much for watching.
Your thoughts on Peace Lilly blooms when they go green ?
Peace lily blooms should be cut almost all the way down to the base once they’ve turned brown
I’m growing cucumber plants and I usually take off the leaves, does this video apply to vegetable/fruit plants?
Yep! I’d say in most applications it’s better to just snip it off 😊
Where do I cut it off at? the whole stem itself or just the beginning of the leaf connected to the stem? I'm a beginner obviously lol
Cut the entire leaf and petiole off. No problem! Thanks for asking the question
Nice to hear the sound of children in the air... don't get much of that these days.
