We have spent thousands on fixing animals that we rescued. It’s really hard to put them down or just let them die. Love my doggies they cost a lot but knowing we did what we could to keep em alive is rewarding.
Cas, that so touches my heart! Your family decided to give up a cruise for Mr. Bojangles. WOW! Tears a flowing here. Great podcast ladies. Thank you both. OMG! That alarm at the end scared me. I have the volume up loud as I'm cleaning and going room to room. I hear an alarm and thought it was my new Carbon Monoxide detector. HAHAHA! Thanks Cas!
I've been beyond stressed lately and life has been sucking. I lost my lil buddy last week so I cried at how selfless your kids were to vote on the cat for Christmas. I'd give anything for some more time with my furbaby. Thanks for being so real and sharing that not everything is 'fine' all the time.
CAS- you are not alone in choosing LIFE for your "free" cat. When a mom cat abandoned her kitten in our yard, we fed him for months before bringing him in. We got him neutered for free as well. Free! But then he ate a foam bath toy and it got lodged in his gut. $$$$ surgery! Then, he ate some doll clothes!! $$$$ surgery #2. Then, he ate leather tassels from a shoe, which thankfully he was able to pass after trip #3 to the animal hospital. $$$$ But I cried, I prayed, I did everything for him, and now he is my faithful companion, such a GOOD BOY, and I treasure him every day.
Thank you Cass for wanting to serve your community as a firefighter. Absolutely have to stick to no gifts on Christmas because they chose the cat. As hard as it is, it is a life lesson. Did something similar with our family and we were judged pretty hard for it by our family, but it teaches a great lesson on choices. 100% agree on ELF. I can't stand that movie. Same with the Hallmark movies. Great podcast ladies. I Loved it.
I enjoyed this so much. Such a real, honest conversation between 2 incredible women. There isn't anything that stuck out because the whole video was amazing.
As a Vet Tech… it sounds like the procedure Mr. Bojangles had was a FHO (femoral head and neck resection). If that’s the surgery he had basically they cut the head/ ball off the femur. What happens is once the joint is gone the muscles strengthen around the joint and in most cases gives mobility back to the animal once the “false joint” strengthens/ heals. Wishing a speedy recovery 🐱
That sounds correct (vet here). And with cats we always say : if you put a cat in a room with their bones, they will heal. They are soooo go at healing and he may not even have a limp. As long as there was no nerve damage.
A large plastic dog crate tray with newspaper or a puppy pad works well for a place where kitty can potty if they are not able to climb in a litter box. Clorox Urine diluted in water works great for removing cat urine and smell off floors, furniture, etc.
Love this podcast 🎉 It’s just like 2 friends chatting. Also Cas … just change out the pillow covers for the different seasons instead of the whole pillow…game changer.
CAS- when teenagers have a job, they can buy their own stuff and don't really need you to buy it for them anymore. They take a lot of pride in being able to do that. They absolutely made the right choice to save the cat's life. If they had chosen video games and the cat died instead, they would feel awful on Christmas. They can buy more "stuff" any time. They can still travel another time.
Congratulations Cas on your Fire-Fighter career. You're amazing Girl ! I really enjoyed your explaining your training and the job end of it. You amaze me - you are such a smart and talented lady. 👍💕
OMG! Those restock videos are ridiculous 😂 I find it hilarious that Cas has 8 throw pillows on her bed! As she was saying it, I was hearing her say, "you done need multiple sets of sheets and towels. Everyone isn't going to be puking at the same time"
Amazing and terrible, the worst. That might be the good stuff of life. It's rough and intense, but never a dull moment. We are not bored (usually). Thank you, Cas. I'm supposed to be "attentive" but don't get compensated for being on call. I'm ready to fledge and get a chance to live a little. My last cat emergency bill was $10,000. My heart is with you--I love her so much and it was so worth it. My life was being a cat nurse for several weeks, and I had broken my shoulder the week before she collapsed. Keep hope alive and you are such a dear! Oh my goodness, I am so happy that you introduced us to this amazing personl I love her already on first glance. I will folllow her now. She gives me so much hope!
Loved the conversation on Christmas traditions. We usually have Christmas Day free because we celebrate with my family and my husband's on other days. We usually just eat an extra fun breakfast, open gifts, tinker around the house and watch Christmas movies. Very low key. I always enjoy it - but I'm sure if I was on Instagram all day long, I'd find a way to feel bad about our traditions. Nice to hear other families enjoy binge watching movies. I may steal the Smorgasbord idea;)
LOVE this video - the candor, the casual chat, all of it!! This is one of my favorite videos this year. I want a list of all the books - and totally would join your book club. Thank you for sharing. Such an important topic - financial literacy...really developing my passion for it.
Ohhhh & Christine... Thanks for putting the links to the books in. Great idea for all us reading nerds! Go get'em Cass. Hope you guys didn't have to work to late. Luv the friendship you guys have. One listener said it was like eavesdropping on 2 friends talking. I felt that too!.. Glenda
I can relate to the cat thing, in my case it's my 17 year old elderly dog going through something neurological, having trouble walking, wakes me up at night every hour it's exhausting but she's my baby! And this won't last forever.. you are doing the right thing!!❤
Cas you are amazing....from now on when I hit that 'golly gee' state of overload I will think of it as a little turd hat,it will give me the giggles and all will be well. Thanks for that.
Omg. The cat story was so funny. As a cat person i totally get it. I had a funny situation like that, but to make it even nore expensive the cat bit my hand really badly, and i had to go to urgent care because it turns out puncture wounds are really bad, especially cat bites. So they had to clean my wound and put me on antibiotics and i had a $500 medical bill for myself too.
I'm so proud of you and your family. Wanting to save a life rather than spending it on a cruise. One day, Mr. Bojangles will be resting in peace and you can take a family cruise and possibly enjoy it even more.
We’ve really enjoyed some of the angel studios productions. Cabrini was awesome. We took my Catholic mom to it back in March. The story of possum trot was SO moving. I went to a birthday dinner last month and one of the guests works for angel studios. Sounds like they’re working on a lot. 🙂 I also started watching the animated series of The Last Airbender with one of my teens. I’m really enjoying it.
I love that the two of you are discussing with such indignant. This child being left home alone. As if it’s a real story.lol. And yes the cat story was so hilarious that I almost peed myself. And I shared it with a cat lover friend.
I love this with the kids and Xmas. Scrifice is something to be proud of but if you shield them, they wont be proud. Plus the book and pj's and stocking are plenty.
My dog- love of my life who was mauled by a large dog is well over a $35,000.00 dog and is still about $150 per mo for life. Worth every penny. I’d do anything for him. Plus I have other animals. My monthly pet expense is about $1500.00. I AM crazy. Completely. Thank you for your big heart. 🧡
I think it's ridiculous how much everything costs, my dog had cancer and that was a $2000 surgery then he got sick again and blood work, X-rays and a test for fungus cost me another $1000. Then a trip to the ER another $500 to find out he had cancer again. 😢 and then I had to put him to sleep.
Cas, your cat story is so funny and expensive! I would do anything for a dog and I do like cats, just not as much as dogs. A year or more ago, we found a stray cat near my parent's house that was in bad shape. I felt so bad for this cat. I tried calling different places that might help this cat but no one would. Somehow, I got my husband to be willing to take the cat to a vet in the hopes that any vet would do the right thing to help it. Unfortunately, the vet would not cover the costs and it was up to us to decide. In the end, I felt terrible but we did not save the cat because of the cost and that it was a stray. I literally cried over this cat! I don't understand why a vet wouldn't just be willing to put this cat out of its misery. I commend your family for helping your cat and I hope he doesn't get hurt again!
My favorite movie is 'three wishes for Cinderella' 1973 Czech republic. It is subtitled in english. I watched it when I was a little girl and always remembered it. It took approx 30 years to find and buy it but so worth it.
In home alone, they couldn’t call the neighbors because all the phone lines were down. When you watch again, they’re there working to fix it on the day they’re leaving and they said phone lines would be down for several days
LOL I was the same w throw pillows! I decided to learn how to sew, and then how to sew basic envelope style pillow covers so I can just change out the theme/colours for times of year! 🥰 that helped me reduce my throw pillow inventory immensely!
My favorite movie is the Christmas Star with Ed Asner. Criminal dressed as Santa living in a basement and a boy discovers him. Definitely a happy ending.
While You Were Sleeping is 100% a Christmas movie. At least can be watched by New Year's. And not that it condones them LEAVING THEIR KID, but the McCallisters have 5 kids in their immediate family. Haha.
We say there’s no good movies anymore too!!! Glad we got to grow up in the 70s/80s/90s/2000s 👍 😁 Got our boys “Richie Rich” for Christmas and going to get “Blank Check” also. Those were fun kid ones. But tons others out there, just mentioned those bc getting currently for boys (7 and 10)…. Already have the Sandlot and all those 👍
I typically would agree with your Hallmark assessment, but sprinkled in here and there are the deeper topics. Last week a single mom with an autistic teenage daughter had to figure out a highschool dance for the disabled. In another one a woman was trying to reunite her mom and uncle who had been separated in foster care as children, a bit more depth for sure!
This was so cool--like eavesdropping on two friends catching up on life.
I want more!
I read catching up on FIRE 😂😂 life is better, definitely! 😉
I love both of you. Thanks for your authenticity and being genuine. Life is beautiful and terrible, and leaves me longing for heaven at times.
I am watching this, nodding all the way and enjoying myself so much. Thank you!
My grandfather was a volunteer firefighter for over 40 years. He would salute you 🥰
We have spent thousands on fixing animals that we rescued. It’s really hard to put them down or just let them die. Love my doggies they cost a lot but knowing we did what we could to keep em alive is rewarding.
I was a volunteer firefighter and my family still does it. Love it! Way to go Cas!
Cas, that so touches my heart! Your family decided to give up a cruise for Mr. Bojangles. WOW! Tears a flowing here. Great podcast ladies. Thank you both. OMG! That alarm at the end scared me. " there's a lot of fire" 😂😂😂😂
I've been beyond stressed lately and life has been sucking. I lost my lil buddy last week so I cried at how selfless your kids were to vote on the cat for Christmas. I'd give anything for some more time with my furbaby. Thanks for being so real and sharing that not everything is 'fine' all the time.
I would too. I lost my best friend Ranger to cancer 2 mos ago and one of our cats passed away 2 weeks later. So hard!!!! 😢
This was fantastic, complete with a fire call! ❤
CAS- you are not alone in choosing LIFE for your "free" cat. When a mom cat abandoned her kitten in our yard, we fed him for months before bringing him in. We got him neutered for free as well. Free! I had a cat that ate a toy mouse, chicken vertebrae, and cat hair? Three surgeries…He was a big boy who could jump from a persimmon tree to the roof.

My favorites...Christmas Carol, and........ It's a Wonderful life.

I was thinking the same thing! My dog had that on his back left leg 8 years ago and he’s recovered just fine
Love this podcast 🎉
It’s just like 2 friends chatting.
Also Cas … just change out the pillow covers for the different seasons instead of the whole pillow…game changer.
Yes while you were sleeping is a Christmas movie!!
I love “It happened on fifth Avenue”
How did I not figure out that the episode would end like that? 😂
Cas ❤❤❤ I would also always choose my cat's life over a vacation! Did that 2017 - my cat is still around and brings me joy every single day.
CAS- when teenagers have a job, they can buy their own stuff and don't really need you to buy it for them anymore. They take a lot of pride in being able to do that. I love love loved this candid conversation ❤🎉 please do more content like this!!!! Thank you for being the genuine ladies you are!
YAY! two of my favorite UA-camrs! Together! I love it!
"amazing and terrible" I love that!!
Thanks for inviting us to the Girl's Hang Out! How appropriate that this ended with Cas getting a call! You can't write this stuff!
Love listening to you both! Great conversation.
Cas, I love you ~ and your family ~ more than words can say for taking such wonderful care of Mr. Bojangles. ❤
Congratulations Cas on your Fire-Fighter career. You're amazing Girl ! I really enjoyed your explaining your training and the job end of it. You amaze me - you are such a smart and talented lady. 👍💕

Love this! I’m with Christine. Cooking yes, decor no, music yes and chopping soothing….and lots of different knives. I have 2 paring knives.
More of this please.😄

We watch " While You Were Sleeping" every Christmas season.
Love these 2 beautiful ladies!!!
That ending!! 🔥
Yes! best scream!
You have to watch New in town. I have to watch it every Christmas 🎄
Opposite in so many ways but you both have great taste in movies and are hilarious and have a good time. 😂
Die Hard is the best Christmas movie!!! And yes while you were sleeping!!
LOVE this video - the candor, the casual chat, all of it!! This is one of my favorite videos this year. I want a list of all the books - and totally would join your book club. Thank you for sharing. Such an important topic - financial literacy...really developing my passion for it.

Cass is such a hero on mamy levels ❤️❤️❤️
Here to relate to the turd hat!! 😂😂😂😂
I can relate to the cat thing, in my case it's my 17 year old elderly dog going through something neurological, having trouble walking, wakes me up at night every hour it's exhausting but she's my baby! And this won't last forever.. you are doing the right thing!!❤
Cass, have you done a video on fire prevention in the home? Like how important it is to keep egress paths clear, etc?
Loved this episode and what an exciting ending! 😂
Cas you are amazing....from now on when I hit that 'golly gee' state of overload I will think of it as a little turd hat,it will give me the giggles and all will be well. Thanks for that.
While You Were Sleeping is my FAVORITE movie!! ❤❤
Same!
Yayy I love when you ladies get together to chat!!🙏🏽 needed this today x

Insure you pets friends, if you're able
Oven broke on Christmas morning. Dinner was bacon sandwiches! Less stress and very tasty!
We rewind Marv’s scream too!!!!!! Haha. Also don’t forget Gremlins is a Christmas movie, we just watched that one 😂 🍿🎥 🎄
Great talk guys. I'm 70 & I see & have seen everything you talked about... Do it again! lol .... Glenda

Last Christmas is an awesome film….. very funny with a twist🤗
I just got it from the library!!!!!!!!

Yes!!! Christine, I do the super loud music in the kitchen, too!!! 🎼🤘🏽🥁
Love it all!
🥰🥰🥰Oh My - Love both of you
You are awesome, love the talk about movies and life ❤❤❤

Omg, this was THE best!
I have started purchasing pillow covers rather than throw pillows. That way I can have variety but don’t need a whole closet to store them!!
LOL I was the same w throw pillows! I decided to learn how to sew, and then how to sew basic envelope style pillow covers so I can just change out the theme/colours for times of year! 🥰 that helped me reduce my throw pillow inventory immensely!
I hate cooking too... I listen to your videos when I clean up the kitchen
Watch The Family Stone! It’s one of my all time Christmas favorites!❤

I Love Elf!!
