New season / first trip is always exciting. We had a mere two month break from caravanning but found the routine a little rusty with a couple of forgetful moments when we resumed our travels in February. Looks like you both have everything in hand. Love the rugs Juliet, hope you have a good first trip away and see you on the next one 😁. Rob & Gail

We brought our van home for it's annual service only to find we had a mouse that had started to nest fortunately it was mostly empty and with the cushions and mattresses lifted to allow circulation, except for droppings and wee and chewing on the wheel arch insulation we got off lightly.

You did have an exceptionally lucky escape . I know someone who had a similar invasion during Covid. He lost the vast majority of his upholstery and his curtains. The urine smell was apparently overwhelming. He sold the van on as it stood. Of wider interest to the group, how do you protect your caravan going forward? Thank you 🤔
@@martinkitchin6204 I think we were lucky because the upholstery was on edge so they where able to wander at low level, I think it came up on the wire from battery to consumer unit as there is a rubber grommet which has finger like flexibility so have taped that up and will put a trap near that location and drop a few packets of poison around the hidden wires, it’s only the second time in 40 years of caravanning we have had this problem considering our hobby is mainly in fields it’s surprising it doesn’t happen more often, the insurance company’s are wise though they don’t cover rodent damage.
So with you on full size toiletries as opposed to travel size. Our first year caravanning last year and I opted for travel size. Waste of time and forgot to refill sometimes which was a pain. Wish I’d realised about the salt 😂 was rock hard 🙈 Definitely going to get some of those bags. 👍🏼 much better and easier than the vac bags I’ve been using. Thanks for sharing
Hello Mrs B. Yes the full size toiletries are the future😂. A lot less faffying about. The Ikea bags are really useful and fold away easily for storage when not in use. Hi Phil, Second your comments on the IKEA storage bags. They are robust and cost peanuts. Think they're called Dympla !? And if you don't fancy whistling down the M6 to the store then I've found their home delivery to be relatively cheap and really quick. It saves driving there, saves your fuel and what's more - coming back with a boot full of stuff you don't really need...! 😅

Hi Phil & Juliette, love watching your videos. We’re very new to caravanning and I wondered what you keep in the cupboards while travelling? We’ve been emptying everything out into a big plastic storage box then restocking the shelves when we get to site. I assumed that’s what we needed to do in case it fell out or got damaged. Do you travel with the food in the top cupboards? Thanks, Colin

We have the IKEA bags which come in handy in a 2 berth to keep bedding dry under the front bench's
