- Hi Folks today we will be taking a look at some prevention measures to keep Mice of the Caravan. Mice can over a short period destroy a Caravans Upholstery and other soft furnishings. Thanks Phil.

Thanks Phil 👍 we checked on our caravan over winter and mince got into the front locker an eaten there way through a bag for life I left in there. The front locker floor has loads of big gaps in it and mines a 2018 swift too 👍
Hi Carl. Thats bad news. I am guessing they didn't get into the main van as the bulk head is quite sealed. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Some great tips, thanks for sharing. Not been about lately but trying to catch up now
Hi Mark. Thanks for watching. I hope all is well and sorry for your loss. Thanks again Phil.🙂👍
Phil - another really useful video, some great ideas that will help me with ants while away. I’m lucky that I can store our camper in the garage, so I’ve bought an electronic rodent repeller that keeps them away. Prior to using this I had them nesting all over the garage, now there’s no sign of them. Keep up the good work ❤ Mike
Hello. Glad it was useful. Handy if you have some where to safe store your vehicle. Thanks for watching Phil 🙂👍
Hi Phil,
Some really useful information in here.
I know someone whose caravan was all but destroyed by mice. So thanks. I'm going to order the Pest Pack.
All the best.
Hi Martin. Yes they can cause a lot of damage for something so small. Thanks Martin. Phil🙂👍
Thanks for those tips. The wife is terrified of mice!!
Hi Brian. Thanks for watching. This can happen but not to everyone. I just felt a few measures may help everyone. Thanks Phil 🙂👍
We have not had a problem with mice in Desmond but we did in caravans until our cats started coming with us.
Hi David A cat can be a caravan’s best friend😂. Many thanks Phil 🙂👍
Hi Phil I think the best thing I used was stainless Steel scourers what the wife uses for keening pots and pans
Hi. They are quite good as they do not rust like some wire wool. Good idea. Thanks Phil🙂👍
Interesting video Phil 👍. As Paul mentioned, never seen silicone with metal content before. I suppose it’s generally pest controllers that know about. The copper wool gives a neat finish around pipes and easy to take out if required. Thanks for the advice. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Rob n Gail yes silicone with bits in is sold by pest control companies at about £15 a tube. I chose not to buy it. The copper wire wool and the gauze are better solutions. Thanks Phil 🙂👍
Hi Phil I’ve had mice in front locker they’d chewed at a piece of webbing I had in the locker. My 4 berth became 5 when I disturbed a mouse sleeping under the jockey wheel cover, thankfully no damage. Great help as always 👍
Hi Colin looks like you had a lucky escape. We are currently hold up at plassey off out for tea later in Llangollen. We are testing out something new. Hence my late reply. Thanks Phil 👍🙂
@@lostweekendscaravan intriguing! Just back from my Diesel Fix at Burrs Country Park 😁
We use cotton balls with peppermint on them in the corners of the caravan, and ant powder around the steadies - the waste water pipes remain closed but I do put wire wool in them - so far we have not had any successful invaders.
Steve
Hi Steve I am glad your measures work. I researched all sorts before making this video. Thanks Phil 🙂👍
Thanks for sharing this video Phil, I have never heard of silicon with metal in it either, copper wire is a great idea, hopefully we will never see any mice, 👍.
Hi BB. Yes silicone with metal bits is sold by specialist rodent control companies. It’s about £15 a tube. You would think silicone alone would put them off! I spent quite a bit of time on this video you’ll be surprised at what some companies would sell you (rubbish). Thanks Phil 🙂👍
Hi Phil. Great video and advice on the mice and rat problems we can all suffer. Copper wool is a fantastic idea and will look into that. Like you said, coming up once a week if storage, you should see any difference in your interior if they've been in, especially under the front cushions. Never heard of the silicone with metal bits in. Good idea, I think. You like to see if it works, tho. Again Great video and thanks for showing us everything you did in this video. Paul and Sarah
Hi Paul thank you for watching. Yes silicone with metal bits is sold by pest control companies at £15 a tube. The methods I showed seem to be the best ideas. Send my regards to Sarah. Phil 🙂👍
Great advice especially the ant powder. We're away at the minute and got problem with rubber seal on frt window. Rain getting in. 😢. X
Hi Keith n Alison. Oh dear have you checked the sealant around your window rubber. This is a common issue. Thanks for watching and stay dry. Phil🙂👍
@@lostweekendscaravan Thankyou. Rain Running down window inside. Always something. X
Hi Phil. I’m really interested in getting the pest pack. Please can you tell me where I can purchase it from.
Thanks Phil. 😊
Hi thanks for watching. There is a link in the description box below the video. Thanks Phil 🙂👍
