I cannot thank you enough for your excellent guidance! I have a 2017 model & found the harness connection lower down around the bottom of the coin holder. Almost panicked but Redarc confirmed different years may b a little different. Thank you again!!!
RSCA is there because the vehicle is engineered and capable of flexing and leaning beyond the threshold and angle of activation of the curtain airbags. Honestly, it’s the one button out of all of them that shows how capable this vehicle is. Most don’t have this because leaning the vehicle that much would exceed what it was designed to do, thus indicating an eminent rollover. It’s Toyota low key saying, push it and let’s go to 11~ Thanks for this video Redarch seems to be the way to go!
Good video thanks and the rsca off is for off-roading so if you put it on its side they don’t go off because if they deploy it pretty much totals any car, they can go off with a side impact like sliding into a tree or ditch etc it. The traction control off is more for off-road situations
I used the same grounding spot as you for my Blackvue front and rear dashcam and my escort 9500ix radar detector. I looked everywhere under that dash and couldn’t find a clean original grounding spot so I used that.
Nope, no fuse changes necessary with the plug and play setup like I have in this video. Just plugs right in and you're ready to go. Here are the parts you will need..... Unfortunately I just sold the LX570 a couple weeks ago so I wasn't able to do a follow-up video on the brake controller. But there are lots and lots of other great LX570 and Land Cruiser videos on my channel
The ring at the base of the knob lights up actually. The color changes from blue/green to red depending on the amount of brake pressure applied when a trailer is connected.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 absolutely! If you are going to be towing check out my other video on the Z36 brake upgrade. It was well worth it and was a noticeable improvement in braking especially when towing.
Absolutely! It is the best brake controller I have used over the last 20yrs. I think it would be a great choice on any truck including your 80 series. For the 80 series the installation is a little different. Take a look at this thread to get an idea of how the installation will be on your truck. forum.ih8mud.com/threads/brake-controller-install.946261/
Fantastic Idea. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I'm going to pull that panel and plug the switch in and do exactly what you suggested. Thanks for the great idea!
@@NKPGarage No problem, I love your LX570 videos. I just picked up a white 2013 with black interior last month and I’m slowly saving up to mod it. I think this is one of those vehicles where I’m gonna keep it forever or at least for as long as I can.
I have just tried to install it today, 2015 lx570 - for some reason I am not getting supply power voltage. I have checked the 30amp fuse in the engine compartment and am getting good power there, just not getting supply voltage at the harness behind the dash or down to the harness connecting to the redarc. any ideas?
That Redarc control unit should not be able to move. Period. It “learns” proportional braking based on inertia, so allowing it to move defeats that process. I mounted mine on a vertical steel brace for the brake pedal in my Toyota 4Runner using velcro AND zip ties. It’s never moving. That said, this Redarc brake controller is awesome. The Redarc wiring harness was perfect. Clean metal attached to chassis is essential for a good ground. Dialing in the right amount of gain couldn’t be easier.
Very good points. It needs to be firmly mounted to work 100% as designed. I love how easy it is to adjust and functions so smoothly. The biggest difference I have noticed compared to my old Tekonsha controller is how smoothly it engages and disengages.

Great to know the functions of those. I figured that it later with some reading. Don’t realize that’s what rsca was for. Really neat system.
Thank you. I just installed the same brake controller and this helped tremendously.
Glad to hear it was helpful for you. How are you liking the new Redarc brake controller?
Thanks so much for this, you saved me so much time! Only took about an hour
You got it! Glad it was helpful. You will love the Redarc controller.
Thank you so much for explaining the steps clearly. I wish it was one or two panels that I have to remove in order to install. But it isnt.
It is really easy once you get in there. You got this!!
Great video

Works great. I put a multimeter on it to test resistance against battery ground and it's about as good as a grounding point gets.

Hi. I have a Toyota Sequoia 21. Took off the kick panel but can't seem to locate the brake controller port. Any advice?
It should be plugged into that dummy connector. See the video around the 12 minute mark and onward, shoudl show a good visual of what it looks like.
You could just leave the buttons connected and zip tied behind the dash. I’ve done this before on some cars.

Should have removed the PWR DOOR OFF since the traction control will be useful on mud or snow.
