    What can you learn when you ride two bike back to with with each other? You can learn a great deal. These bikes are the same frame, same suspension, same wheels, and same gearing. The difference it that one of them is bored out to a 300 cc motor, while the other is a 250.
    That 50 cc makes a big difference in many situations. From the initial results, I would say that the 250 cc dirt bike is more fun to ride in the desert, while the 300 will be more at home in the tricky, technical mountain riding we’ll be doing in the summertime.

    Keep doing what you guys are doing. Keep it mixed up and don't drop the vs, there is a lot of people that are in the market for bikes, other products and need the information to make the best choice for them. Majority of us can't afford multiple bikes, gear and parts to no the quality of them. You want be able to please everyone so keep it mixed up like you are already doing. Thanks for the great channel.

    From watching the video you look alot faster and more comfortable on the 250 then the 300... but they're both so much fun to ride. I know the 300 is great for woods riding. can't wait to try the 2018 EFI models.

    Everyone talks about the vibration of the 300, I rode a 1999 KTM 300EXC for years and never noticed any excessive vibration. Even when switching to a 2009 KX250f. Now the old 500 and 380 2 strokes vibrated pretty bad.

    I was wondering if you could do a 2024 comparison on the new TBI XC bikes in both the 250 v 300 🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Only you can do an amazing unbiased comparison.

    you used completely different tires to compare bikes? I know your mainly focusing on the engine characteristics in this video but common dont tell us they are near identical with complety different rubber on the ground.
    and did you go back to the mikuni or run the lectron on the 300?

    Kyle,
    Here is a quick question for you.
    I’ve been riding for over 40 years, a little MX but mostly single track...all on 2strokes. Over the years I switched from Honda CRs to KTMs. On most bikes I’ve installed flywheel weights, smoother power and less stalling. In the last few years I’ve been riding very technical trails in North Idaho.
    I just picked up a 2018 KTM 300 XCW. As you know it’s an awesome bike, but it still has a pretty hard hit. Have you installed and ran a flywheel weight on the 300s? I had one on my 2012 200 and it worked great.
    I’m running the yellow power valve spring with factory pre-load. Also does the 300 have a hard and soft ignition mapping?
    Thanks, Dave

    Having better lower to mid range is more beneficial. You're never really holding it flat out till the max speed for an entire race. It's usually coming down to the ability to carry corner speed and take off out the corners better. There's a lot of mental bias that does come to play. But you proved it in your split screen test

    Heard one guy say that you might buy a 250 if you are looking in the used market just because they are more plentiful. Then he said you could do the 300 mod when you did the top end. My question is would that 250 with the 300 head mod act just like a 300 or would it act like a 250 with a different head?

    Kyle or Sam: Which one of these two bikes would you prefer if you were riding in a tighter area; like riding in a forest. Most of the trails where I ride are fairly tight, for dirt bikes and quads/horse trails the only area you can really open it up to go fast would be on the logging trails. Watching and listening to what you're saying in all your video's have me really thinking about switching to a 2 stroke. The other bike I've been looking at was the 350 xc-f.

    Hi Kyle, i noticed several videos and reviews about the 250 and 300 being pretty clogged up around the air filter. Have you made any of those mods / cutouts on either of your bikes? Some people have said that the 16 300 felt way more powerful then the 17 300 due to the 17 starving for air. Any thoughts?

    Love all your vids, but I think what everyone is realllly waiting for is your comparison opinion video yz250x vs the ktm250xc!

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel  7 років тому

      I hear you. Here is my problem though. My little business here has a limited amount of capital in which to operate. I sold the YZ250X to my buddy Scott to free up the funds for other bikes. He needed to put a heavier spring on the rear and stiffer springs in the forks for his weight. This changes the bike drastically for me (having ridden it recently), so it's not something I can compare back to back anymore and be a fair comparison for me.

    • @DHolmquistDesigns
      @DHolmquistDesigns 7 років тому +1

      Dirt Bike Channel Ahh that's a bummer but regardless I think between you and Sam having some seat time on the YZ that together you would both have some sort of opinion about the two bikes and maybe some of there differences.... and maybe even which you may think you like a bit more! Even if it's not a thorough test we are interested in whatcha think brosef!

      I understood, all I was saying is they do have different engine characteristics out of the box. 250 engine more like MX bike and 300 more like a enduro. If you wanted the 300 to feel maybe like the 250 it might require a spring change.

    • @RRM707
      @RRM707 7 років тому

      That is what I've found with KTMs as well. 250 likes to rev, 300 likes to lug. MX style power delivery vs enduro, both can do what you want, they just do it a bit differently.

    Weird I got a 2017 xc 250 my buddy has the husky 2018 300 same bikes basically other than displacement. I find the opposite. 250 better for tight technical shit it's nice and snappy. The 300 is the dirt road monster or so we call it, I prefer the 250 I'm bigger rider outta two of us but other than on the dirt road straight away I got him beat. You remind me of a used car salesman. You must be small. If it isn’t a 250 2 stroke..

    You shouldn't ride dirt bikes. You could get thirsty or a tick may land on you or you might hit a squirrel.

      Off Road Nation ktm has got such a wide range of bikes that it doesn't hurt to have comparison. for a lot of us we buy a bike every 5-10 years, I'll take all the opinion I can personally

      I don't agree. These comparrison videos are great for people that are trying to decide which bike may suit them. Obviously everyone is different, but it helps getting people opinions. Plus, if this was my job, I'd be quite happy donig this haha.

      people know, its internal and not based on a test rider's opinions cos we are all different. set the bike up for you just liek they do. :-)
