I'am from Brazil, South America, and a very common mistake among Brazilians when speaking in English involves two similar words: Café (coffee) and Tosse (cough). When a Brazilian wants coffee, for example, it is very common for them to say "I want a cough".
The sh*t thing happened to a friend of mine from a Latin American country that used to issue passports in a sheet form at that time. Once when asked for his passport, he took out his and nobody believed it was a passport, to which he replied "my.passpot is a sh*t". Everybody started laughing.
Great video Giovana, very clarifying. I loved it that you added the phonetics to words, although I guess you wanted to say that "singular/plural nouns must go with singular/plural verbs", since the words "are" and "is" are actually verbs. Good job! 🎉❤
I’m American and we say “ the police is here “ instead of saying “ the police are here “ like we’re treating this word as a singular noun , and the same with those words ( family , band … )
Pronunciation of sounds depend on way of forming wovels.Usuall mistake is that non native speakers use sound forming from their everyday language. Native, born speakers doesn't have that problem: ua-cam.com/video/IwDD_woR9_I/v-deo.htmlsi=uidJyOJXDEpkV1vJ

Thank you so much for this video
THE POLICE is a collective noun. It means 1 group. It can also be used to identify 1 police. So THE POLICE IS HERE, is right.
Shouldn’t you specify it’s one police then, one police is here.
Policeman is one person, polis is group

Great tips, teacher ❤❤❤
'The police is here' is correct English. Giovana. I think you should research your subject before embarrassing yourself.
It was a nice and useful explanation! Thank you so much. 🥰🤗
I'm trying to _listen_ to the people talking, but I can't _hear_ a word they're saying
But police can be uncountable.
Today I subscribed your channel. Thanks. Are you Italian American??
Hi Giovana, may I know what editing tools/app do you use for your videos? Thank you
Pronunciation, not pronounciation! 🤓
Also, singular *verbs* with singular nouns.
From Philippines, thank you Giovana ].
But she's speaking american, not english...
You are the most beautiful women I have ever seen on UA-cam. Thanks for the video and have a nice day. See you soon.

I think you have made a mistake! Singular nouns must go with singular nouns?! Or maybe it should be singular verb
I like your pronounces different
How to pronunce: Fill, feel, fuel, few ??
You said plural nouns to go with nouns instead of plural VERBS. IT
May be an editing error. I enjoyed
Your video. Keep going. Love you. ❤
You are such an Amazing teacher
Beautiful is wonderful teacher Giovana. Hughs from Brazil.
Is the word FAMILY plural or singular? For example: My family go (goes) on the holidays every summer.
Then what's Wrong with (some soap)
I think, the right sentence is « I’ll have some soup »
Ti amo
