    Fiquei intrigado: police não se pode usar "is"? Agora sei que police é plural, igual people. A pronúncia dessa professora é perfeita, nítida!

    I'am from Brazil, South America, and a very common mistake among Brazilians when speaking in English involves two similar words: Café (coffee) and Tosse (cough). When a Brazilian wants coffee, for example, it is very common for them to say "I want a cough".

    The sh*t thing happened to a friend of mine from a Latin American country that used to issue passports in a sheet form at that time. Once when asked for his passport, he took out his and nobody believed it was a passport, to which he replied "my.passpot is a sh*t". Everybody started laughing.

    Great video Giovana, very clarifying. I loved it that you added the phonetics to words, although I guess you wanted to say that "singular/plural nouns must go with singular/plural verbs", since the words "are" and "is" are actually verbs. Good job! 🎉❤

    THE POLICE is a collective noun. It means 1 group. It can also be used to identify 1 police. So THE POLICE IS HERE, is right.

    I’m American and we say “ the police is here “ instead of saying “ the police are here “ like we’re treating this word as a singular noun , and the same with those words ( family , band … )
