Hi Lucy I have been a big fan of you subscribed a few days ago. I am a mass communication graduate in the Philippines and we’re using American English. I had been living here in London for the past 25 years I wanted to learn & adapt more of the British English which is very sweet & proudly say I’m a British Citizen too. UK is my home now for all these years. Thank you so much for all your help which is an advantage on my part to use it from my day to day life.😁♥️
Lucy, I am from the Philippines. I am a teacher like you, and appreciate so much on your English lessons . I learned a lot from you. God bless, keep up burning.... you're a precious pearl to us!
What a phrase 'making a beeline' We know all these phrases, don't we? But when we see other people using such phrases they get etched in our memory. Thank you.

Always thankful Lucy... I am not a beginner but ur lecture gives me a better understanding of how it has been made including your smile of warmness which makes me happy. Be safe and May God bless you. 🙌
I could listen to you for hours, not because I need to learn how to speak English, but because I love listening to the British accent. I've never heard to take the biscuit but the America equivalent I believe is to take the cake.
Planning to study engineering abroad. This channel is why I got A* in my igcse couple of years ago and this channel will help me for going out and ilets too 😭🙏🏻❤️
Hi, Lucy! In America we say, "That takes the cake." Also, in a 90 year old cookbook that I inherited from my mom, the section of cake recipes includes recipes for what we now call "cookies," though the book does not use the word "cookie" for them. I've enjoyed your videos. :) Blessings!
I've been watching & learning from ur videos since 2018..& I m so contented by my English now..the idioms that I use from ur videos makes me sound so much like a native.. even in our school the students, they were soo eager to know how I got my English at this level..& I recommended them ur channel & so many of the students from my class have started watching & learning from ur videos..hopefully u hold up like this. Lots of love from India.
Hi Lucy! I just want to thank you. You were one of the three you tube channels that I used for my ielts speaking exam and just listening to you talk helped me with my accent and my idiomatic expressions. You also suggested Elsa Speak and I used it for feedback. I got a band score of 9. Did not join any class. Just listened to your videos and two other vloggers. Thank you so much. Will definitely recommend your channel to other people preparing for an english exam...
Amazing Lucy👍👍👍 simply amazing. In a short time I memorized the lessons in the video I tray to watch all your videos and I feel that my English is growing
Does 'taking advantage of' always mean 'unfair' advantage or could it also mean 'making the right use of the situation'? For example I took advantage of the fact he didn't notice me and saved my life. Thank you Lucy BTW for these wonderful phrases. Will go a long way in making us confident English speakers. I wish I had such support for German as well.
Hola Lucy…what a great 😊 way to start Sunday with a great video lesson but I will keep checking for your shorts videos …keep smiling I will see you in the next video…y’all have a great day!!😃😀😄

My 11-year-old daughter recommended your amazing channel to me and she said she likes learning from you. We live in Canada and she is still attracted by British accent. She always want to watch your videos together with me. I am not a English-speaker mom so of course I never stop learning, lol.

Howdy, my Lady! Deadly interesting as always! When I see you, I'm on cloud nine. Your voice... It's something... that really knocks me off my feet. ❤️👏🌷
Thank you! I was trying to think of what it was. For some reason, “takes the crown” came to mind, but I knew that wasn’t quite right, especially for Americans!
Hi S! Your thought of “takes the crown” did ring some bells for me, and i was trying to remember where it comes from. Then it hit me… horse racing! When a horse wins one of the three races, it “takes the crown” and when it wins all three (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont), it “takes the triple crown.” I remembered that the Kentucky Derby is one of them, but i had to look up the other two, lol. You weren’t far off at all! 😀
I find most of the idioms convey the meaning by themselves, and don't require any explanation.Infact, explanation tends to sort of change the actual meaning which was intended.
Thank you lucy for these amazing vedios.you've been so helpful to me in the process of learning english and speaking fluently with much confident .....peace and love
I always find it interesting that I use the English language very much as you do. I am 3rd generation western Canadian with UK family origins in the 1800s. Yet I speak English very much as you do and not like Americans. If you start using ‘eh’ in your speech no one will be able to tell us apart.
