  • Complete guide to perform your engine oil service on a 2020+ G82 M4
    Tools used:
    3/8" extension wobble: amzn.to/3UGEIqo
    1/4” extension: amzn.to/3Y95WJt
    32mm socket: amzn.to/3PbDJh5
    17mm socket: amzn.to/3W2kDMk
    E6 socket: amzn.to/3P7cDYl
    Flat head screw driver: amzn.to/3HkKHym
    - This is a combo kit comes with a small Philips screwdriver. We will only need the flathead but this is the best value for the price
    3/8 ratchet: amzn.to/3h9zshn
    - I recommend getting a ratchet with a flex head. This provides ease of movement and more flexibility when removing the filter. Especially when used with other jobs
    1/4 ratchet: amzn.to/3VQGdDA
    For the 1/4 ratchet using a flex head gives you ease of movement in tight areas and comes in handy for other jobs.
    Parts:
    BMW OEM: 11 42 8 092 620 oil filter
    0W-30 BMW engine oil. Full Synthetic.

    Torque for the Drain bolt 25NM. I will link a video on how to reset the service light as I forgot to include it in this video.

      Hey) Do you know if I can change oil service interval from 15000km to 5-7k km?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  6 місяців тому

      It can be changed. But not without the BMW scan tool. The forecast needs to be adjusted.

      @@friendlymechanic9778 So I didnt realise I need Jack Stand pad adapters, so I orered them... also need to figure out exactly where the front lift point is, as there's no YT video that shows how to lift a G82 with a car jack... most videos are from a two post lift

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Рік тому

      Assuming your car isn’t lowered or has a splitter you can attempt to use ramps. This usually allows enough room to drain the oil.
      Send me a message on Instagram I can send you a picture of where the best place to lift from the front is. @Friendly_mechanic45

    damn, the placement of the oil filter is like asking for oil dripping all over the place. how did you manage to pull out the filter so dry?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Рік тому +4

      The trick is to loosen the filter until you can see the gasket ring. Then just let it sit there for a few minutes. I usually do this first then drain the oil, fill the engine with fresh oil and then pull out the filter. That amount of time let’s the oil drain out fully.

    The oil filter placement is a big engineering fail.

      Yes it is very unfortunate. Hopefully the video shed some light on the process. Let me know if you want a certain video and I will do my best to get a video made.

      Can you make a automatic transmission fluid change video later?

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  Рік тому

      That may be difficult to get done in a reasonable amount of time due only to the fact that I rarely do this service. But given the opportunity I will make a video

    6.5Liter oil

    • @friendlymechanic9778
      @friendlymechanic9778  5 місяців тому

      6.5L of oil is incorrect for the S58T
      Most other BMW inline 6 engines will be 6.5L.

      M3 has various external oil coolers so it needs more oil
