Jackson Browne is the reason I am happy and successful today. I was a shy ~15 year old in Kansas City in the late 80s and Jackson Browne was the main artist I listened to (over and over while I was skateboarding) and I was so lucky to take my girlfriend to the concert. It was at night and we got there in the late morning and waited by the bus to see him. We brought food and water, waited all day and he magically got in without alerting us. The show was way beyond awesome and I didn’t think life could get better! We decided to go to the load out area to see if we could see him and I was at the back of 80-100 people and Jackson called me (yes to my great surprise) to come up front and talk with him. I was in heaven. He asked me multiple questions (especially about my Bad Brains T shirt) and I was so star struck by my hero that I had trouble saying anything. He told me he really liked my shirt and the crowd started chanting for me to trade shirts. I easily could have done that but in my (stupid) mind I thought the shirt was more valuable to me because Jackson was interested in it. I wish I would have traded shirts but I will always remember that concert as the moment that I realized that my dreams can come true if I tried hard enough because they did that day! Because of Jackson I started studying harder, making good grades, went to medical school (which before him I would never have tried) and went on to work with people who got no assistance anywhere else and I couldn’t be happier!!!! Thank you Jackson for giving my life purpose!!!! 😊❤️

I grew up with music everywhere. None of us had perfect families. Gosh. That looks enough like our barn/studio. LOL, all the kids filing in, opening cases, hooking up, sound checks. Joshing and cutting up. And we had it all. The drums were already there. The big amps were there, the smaller ones were brought from home. Flutes, horns, keyboards, all set up. Cases opening, and stands getting set up. Mic checks, and gosh, what a racket. Sometimes, 10 musicians. Sometimes 3. That’s why were chased to the barn, mama said GET THAT RACKET OUTSIDE!!! My dad, more tolerant, still said our music sounded like falling pots and pans. For a few hours, we all got to go to a very fun, beautiful place. And just like Jackson, we weren’t ready when it was time to pack it in.

The first time I heard this was not too long ago… I had just discovered Jackson browne‘s music for me and was playing a best of album on my phone as I sat in my schools library, two seats away from the girl that broke my heart, one seat away from the girl I love today. About 15 years ago, maybe a bit more, I was working in Bullhead City, AZ which is about 90 miles from Vegas. There was a woman around my age (close to 60 at the time) whose son went to a concert in Vegas, I don't remember who that headliner was. But when her son got back from the concert he told his mom about this great "new" guy that opened the show by the name of Jackson Browne. She and I had a good laugh over that "new" thing. I've been listening to this song for 42 years now. Mr. Browne is one of those times enduring talents. Like Elton John, his voice just gets richer, and it is as much a joy today to hear his music as it was when I was just a kid. This man was a real music to theirs who paid to his writing to be stars . A grand writer to a large word of what this an loved You dont see mine eyes to earned of the writings and credits so huge and a damn well due!
I love this guy! He was doing an outdoor concert in St. Paul MN and because the concert start time was posted wrong they came out to do a sound check and there are 6 or 7 thousand people sitting there. So they did an hour and a half mini concert for us and came back out and did 3 hours at the real concert time. Great bunch!
Got a bonus hour and forty five minutes of a Meat Loaf concert when his opening act didn't show up. And how active he is on stage, and as crazy we got in the crowd, it wiped everyone out. Funny how it changed the whole attitude and approach to the show.
Jackson was one of the first concerts I attended, and he played for almost 4 hours. Shortly thereafter, a saw Springsteen and he played 3 1/2 hours. I thought that was normal... boy did I find out how special those concerts really were.
True talent doesn't need much to make music. I've been privileged enough to be in on several jam sessions in life, and it always amazed me, a box, a bucket, a broom, you can make music with most anything if the talent is there.I saw Jackson three times, and every time he did this song, I damn near cried. This is one of the best tribute songs ever written> Man, those were the days-s-s-s-s--s-s-s-s-s.
A true Legend. Great singer, songwriter, and composer.💕His music is timeless and classic. His singing abilities.. are not nearly recognized as should be. He has raw, undeveloped talent, that far surpasses words.💞 One of my favorite singers of all time.🥰
I was a young immigrant with my husband I met in Paris at The Troubador in Los Angeles when I saw a boy sitting in the bar. I asked: “Who is that boy sitting in the corner by himself?” It was Jackson Browne who turned out to be one of my all time favorite musicians.
touched my heart again Jackson. I wish I had a penny for everytime one of your tunes touched my heart and soul.... I'd be a rich man ! Thank you Jackson. Seen you live in 1978....will never forget. Ever.... Joe.

+Dale B. There are many stories about how well he paid , union or not. When he was really young , he was very low on money ( until he met Nico at age 18) and depended on sleeping in his agent’s laundry room. He later shared an apartment with Greg Allman. An apartment meant having no refrigeration ,only canned foods. He also rented above Glenn Frye. Jackson understood the struggles and always paid well , from what I have read.

I've been listening to this song for 42 years now. Mr. Browne is one of those times enduring talents. Like Elton John, his voice just gets richer, and it is as much a joy today to hear his music as it was when I was just a kid.
And I love that the drums on this version are just cardboard boxes with a mic tossed under!
They came for the drum kit already, pianos next..
Tremendous
Thanks for your love and support, for liking and commenting on my page and I want you to know I have all my fans in heart and that includes you. Jacksonbrowne98@gmail.com
Jackson🎸🎸
We'd like to know the names of your supporting cast, guitar, drums, roadie/falsetto?
i love this song
Please stay just a little bit longer...we want you to play just a little bit more...get well soon Jackson...the world needs you and your music now more than ever..we love you.
I was 15yrs old listening to JB in my bedroom on the tape deck. 1976. I’m still listening today.
The drummer is playing on a CARDBOARD BOX, he doesn't need sophisticated gear to sound good. Greetings from Portugal.
Haha love it!
And that cardboard box is the perfect drum for this kind of softer rock music!
I love this rendition of this classic.
Wish I was there. From Mn myself and would have loved to have gone. Quite lucky you bunch were.
Jackson was one of the first concerts I attended, and he played for almost 4 hours. Shortly thereafter, a saw Springsteen and he played 3 1/2 hours. I thought that was normal... boy did I find out how special those concerts really were.
Wow! What a great spin on one of Jackson's classic tunes. No matter what or how he does a song it's always a treat.
This is a talented bunch of musicians enjoying playing their music. Simply pure wonderment!
The talent with this man.......,
This was great! Just a piano, a guitar and some drums (box). And, some really good vocals. Love Jackson ♥️
I worked for different bands in the early 80's a lot of no sleep. This has always been a roadies theme song.
Absolutely my brother
Great video! Great song! Love him.
Thank you so much for your comment and continues support 🎶 I appreciate it, god bless you and stay safe.
I asked: “Who is that boy sitting in the corner by himself?”
It was Jackson Browne who turned out to be one of my all time favorite musicians.
touched my heart again Jackson. I wish I had a penny for everytime one of your tunes touched my heart and soul.... I'd be a rich man ! Thank you Jackson. Seen you live in 1978....will never forget. Ever.... Joe.
i love this
Great song and so full of caring and appreciation, this fellow cares about others and that's a good thing
America music..magic.
I enjoy listening to Jackson Browne everyday
Jackson always sings from his heart.
This just popped up in my feed and I had to watch!!!
Have always liked Jackson Brown, but these two songs have always been my fav.
To me, this song has meant more than just the band leaving.
It's always been about just not wanting to leave in general.
This was absolutely awesome!!!
Yes! In college we would have the bartender play it over and over at closing time.
God this is AMAZING!!!
This man is absolutely brilliant at his musical craft. So good.
I worked his show in Eugene, Oregon back in the nineties, he was recording it and we got paid double. A union job, bro
Cool😎
So, you sold your soul. That is so sad.
Hey Dale, I am writing a book about folks' experiences having something, anything, to do with music and concerts. Do you have any particularly interesting memory that you would be interested in sharing for this book? Please email me at eric.concertstories@gmail.com Thanks!
@@ericgray8483 hey I did session back in the UK, I won't go mentioning names but would this interest you? Email me on chris.hayworth1972@gmail.com if it would.
Jackson Browne…so great then and now. Phenomenal writer, singer, player. Ben a big fan since WAY back!!! Still great. I look for his new videos. Just great.
Opening for the Eagles December 30 1999 Mandalay Bay Events Center. Unbelievable.
Things have never been the same since.
I am privileged to have been there.
✌️
Eric Burton and the Animals opened for Jimi Hendrix in the Anaheim convention center 1968
Thank you
always the best
the best of ever
Jackson Browne has been my number 1 since 1976. LOVE HIM. We share a birthday
I have seen him 4 times. Will again. XXOO
How am i just learning about Jackson Browne???? Once i was lost, but now i am found...
مطرب كبير ابدع وامتعنا ،اغانيه جميلة ،تذكرني بسنوات الثمانينات ،سنوات الشباب والاوقات الممتعة.
This exact song reminds me of growing up at the Jersey Shore, hanging out, at night and just listening…
It kills me every time he slides into "Stay"
YES!
ditto
Me too :)
Always
HELL YEAH!
Credit where credit is due. Jackson Browne co-wrote this song with Bryan Garofalo. One of the most underrated songs in history. I bet many of us folks fifty years and older can't help but stop and let our heads and hearts go back in history and remember the good fun we had. Life was a blast!!! Thankful for having grown up during those times with talented artists.
Wow ❤ thanks for preserving these awesome times playing together ❤ they bring a huge smile to my face Mr Browne and friends 🎹 sooo good
Très belle chanson de beaux souvenirs des années 70 et 80
What an awesome performance, cutting it up at the end was cool.
There are so many moments in a musician's life like this. So few are captured so well. Watching and listening to this makes me really happy!
This guy has always been a class act, gotta love em !
