Glad you’re having fun Tom. So are we.
It's interesting to see hybrid systems become normalized in all types of applications, just like many new features in cars over the years
You are having a great time at your career...hope your whole life is as good...thanks for a superb video
you've yet to make a video that I didn't enjoy greatly. keep em comin. best wishes.
Tom, you do the best car reviews. The content and production value are excellent. I look forward to Driven every Tuesday.
The cinematography on this is excellent!
I watch your reviews every week even if I’m not interested in the vehicle you’re reviewing because they are informative, interesting and fun. You’re the best Tom!
That interior screams quality.
For once we agree
I really don't understand how your content doesn't get 500K+ views. Top quality, great stuff 🙏🏼
One of my favorite things about living in Washington was the absolutely beautiful scenery.
Hey Tom. Subscriber since 2011 here. I recently started rewatching all of your videos on my downtime. Started at 2010 MazdaSpeed3, currently up to the 2017 Mazda Miata RF. I can definitely tell you enjoy what you do with the amount of effort you, Martin, Rob and even your lovely wife Mariko put into every one. Thank you for being a consistent content creator and showing your dedication to entertaining us.
Thanks, but man, that's a lot of me. I'd get annoyed.
Some of your best running footage ever. Nicely done! Always love your reviews.
Another great review Tom. Keep up the great work. Love the Cayenne in any configuration!
Tom, thanks again for another great adult review. With the exception of actually driving it, you’ve covered every bit of this beautiful vehicle. Thanks for the effort of which I know is significant. But it shows.
Absolutely great stuff. Thank you very much Tom.
Tom, I’ve always been surprised that you don’t have three times as many subscribers to your channel. Your video reviews are always unbiased, very informative and well edited and presented. I remember watching your short reviews on KING5 in Seattle when I lived there well before UA-cam was a thing. I enjoyed them then and even more today. Keep up the great work and keep on driving.
Can all just pause and appreciate tom editing in his evil twin every single review? Keep up with the good work Tom!!!!
editing in?
@@rickjames5998 good job u corrected my mistake.
Thanks for all the work you put into these videos. Excellent work Tom.
Hi Tom love all of your reviews but especially your Porsche reviews! The production values are amazing and really look forward to seeing your double! To COOL!
It sure is nice scenery to look at. Nice car too! Thanks Tom.
Great review as usual Tom, we love you and what you do... because you're cool and you do what you do really well. Keep on keepin' on!
I know this is a redundant statement, but the quality of high-end German cars is exceptional. It is even more obvious thanks to the outstanding audio and video clarity on all of Tom Voelk's Driven Car Reviews. The interior is classy, and so it should be for a vehicle of this price, but I am impressed nonetheless. Thank you Tom and crew, for taking me inside vehicles that I would never have the opportunity to do so. As always, a Five-Star review. Awesome!
EDIT: Are there no remote back seat releases on the standard Cayenne either?
Mmmm mmmmm. Love that exhaust note. Always look forward to your Tuesday reviews. Thanks Tom.
Another in a long line of professional reviews by one of the best.
I respect and love all you do Tom. One of my biggest disappointments is when a presented vehicle is very dirty and not due to the current weather conditions. I get vehicles get dirty I wash my own daily with all this pollen and tree debris. I always know I am in for a High Quality Presentation from Tom and Mr. Campbell. :)
I use to own a 2011 cayenne turbo, best suv i've every owned. Im waiting for porsche to make a 7 seater suv so i can get back into a Porsche SUV.
I can almost guarantee that Porsche will stop at 5 seats. Maybe an Audi Q7?
Tom V. is miles ahead of every other car reviewer.
I love the evil twin lol.
Another get Video Tom - both my son & I enjoy all your reviews - looking forward the next 👊🤩
The best automobile reviews on the web! Nothing else comes close!! Rock on Mr. Voelk, great job.
Thanks Michael
Tom, I always appreciate your production quality, especially the editing. Thank you for another great video!
Like a lot the way Porche approaches to electrification. These videos are excelllent: great production value and detailed insights.
Gorgeous video as always. Tom, can you please do an update on your Cadi ELR? Would love to see how it's done for you. Cheers and keep up the good work!
Cool little cuv. Great review as always.
The reason it's an auto and not a PDK is less about towing and more about offloading, DCTs can't creep, they don't like slipping the clutch which makes them hopeless offroad. The Cayanne, some may be surprised to hear, is very comparable to a Range Rover off road. And like a Range Rover almost none of them will see anything more extreme than a dirt parking lot.
Enjoyable review, as usual !
Gorgeous, beautiful, performance, fun oriented machine.
Such a dang unfortunate to be that expensive.
Thank you Tom, we really appreciate all your effort and excellent production value.
$180k is alot of money. if one has to have a v8 and in a similar guise to the cayenne, i would get aud rs q8, and save ~ $50k. however, if one can 'make do' without the v8, i would get the luxury suv bargain that is the audi q7, around $80k with all options ticked.
11:29 i agree, this is an oversight for the cayenne. fyi q7 has powered folding seats as standard.
14:25 i appreciate it tom, many other reviewers would go 'meh, good enough' whilst the car is caked in road grime, shooting that in 4k no less.
Tom I love your production values!
Tom, that was some excellent shooting. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Taycan Cross Tourismo review Tom.
Me too, waiting for one.
I've been subscribed for years and honestly just assumed from your quality of content that you had waaaay more subscribers than you actually do. I definitely appreciate the effort that goes into your reviews.
4:59 that smile
Excellent channel and content. Congratulations
That is the best dl combover I’ve ever seen. Unless it’s a lid.
you both look good in black Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid
@1:00. Did he just say it can run on electric power alone for 17 miles? Well what the hell is the point of having it be an e-hybrid? It's clearly nothing more than a positioning play by Porsche. And he's right, if you're looking for an electric vehicle from Porsche, forget the hybrids and go with the Taycan. Great review, Tom!
Your reviews and the production are always great, greetings from Mexico City 🏙️
Thanks Jordan!
Great review and amazing productions
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Tom I love your videos and your production quality is second to none. Maybe consider a “behind the camera” video one day on how it all comes together. Keep up the awesome reviews!
Hard to do when I'm the guy shooting the videos. Just imagine me setting up the camera, running around to push a button, the running around to shut the camera off. Multiply by 200 times.
My lotto car! I love your Raymond Reddington laugh.
Tom I like your reviews remind me of home from here in DC. Get some Cascade vistas in some shots . Love to come assist when I visit.
Always try to work the mountains in, usually it's too cloudy
I had fun watching; 5 stars.
Great video as always! I wish they would develop an Executive model.....
Been following you for many, many, years tom. Wishing you the best.
Great review! How would you compare this car with its peers?
I think you should do a segment on the impact of building an EV/hybrid car. I've heard (referencing top gear) that building one is bad for the environment but that gets partially offset once you own one (thru less emmissions).
Another great review, Tom. You were kind not to show the Optima license plate number! Hope to see you filming a future review around the Seattle area.
Only because my wife goaded me to cover it. The owner was a complete dick.
Beautiful interior spec.
Porsche should have provided the chalk white color with matching rims. The car is a beauty. Wish i was rich enough for this
Without brown nosing to much lol.... great reviews and loved this one. If you can afford this who would not buy it ... take care and stay safe
i need to work 10 years with no food and water , bills and tax, just to buy a simple version , hahahahah DO NA TE :'3
Wow is so beautiful
Nice car nice channel 👍
I was wondering how the car looked so clean driving in washington
‘Driven’ and ‘Savage Geese’ are top-drawer in car review production quality …
Wow. I was just thinking yesterday that some car company should do a V8 hybrid.
Beautiful pic at 4:22. Well done!
Yeah, I liked that one. . Glad to know it's appreciated.
I WISHED! TBH...I'd be more than happy with the "standard" S e-hybrid with the 2.9 as apposed to the 3 liter motor currently used.
There are many who say the Cayenne saved Porsche. If true, my thanks to all the Cayenne owners everywhere. And thank you Tom for another stunning video review! 👍
Until Macan came along it was the best selling Porsche. So yeah, SUVs really helped the brand. People don't covet sports cars they they did 20 years ago. Sadly.
It's true and while i'm still not totally on board with sporty SUVs and SUV coupes, I think this one is pretty good. Likely the only sporty SUV I'd buy but the normal form. The F Pace SVR is a close second.
Thank you, I look forward to your reviews every week. Love your reviews. Thanks again!
Thank you
From what I’ve seen 1,001 times in Miami, there are two things going in the back seat of these !! Bags of clothes from Bal Harbor Shops and/or the driver’s choice of fun for the night 😝😉
👏🏽 Great job as always Tom !... & thank you Porsche for sending a press car with a light colored interior 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I'd be surprised if you actually tracked how many Cayennes you've seen. I can imagine the bags of clothes or that X-rated option being the most common occupants.
@@ZapFlashD there’s never a dull moment in Miami 🤪😅 ! I’ve seen a handful of Cayennes but dozens more Macans...with the bags...and IG models in the back seat !!
You know what would be fun? A Behind The Scenes (BTS) of a Driven episode! Outtakes, B-roll, bantering with the evil twin, showing the video equipment and how the sausage is made, I mean the video.
Except that it's usually only me and the car so I don't know who would shoot it. Evil Twin is too lazy.
I love this channel - great review, Tom.
Tom, Do you think this is a good time to stock up on V8 CUVs?
Never a bad time
While I suppose it's wonderful that you can put 6 bags of toilet paper in the trunk, which I will never do, can it hold 4 full-size sets of golf clubs, which I would do often?
Utterly euphoric soundtrack.
The engine or the music? The first time with the new music library.
Definitely both.
Did he ever tell us how he uses all this tp on all these cars
He just borrows it from Costco and brings it straight back in to the store when he's done filming that segment.
no way, Carnation the milk product was originally conceived in WA ! the things you learn. at least that we can afford = D
Porsche makes amazing vehicles but I feel like they're insanely expensive just for the sake of being insanely expensive
Because they know people will still buy them.
Hey Tom,
If you ever get the chance and if you can find one, try reviewing the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia. It's currently in its 2nd generation and it is one beautiful looking sedan. In North America it's called the Buick Regal, check it out!
I liked the Regal (and the TourX) but those are gone from the US.
9:35 “no kids allowed” I would agree.
the naysayers were anti SUV not because they said it wouldn’t succeed but precisely because it WOULD succeed
and turn the low volume exotic sports car maker into a more mainstream soccer mom brand
Great review but I just don’t see the sense in spending this kind of money on this kind of vehicle these days. Is there an all electric version of this vehicle coming out anytime soon?
I confess I gasped a little at 4:19 . .
I have few comments on your video actually. First, indeed your video quality is top notch and very crisp and the audio quality is great as well. Second, this one might be just me but the way you edit, the angle and the transition, your way of speech, and the color you're using seems to be "old" school? It's like seeing old ads on TV but with 4k quality video and audio. Or maybe thats just because your age thus how you are used to it? Because when I see a video from Throttlehouse or TheStraightPipes, they felt more fresh and excited. Thirdly, your video seems too raw or gloomy? Maybe needing some color corrections or filter? Just my 2 cents tho, love your videos Tom. Cheers.
Thanks for your thoughts. The PNW is a gray gloomy place, not much I can do there. While this dog continues to embrace new tricks, I need to be true to who I am and how I get information across. Your fresh and excited is sloppy and amateurish to me in many ways. As for style? I am who I am and I need to be honest about that.
No Android Auto??? Well, that tears it. And I was all ready to write a check.
PS. As long as you were in Carnation where's the picture of the Elsie statue?
18mpg? Wow, what would it get if it wasn't a hybrid? 10? I once thought some manufacturers were racing to get to the 100k mark for some of their cars. Now it's a race to 200k for some models. I never thought I would live to see some GM products flirting with the 100k mark. I think I would just wait for the Ionic 5 and get a great EV for 40k. 0-60 in about 5-6 seconds is all the speed anyone needs.
This might be an odd comparison. But if you were to have the money. Would you pick a turbo cayenne or a G63?
Not add at all. But neither. I'd most likely go with a Taycan Cross Turismo if I were buying practical high performance.
At the closing it looks like someone else shot there too.
My apology if I missed it but what is that color? Thanks. (And, yes, you SHOULD have millions of subscribers.)
Moonlight Blue Metallic, no cost by the way. Unusual for Porsche.
I wonder if Porsche has plans for a full EV Suv like Taycan? I feel like hybrids were a bridge to EV and now they’re a little obsolete.
There's the Taycan Sport Turismo that's kind of an SUV but more of a wagon. Macan will be full electric next generation.
They have and test it, but the presentation will will be 2023.
Awesome car-lease only
Ever notice that people who own this car never plug it in?
I don't get it. Plugging in will save money and allow you to ride quietly at city speeds. And the tax credits don't really eliminate the upcharge. It's also lugging a lot more weight around.
Might as well get a Taycan for that price.
Maybe people will get this for the practicality. I truly don’t understand
Have you sat in one? The Cayenne is pretty roomy, the Taycan is tight.
I’m thin. I love my small e-Golf.
I was driving next to one of these Cayenne coupes last weekend and the spoiler was up the whole time, it looked so ridiculous, I felt embarrassed for the owner. LOL 😂
Also they need to start towing and fining people that park in EV spots with non EV vehicles, I figure a nice $1000 fine on top of the tow fee and impound charges should be a nice deterrent.
A V8 with 70 miles of EV range... sounds like a win-win to me
He said 17 miles of EV range
@@bartholomewclark9651 Oh... thats a bit less impressive. lmao
Older I get the funny thing is I see guys selling their miatas Camaros trucks etc any thing we call An enthusiast vehicle to buy a macan or Cayenne since does everything
Cayenne owners, would you recommend buying a Cayenne? Specifically, are they a reliable SUV? Or, are you taking it to the shop every couple months?
I would share your videos but I have no friends.😭
Not sure what the real advantage is here over the V-8 Cayenne. I mean, 17 miles of electric power isn't really useful, and the combined mileage of 18 mph is standard V-8 land. Sure is pretty, well bolted together and expensive though.
It will be interesting to see how many of these Porsche sells. I don't really get it myself. I want an EV to save money on oil changes and water pumps and fuel. I want an ICE so I don't spend all day charging it. So don't you get all the disadvantages here and none of the advantages?
Sounds like your glass is half empty. Charged every night (so you don't wait all day) that's 6,200 miles of less wear on the engine annually. Also, this is the fastest Cayenne made. There are benefits.
