after taking a mythology class and finding out that there were other counties that resemble the same gods and the greeks so I tend to feel that greek gods are more believable than a single Christian god don't know if that's bad or makes me atheist but it's how I feel

These religions do not have a sacred book they consider font of truth. So the tradition and stories of Greek religion changed with the time. There were lots of versions of every Greek legend most of them where lost because of CHRISTIAN people burning their scrolls and killing pagans. Greeks didn't even believe in their own creation myth because there are legends and drawings of people living before the fight between gods and Titans and in some of them these humans do even have tails and walk not completely erected. So before judging ancient cultures and religions we should first study them well for decades and know them deeply without being blinded by pregiudice, which is almost impossible for worshippers of a religion that claimed and still claims to be the only truth. True stories become legends and legends become myths. People call those myths 'cause there is no way to prove that they are real. Eventually , we forget the legends and a great history turns into a dwellig myth. Who knows , one day we may be able to find out.

Religions are fluid and change with time to suit the time period and to help those in power to maintain control. The Catholic church has very little power now which is why Christian numbers are dropping and there are more atheists and agnostics in traditionally Christian countries. If you don't believe me you can look up the statistics and study the history of religion. Alternitavely read the bible and study it's inconsistencies and how depicitions of supernatural events changed over time. Religious literature is very beautiful, but its very much fictional.

Genuinely I want to believe so hard in Greek mythology. I believe in that more than any other religion and that is just my honest opinion. I think that while these myths are truthful, they did get twisted as mentioned in this video. I find Greek mythology and Hellenism so fascinating and I definitely believe.
Naiya Luna The people with super powers that were called "gods" (lower cased "g") may have been physically real, BUT, we should not worship them, they were still just people, they were born, they were very limited and very very flawed, etc, it's not possible for them to have been the "Source" of the universe, dimensions, and people, etc. The Source of the universe, dimensions, and people, is a person who is the meaning of life. Love, joy, paradise, progressive life, power, people, energy, matter, etc, come from the Source, and the Source is a person, not a thing. If the Greek Gods were real, then perhaps it would be an indication that people can potentially have real super powers.

IF YOUR GONNA HATE DON'T READ I feel that the Greek, Roman, etc. are real. But i feel that God and Jesus are above them. since i was little I loved the Percy Jackson series. The books are what got me interested in mythology. My grandmother who was full Greek used to tell me of her times in Greece. All of the stories. In Greek mythology everyone knows of the Parthenon. It was built bu the Athenians to worship Athena. In mythology, it states that the Athenians were some of the smartest people on Earth. My Grandmother told me that once, her and her cousin hiked up mount Olympus (which is supposedly the home of Olympus.) She said that when she was in school, there was a mythology class and the teacher said that the Gods hated it when people climbed Mt. Olympus. So her friend and her decided to climb it. She said that the weather was perfectly fine, she god about 1/4 of the way up and it started to thunder and lighting very badly. When her and her friend climbed down, the thunder and lightening stopped. So me personally, believe in the Gods. But my family is also Catholic, so God and Jesus will always be above The Gods of Olympus.

Here is a story for your amusement: I am pretty sure they were real people with high abilities, perhaps newly arrived beings who came to start a new civilization based upon good organization and a strong ethical code. Their failure over time was lack of ensuring compliances. In other words, the naughty ones caused extra work for the others and all they knew to handle disturbances was the Vicissitudes. Dionysus should not have been allowed to join the group. He was not for the group but for himself. After the Romans destroyed Athens, there was nothing left after they carted away most of the statues and tried to pass off the Gods and Goddesses as theirs, by changing names. Actual memories ended up fables. But the intention to civilize those tribes and Athens' success in doing so was Athena's "magic". She loved her people and held her post til way past the time she should have passed the hat. Hers is a time honored legacy that could never be destroyed. I see it with rebuilding of the Parthenon these days. It had a wonderful beginning. Athena loved her original location, but the honor of such a gift as that beautifully built structure was more important to the people as a citadel for knowledge. The people around the area sent their sharpest sons to learn and contribute by sharing the knowledge back to their tribes. These days I like to think all of those Gods have regrouped and are busy learning about life, readying to finish the job, and in better condition this time.

Why is it so difficult to believe in the one true God when so many people around the world, including religious muslims and hardcore satanists have testified their encounters with Jesus Christ, the son and part of the trinity of God? These greek “gods” are not to be totally disregarded as myths but neither should they be regarded as most high and worship as if equal to God, for they are fallen angels, once created by God to serve Him, even given powers by God, but walked away, like Satan, for they regard themselves superior and equal to God. But they are not gods no matter how they claimed to be. They oppose Christ, deceives people into thinking they’re gods just because they have some powers (given by God at the start). If Noah was real he and the people around him are probably the basis for the mythological gods. Egyptian, Greek and Norse which seem to have things in common with each other. They were people who lived for centuries and founded civilization. Both Zeus and Poseidon could definitely be based on Noah.

You guys are reading Greek mythology at face value and not looking into the real meaning behind it so I disagree with what is being said here. It’s biased. For example: Persephone’s myth is the same myth of Adam and eves fall from the garden but simply told from the Greek cultures perspective. These myths were told in story form and those who were the initiates understood the meaning behind them. The Greek philosophers tell us this. The Bible itself tells us that the Bible itself is told through parables and dark sayings of old. It also says to those who are within understand and those who are without basically understand and believe the parable and not the meaning behind it.
1) Zeus Where to start with this guy? Zeus was of course the guy in charge of the gods and the universe. Everyone, both mortal and immortal, called him father - both to represent his status and because in ancient Greece there was a 30% chance that Zeus actually sired you. Zeus cheated on his wife Hera constantly, and the sex didn’t need to be consensual - once he decided to fuck a woman, he was going to fuck her, and if he had to be a swan, a bull or a golden shower of light to do it, he didn’t care. Like all the gods, Zeus could hold a grudge, so if you pissed him off once, you were completely screwed, as Prometheus found out when he gave humanity fire. Zeus chained him to a rock and had an eagle eat Prometheus’ liver every day for eternity - just for being nice to us. 2) Cronus To be fair, Zeus had a pretty fucked up childhood. After hearing a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, his dad Cronus the Titan ate all of his children - Zeus only escaped because his mom fed Cronus a rock in baby clothes, which he assumed was his kid. It takes a special kind of asshole to not just kill his own kids, but eat them (let alone be dumb enough to mistake a baby for a rock). But Cronus didn’t do things by half measures - he didn’t just overthrow his own dad, Uranus, but he castrated him, too. 3) Uranus Cronus’ dad wasn’t really any better a father, honestly. Uranus was essentially the sky, who made love with Gaia, the Earth - who, according to some versions of the myth, was his mother, by the way. Gaia gave birth to the Titans and a few humongous monsters; Uranus imprisoned the monsters in Tartarus, deep inside his mom, where they hurt the hell out of her (no pun), causing her to conspire with Chronus to kill and castrate Uranus (Gaia was very firm about the castrating part). Father’s Day must have been super-awkward in ancient Greece. I didn’t mentioned the worst part about Zeus’ constant seduction and/or sexual assault of every pretty girl in Greece - his wife Hera would inevitably torture the the women, too. Like some wives, Hera blamed the women for their husband’s infidelity (admittedly, it was kind of tough to punish the king of the universe for anything), even if they had tried to refuse Zeus’ amorous advances. Hera turned them into monsters, banned them from giving birth on land, tricked Zeus into murdering them and more - any children resulting were not spared either, as Hercules learned when Hera tried to kill him for his entire life, starting when he was a baby. they are real but they have free will who they will communicate with. If you are stuck in materialism then you will never communicate with them but if you do energy work and spiritual work and if it is your path then you can connect with them. World is much more wide but people must work allot on themselves to reach them. These religions do not have a sacred book they consider font of truth. So the tradition and stories of Greek religion changed with the time. There were lots of versions of every Greek legend most of them where lost because of CHRISTIAN people burning their scrolls and killing pagans. Greeks didn't even believe in their own creation myth because there are legends and drawings of people living before the fight between gods and Titans and in some of them these humans do even have tails and walk not completely erected. So before judging ancient cultures and religions we should first study them well for decades and know them deeply without being blinded by pregiudice, which is almost impossible for worshippers of a religion that claimed and still claims to be the only truth. Greek mythology came before Judaism and Christianity, same as Paganism and even the Egyptian myths. All of these contained elements that later were copied in the bible. Religions are fluid and change with time to suit the time period and to help those in power to maintain control. The Catholic church has very little power now which is why Christian numbers are dropping and there are more atheists and agnostics in traditionally Christian countries. If you don't believe me you can look up the statistics and study the history of religion. Alternitavely read the bible and study it's inconsistencies and how depicitions of supernatural events changed over time. Religious literature is very beautiful, but its very much fictional.

I feel that the Greek, Roman, etc. are real. But i feel that God and Jesus are above them. since i was little I loved the Percy Jackson series. The books are what got me interested in mythology. My grandmother who was full Greek used to tell me of her times in Greece. All of the stories. In Greek mythology everyone knows of the Parthenon. It was built bu the Athenians to worship Athena. In mythology, it states that the Athenians were some of the smartest people on Earth. My Grandmother told me that once, her and her cousin hiked up mount Olympus (which is supposedly the home of Olympus.) She said that when she was in school, there was a mythology class and the teacher said that the Gods hated it when people climbed Mt. Olympus. So her friend and her decided to climb it. She said that the weather was perfectly fine, she god about 1/4 of the way up and it started to thunder and lighting very badly. When her and her friend climbed down, the thunder and lightening stopped. So me personally, believe in the Gods. But my family is also Catholic, so God and Jesus will always be above The Gods of Olympus.

These days I like to think all of those Gods have regrouped and are busy learning about life, readying to finish the job, and in better condition this time.

You guys are reading Greek mythology at face value and not looking into the real meaning behind it so I disagree with what is being said here. It’s biased.
For example:
Persephone’s myth is the same myth of Adam and eves fall from the garden but simply told from the Greek cultures perspective. These myths were told in story form and those who were the initiates understood the meaning behind them. The Greek philosophers tell us this.
The Bible itself tells us that the Bible itself is told through parables and dark sayings of old. It also says to those who are within understand and those who are without basically understand and believe the parable and not the meaning behind it.
1) Zeus
Where to start with this guy? Zeus was of course the guy in charge of the gods and the universe. Everyone, both mortal and immortal, called him father - both to represent his status and because in ancient Greece there was a 30% chance that Zeus actually sired you. Zeus cheated on his wife Hera constantly, and the sex didn’t need to be consensual - once he decided to fuck a woman, he was going to fuck her, and if he had to be a swan, a bull or a golden shower of light to do it, he didn’t care. Like all the gods, Zeus could hold a grudge, so if you pissed him off once, you were completely screwed, as Prometheus found out when he gave humanity fire. Zeus chained him to a rock and had an eagle eat Prometheus’ liver every day for eternity - just for being nice to us.
2) Cronus
To be fair, Zeus had a pretty fucked up childhood. After hearing a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, his dad Cronus the Titan ate all of his children - Zeus only escaped because his mom fed Cronus a rock in baby clothes, which he assumed was his kid. It takes a special kind of asshole to not just kill his own kids, but eat them (let alone be dumb enough to mistake a baby for a rock). But Cronus didn’t do things by half measures - he didn’t just overthrow his own dad, Uranus, but he castrated him, too.
3) Uranus
Cronus’ dad wasn’t really any better a father, honestly. Uranus was essentially the sky, who made love with Gaia, the Earth - who, according to some versions of the myth, was his mother, by the way. Gaia gave birth to the Titans and a few humongous monsters; Uranus imprisoned the monsters in Tartarus, deep inside his mom, where they hurt the hell out of her (no pun), causing her to conspire with Chronus to kill and castrate Uranus (Gaia was very firm about the castrating part). Father’s Day must have been super-awkward in ancient Greece.
I didn’t mentioned the worst part about Zeus’ constant seduction and/or sexual assault of every pretty girl in Greece - his wife Hera would inevitably torture the the women, too. Like some wives, Hera blamed the women for their husband’s infidelity (admittedly, it was kind of tough to punish the king of the universe for anything), even if they had tried to refuse Zeus’ amorous advances. Hera turned them into monsters, banned them from giving birth on land, tricked Zeus into murdering them and more - any children resulting were not spared either, as Hercules learned when Hera tried to kill him for his entire life, starting when he was a baby. Of course, she wasn’t much better with her own kids; when she gave birth to the ugly Hephaestus, she threw the baby off a mountain.
