the problem was that once a target is spotted in range, the way secondaries work, is that they have to load before they fire. Not sure why they aren't considered loaded by WG, but that's why there was the delay. I think they have pretty much the same shell velocity as the main battery.

No, everything Jingles said regarding this ship was correct. It _was_ laid down in the 30's, it _was_ used until the 70's, and it _was_ named De Ruyter when it launched. It's just a different De Ruyter than the one you're referring to. The Almirante Grau was the former HNLMS De Ruyter (C801), launched in 1944, while you're referring to the HNLMS De Ruyter (without a pennant number) launched in 1935.
My father has served on the De Ruyter in the 60's as well as on the Karel Doorman Aircraft carrier. He has the fondest memories from his time at the de Ruyter. Figures, Carriers ruin eveyone's fun....
the chustetts secondaries did fire, it just took them a second or 2 longer, then the main guns, and thats why you can only see them coming, but not impacting, because the game already ended

This in fact, a De 7 Provincien cruiser but without Heals or Airstrikes or engine boost, but you got Hydro instead and a combat boost from the superships.
I feel like it might work better if they kept the Heals-Grau is super-squishy for Tier 8 but overall I think adding the Grau to the game was a pretty neat idea. She’s not only an actual historical warship with a remarkable service history but she’s also the only warship in the game that was still on active duty when WoWs launched!

(I quite like the changes to the Grau that distinguish it from the de Ruyter, btw. I think I might like to see it get its heal back-Grau is so very squishy, but otherwise I think WeeGee did a nice job with the gimmick swap. 🙂)
I very much doubt Eddie is feeling better, and hardly a ringing endorsement for Eddie's prognosis! But I understand the sentiment, not meaning to be critical, and was also going to wish Eddie all the best. Also, a sense of humour can be a big help, so this might raise a smile :P Always (try and) look on the bright side of life... and things can certainly get better.
I stopped playing WoWS several years ago, but still still enjoy these replays narrated by Jingles. He's a great/fun narrator and often the plays are just really exciting to watch. Like this one. Keep them coming!

Its a cryin' shame that Almirante Grau would be cut up into razor blades... its seems the Netherlands would miss out on having a piece of their naval history be preserved and join the UK in preserving a capital ship in Europe...
Now to be fair to the Surrey, using AP as a cruiser against Battleships is a legit strategy, especially as a Heavy Cruiser, as wit good aim you can land 8K plus salvos every few seconds (the Des Moines is a beast at doing this) . But he should have been aiming for the super structure though as even with improved ricochet angles, it would be going through the bow or hull armour of an angled Battleship.

The secondaries of any ship have two flaws in comparison to pre-aimed main turrets, being that for one they have to manually turn around to shoot and that often their shells travel slower than the main turrets, which should come as no surprise to any of you who are curious

I was surprised the ALABAMA player didn’t stay close to the twin brothers islands at the end. Being far away from them in the cap circle made a reset possibility more likely. Definitely a butt clenching end.

Uh, gnome overlord sir... 1. The DIDO sunk the Bismarck not a Hood. 2. That enemy Massa might have had a lag spike so his shot was delayed and shot behind the 'bama. This is likely since had there been no delay, he could have shot earlier. This happens to me a lot with lag. 3. The Massa's secondaries did lock and fire. The shots almost made it to reset the cap. They were close to the starboard side as the game ended.
The alabama made a huge mistake at the end. Sticking closer to the channeld would hav3e guaranteed the win and he almost threw the solo warrior lucky guy.
Alabama is a good ship except for the slow shells. When they do hit they hit like freight trains, but they’re so slow you have to lead a lot further than you think. When I switch back to Tirpitz, I way over lead everyone a couple times if I’ve been playing Bama😂
The Fubuki is the worst DD in the Japanese torpedo-DD line. It has bad angles for firing torpedoes, which also makes it twice as stupid going down the middle.
Today's battle was a treat, a two for one, with co-starring antagonists. GG to our heroes. If the blessings of an agnostic are worth anything, Eddie can have all of mine. My blessings didn't work for my father who passed away last January from liver cancer but my father also spent decades living in Las Vegas and witnessed hundreds of atomic bomb tests. He even saw one from about 6 miles/10 km as a photographer working for the Las Vegas Review Journal , the main local newspaper. I'm honestly surprised my father's cancer didn't happen a long time ago. I still wish my blessings had been more effective and probably will for the rest of my life. smart of the bama to start the cap, smart of his team to get the resets, but should have done it by staying a bit closer to the islands and limiting the number of players shooting at them. dumb of the bama to pull out so far away from the islands into open water where he could be seen and shot from range and get reset, he also needed to stay hidden bu the islands. this was just lucky at the end the mass missed him, but also bad on the enemy that they didn't pay attention to the map and start going back for the reset sooner.
If Fleet Commander WhateverHisNameWas had gotten hit there, I would have been so annoyed on his team's behalf. If he just hung around near the cliff, in as concealed a spot as possible within that cap, there wouldn't have been a risk that he'd lose the game because the Massachusetts came around and shot at him. But hey, RNGesus said "It's all good mate" and he didn't get hit, so it doesn't matter anyway.
Dido sure is an impressive ship, managing to be both a battlecruiser and an almost destroyer sized light cruiser in the same match

Even at 480p on my tablet I can see at least three secondary rounds flying towards the Alabama to the left. They did indeed miss.
The Battle of the Java sea was a bit of a set back for the Dutch, British and Australian navies as well! It was an ABACOM operation.
Almirante Grau was also *supposed* to be preserved as a museum ship in Lima, but then the Peruvian government sold her for scrap instead.
